I appreciated Jackie's fairness and openness when it came to his time with the Howard Stern show. BTW, that was only a small part of the episodes I did with him. He told one great story after another and Jackie walking through the details of him possibly related to a past great President was fascinating. Hope you check out all 3 complete episodes.

Artie was great too for the first 5 or 6 years until he got too messed up on drugs. Once Artie was gone , the show was finished. Howard needed to add another guy when Artie was gone..it became the Howard and Robin show and it sucked.

@ Opie Radio: Just a great show, by the way - searing questions, truth - behind-the-scenes stuff, thanks Opie Radio.
A thought about Jackie/Jackie knowing his true value/price. "No I want more, no I want more, no I want more." That's
rather heroic. No one'd have the courage to do that. And because of Jackie's BELIEF in Jackie's self - I mean what HASN'T
the dude accomplished?! I originally saw the show's POV, especially the period after when Jackie was demonized. That slant
can bring ye with it when it's the Master (King of Entire Media Even More So Inc.). Anyway, when I heard the specifics HERE,
I was like HOLY CRAP I'd have been p_____g my pants to ask Howard for ever 12 CENTS more! I woulda been cowering,
intimidated. The second Howard pushes/pushes back I run, I can see how I woulda handled that. But because Jackie didn't,
not ever - Jackie has amassed some serious Life behind the scenes. Hate to see them fight, even though fighting was what
    they all became famous for.

It was a good ride Jackie but each time you f.....d up that takes its toll. Howard is/was the talent; all you had to do was go along for the ride. No hard feelings, you were funny and good. Howard is why I listened in 84 and why I listen now. You can pass good jokes all day but we don't know that, I hear HS and he is 99% of the reason I listened/listen. Fred and Robin are extremely fantastic to me but at the end of the day Howard Stern can fill a room with 10 new people and rotate them in and out and we listen. Sometimes it is ok to know you are not #1 but really good to see that you are on the team! Gift horse.

So jackie got the notes he wrote back from howard ? For what ? Just to sit in his moms attic . I guess I dont see the point. They were on the fly jokes about a specific situation. Not sure theyd even be re used as a joke since they were time relevant. Maybe just to have for a book someday. Im.sure howard loved that , jackie asking for his lines back. He hated how Jackie whined for credit bc he felt he was more famous & known as the head writer ( their were only 2 people him & fred & at the end benjy came ) whereas writers for letterman or snl etc are faceless nameless people to the public. Howard is a huge asshole dont get me wrong but that is how Jackie got the job he was a guest & would graciously pass howard lines to say & that is why howard hired him jackies generosity of giving him lines that he took credit for saying. It really shows u how funny Jackie was bc howard used to be funny. Then artie came who I find is a good storyteller but not that funny as a stand up . But artie's problems drugs gambling drinking weight fights with staff etc became 80 percent of sterns content. Once artie left the show every year went downhill. So it really isnt howard that is so brilliant ( his iq is 99) it's the people around him. Plus he stole from steve dahl. He also used to do that clapping thing all the time that was so annoying. After anything he said he & everyone would clap. U know his old guests that werent a list were far better too. Richard simmons, Gilbert godfrey, jackie stallone sam kinison were fat better than his horrible interviews . " did u feel jealous of your brother " " in a sense did u do this for ur parents attention ?" Ugh. He did that McCartney interview in 01 & since he is dubbed the great interviewer. Hes awful & getting morbid. I dont listen but I love a podcast of ex fans that point out how shitty the show is how bad he treats his employees particularly the ones gone & he was grilling anderson cooper about how much money his dead mother left him. It was cringe.

Jackie was ok... But the show right now 2019 and last few years is better than ever

Jackie's jokes bad Howard doesn't need sidekick. Actually Artie made me laugh more than old school shit

Artie was a funnier comedian but Jackie make Howard funnier. Jackie's main role was as a writer. His on air character was secondary.
