You know, I started watching your channel because it was interesting and informative about something I really didn't have much knowledge on, slabbed books and values. I was pleased that, while you are profit minded, you don't ever screw or downplay the people you get books from. Now you've taken on the role of mentor. That's why I always look forward to your posts. Youi really are setting an example for all of us.
I had to stop and fix myself an adult beverage and type this as he was slamming around the Miller Daredevils!! LOL at your reactions. My breathing has slowed now...let me return to watching....
So, finished. This was a very interesting video, and I think you gave very good advice. I wish Ed all the best; give us viewers a heads up if/when you find out his YT channel is up and running. PS--as an old timer in my profession, which necessitates a good deal of listening to folks, I'll say you have a very well developed, "Hmmmmm...." Keep up the videos, always a joy to watch! Thank you for all you do for the comic book community!
He didn't, though. Are they great? Nope. But they're not horrible. A bunch of Venom vs Wolverine MCP, 1st app Crossbones, what looked like 4 or 5 1st app Ayesha's and that FF run also has the 1st app Valeria Richards which may have been there, he had a bunch of the John Byrne Fantastic Four run, some Frank Miller Daredevil run... when he was flipping through those Thor's Bry should've asked him if the #411 or #412 was there - 1st app New Warriors - because he had a big run from that stretch. Just based on what he flipped through I'm willing to bet there's a ton of decent mid level keys in there. Somebody who knows books and knows the market could definitely flip those boxes for a decent profit. Regardless, this is what longboxes for a $100 really look like. Those boxes Bry bought last month for a $100 each was just pure insanity.
When he was practically bending those Daredevil issues I physically winced. And he did it almost immediately after Bry told him "You wanna make sure you're really careful with how you handle the books."
Bry this is by far why your pretty much my favorite UA-camr, your always sharing all your insights and experience and keeping all the negative stuff out. Keep on doing what you do. I am actually in the Dallas, TX area myself and have been here just over four years and can tell you finding collections is much tougher. I was born on the east coast and lived many years there prior to moving to Texas but I grew up in Northern California and can say living on either coast you have greater access to the best comic book retailers, conventions, and collectors. Texas is a little bit more challenging when it comes to finding collections, but they do pop up every now and again.
Bry what an amazing gesture to help Ed out starting this new journey! 👏👏👏As we know there are so many small details and tricks to get the most bang for your buck in this hobby. Without your help he most likely would have been taken advantage of and ruined this potential retirement hobby before it even started. He should probably go back through your catalog of video’s for reference because you have offered many of those tips in detail over the years.
Always helping the community! You're a good guy Bry! With that said, I wouldn't advise anyone to be a seller of comics without a solid knowledge base of comics. Get to know your craft well before making a business out of it. On the one hand, we learn by making mistakes but you don't want to make too many mistakes when it involves other people.
You are doing The Lord’s work here Bry! Lol. But seriously, good on you for sharing not only your wisdom but your all too important time. Good on ya man!
Great lesson on how to give your books spine tics!😮 Serious dollar bin diving or perhaps a good set to learn how to clean and press books. I feel so bad for this very nice but inexperienced collector/seller. On the other hand, you continue to build the community though your kindness and generosity. Props to you Bry!
He also could look at some local DFW shops. Lewisville Comics is good for stocking up. Titan Comics loves buying back issues. If he's closer to Fort Worth, I'd say he should look at Generation X. All of those are good spots.
Interesting video. Thank you for making it for us! I’m also a new collector and enjoy hearing any of your bits of wisdom that you share with your followers 👍
We all pay to learn in this hobby. If he enjoys the dig, finds some stuff he likes and moves the bulk on at a low price at shows great. If he becomes more knowledgeable he can better determine that investment vs sale cost. I think a think Bry did not mention in costs is fees to what not, ebay, or wherever you are selling that cut into those profits.
Bry is such a great comic guy. He tries to give this new comic nubie the real 411 of buying and selling comic books. But seriously, he bought some bad comic books.😢
I’m out of Texas and a small time collector I have some great xman and advenger and fantastic four silver age keys and my motto is everything is for sale for the rite price
Hey Bry, this is a good video for someone who has started to get interested in collecting. I’m trying to learn the ins and outs of this type of investment/speculation. This is different than trading shares in stocks and funds that I am more familiar with.
I think this is a good start for a recently retired guy. I'm on my way out, and all I've heard is find a hobby or tinker or something. Regardless of the value, it's an awesome thing to get into. Awesome video and fingers crossed on my mystery box!!!lol
Great video Bry! I have a collection I picked up but I'm slowly taking my time listing it on ebay and my IG account since the market prices have dropped on some of these books. Eventually I'm going to buy a press to press my own books.
That was really nice of you to help that guy. Perhaps you have a new source of income for yourself doing FaceTime in to help people evaluate what they have?
Hi, I am thinking of sending out a few books for my first Grading experience. I am really concerned about how the books will be treated and turnaround time. I wonder if using a different provider like PGX or EGS as opposed to CGC or CBCS. I have a small collection, 100 books with several keys for Perter Parker Spectacular SpiderMan and am wondering if it is worth buying all the fillers to complete the series?
Great of you helping this guy out. However, Im pretty sure he's going to get fed up with comics quickly when he realises no one wants to spend money on beaten up none key comics from the 90s.
I started out about ten years ago buying a bunch of long boxes like that. A lot of filler but there was enough good stuff to make some money, got a few graded and so on. Good learning experience for sure.
Nice to see you helping a guy out, but I also found it a little stressful to see how he was handling the books.
Bry is a man of the people! That was very nice of you to spend your time with Ed, offering your professional advice. Keep grinding bro!✌️
Awesome of you to help out a fellow collector get into selling. Man of the community, always helping out others.
Regardless of the books he had I was stressed out watching how they were being handled!! But fair play to Bry for sharing his time/advise 👍🏼
God, he was stressing me out. Damn near folding those books in half. Sheesh.
I really enjoyed the whatnot fireside chat, I got approved to sell on whatnot a couple days later. Thanks for the invite.
Very cool!!

