This cake is beautiful!! You will get to 200 K so fast....I have one word...shorts. You have enough footage..get one of your kids or nieces or nephews to take your footage and make creative shorts. You have such beautiful work....it will introduce you to a whole new audience! And they will get addicted to your shorts! And the rest of us will watch the details in the longer videos. You'll get there in no time I'm sure. You are so talented.

Mary, I did a 60th birthday cake for my sister and I used butter and Crisco for the icing and when I was icing it it just seemed like it did not want to smooth out. It was like the buttercream had been crusted over, which it hadn’t, And it looked like I was pulling the buttercream creating big holes and I don’t know what the deal is. I was even using hot water on my spatula so I had to just put it in the refrigerator and let it sit and then I used a paper towel to finish, smoothing it, which that worked, but I don’t know what the deal was? Would you have a suggestion?
I tried a stencil last weekend and parts of the stencil didn't stick to the chilled cake even though I pressed the room temperatures buttercream through the openings in the stencil. Do you have any suggestions for this?
First guess would be that maybe the buttercream needed to be thinned down a little for the stenciling. It should be aboit the consistency of peanut butter;) But it has happened to me too!
