I literally just went through a subpar evaluation filled with half truths at work and a transfer to a different position with less pay. This advice is spot on with the different emotions. This experience is so unnerving and I'm stuck between speaking with the boss, take legal action or just allowing God to take care of it.

Thank you! I needed this. Same company 30 years and this is the first and horrible and hard and depressing more than I can even explain. This video is good and the how to deal with a micromanager and someone that feels inferior when you don’t even what that job! It’s so sad it’s harder than when I was dealing with breast cancer!!!

I just watched about 20 of your videos for the first time. You really get it and communicate and frame these subjects all really well. On this video what resonates with me so much is the Put Up A Wall thing. I have been so abused and am so burnt out I am completely calm now during the latest BS (how many times have I been through this now after working 45 years since I was 15). A lot and it's complete BS.
The problem is the golden handcuffs and having rode up the pay schedule over 20ish years. This last 5 years is by far the most important. However, it is also the most difficult.

I was called into a meet with a boss who gave me notice I'd be laid off in a month because I just wasn't getting the programming code. I had to think about it but I ended up quitting 3 days later after carefully checking in all the completed project code and then giving 20 minutes notice that I was quitting. I didn't have an exit plan.
I just don't think it's that big of a deal to quit. Sure, you'll spend some time job hunting especially in this economy but I ended up taking a job that paid three times more with complex and sophisticated tasks that's far more interesting that the "basic web development and make the front-end look pretty" crap I'd been doing before. The first requires my CS degree while the second can probably be done by anyone who has graduated from a coding bootcamp.

Thank you! I have been feeling so down and been crying ony thinking about my manager... And I don't want to bring this up to my boss, because what should I say? that the manager in general is an asshole? I get so much anxiety, because I am a very sensitive person. I have autism and other mental disorders that makes it into a mix of hyper sensitivity you could say.. So it's super hard for me to handle social situations, confrontations and not take things personal.. or just handle this uncomfortable feelings I have because of my manager..!
And I really don't want to quit, because this has always been my dream job, and I worked so hard to get it! And there is no places like this where I live. I am in the entertainment industry. But it's unfortunately starting to affect me negatively. I will try to start to use your wonderful tips on how to handle a toxic boss! and see if things goes better from there. And if not, no matter how uncomfortable and gaslighty they are I will bring my persperctive on to the table and talk with them..

@@BenjaminPreston ;-) It just helps to hear that others have, unfortunately, had a 'terrible boss'.
I bet that's one reason why that movie, 'Horrible Bosses', was so successful. I haven't watched it yet. Someone who posted a video on UA-cam said that working in a toxic work place is traumatic. I agree. I think that counseling is beneficial also.

How about you do some videos on job interviews, what to include in a resume and also how to change careers without feeling guilty.

I definitely want to create wider videos like that, so I’ll mix some into my content in the next couple months! Thanks for the suggestions!