ROI is important. I’m glad u broke that down to him…sometimes the juice isn’t worth the squeeze. Do what u love!

Looks like the hardest part of this video was not telling him he bought horrible books.
looks like a 1 dollar bin
He didn't, though. Are they great? Nope. But they're not horrible. @@michaelsharkey4255 I suffered. A lot.
"the Mighty.........................Thor?"
When he was practically bending those Daredevil issues I physically winced. And he did it almost immediately after Bry told him "You wanna make sure you're really careful with how you handle the books."
cool you did this for that gentleman. hopefully it works out for him.
Good on you Bry helping out another collector! Very generous!
I can confirm Bryan‘s an awesome lad, he answered me few times when i‘ve ask ed for some advice. Such a legend!
I know they were rough comics but I’d still recommend a bit more caution handling em. Just to get in the habit lol

Nice to help a fellow collector, we all need help from time to time
That's pretty cool of you Bry helping out a fellow collector.
Great job helping the community
As someone who is flipping his first 2 long boxes, I loved this video.

Very good point

That was very cool giving Ed advice and spending the time.
Great to see you willing to help a new collector
A ton of great information! Keep up the good that you do!

There's probably something wrong with me, but I just like seeing boxes being flipped through. Always in suspense about what you're gonna see.
$125 a box is a great deal. I wish I could run across deals like that.
Your last box was great. It's awesome how much you do for the community.
He also could look at some local DFW shops. Lewisville Comics is good for stocking up. Titan Comics loves buying back issues. If he's closer to Fort Worth, I'd say he should look at Generation X. All of those are good spots.

Great to see you giving advice and helping out a fellow collector. great job!
Good on you for helping him out

Very different type of video and really nice of you to help Ed out. I wish him the best of luck!
This video was really interesting. Thanks Bry!
Thanks for this video Bry!
The way he was bending those books really hurt me
You are the super hero this reality needs.
If you don’t see bags and boards like that I wouldn’t buy. Also I was getting anxiety watching him handle the books. Careful bro!
Good luck to Ed and good advice Bry
Quality content on this channel
Very informative. Keep up the great videos.
This is nice of you. Also good to see how people get books in bulk.
Great advice
Bry is such a great comic guy. He tries to give this new comic nubie the real 411 of buying and selling comic books. But seriously, he bought some bad comic books.😢

Something new thanks Bry!
Hi Bryce, great content. Out of curiosity what do you use to catalog your PC and how do you personally track values and so on?
Hey Bry, this is a good video for someone who has started to get interested in collecting. I’m trying to learn the ins and outs of this type of investment/speculation. This is different than trading shares in stocks and funds that I am more familiar with.
A lot of good insight.

Good info.
Good luck Ed!
Very helpful video for beginner and veteran sellers. We'll done Bry and Ed.
Awesome stuff. What a helpful crash course master class, I dig it!
This was a new one - but I like when you change up content. Good one Bry!
Great video Bry! I have a collection I picked up but I'm slowly taking my time listing it on ebay and my IG account since the market prices have dropped on some of these books. Eventually I'm going to buy a press to press my own books.

Awesome. I would like more of these videos
Very informative video. I don’t intend on becoming a seller but I would recommend this video to anyone who is.
Awesome mystery box! Too bad I missed out. 😢
How awesome!
I commend Ed for the courage.
Great Content
Stoked for another mystery box!
interesting, thanks for sharing
Maybe he could take them to a local show and try to sell them as dollar books? Not a huge time/capital investment at least
Considerate of you to take the time to do this.
Who are you? That is sooo cool of you.
His camera skills need to get Better also, Bry was great for helping him out
Awesome video!
Interesting stuff!

I feel like 10 years ago prices probably made making a small profit possible. Now everyone thinks they're 90s junk is Action comics #1.
Nice of you to take a look for him but I feel he's off to a bad start. Gonna be tough to move those books.
Great vid dude, very helpful.
Good advice
