- 1995 Wrangler YJ front brake caliper install.
My brake calipers froze!! Friday I changed the brake line and cleaned the caliper, that did not work. We took a trip to visit Matthew's family on Saturday morning and most of the afternoon we had rain. Church on Sunday. A quick Pizza lunch and I started the 1 hour job of changing the front calipers...... 4 hours later I finished. The new calipers had some burrs in the banjo threads causing issues with the fitting.O'Reilly's help me out with some thread cleaners and we are now good to go. This is a how to video and not meant to be a definitive guide to caliper replacement. The MightyVac made bleeding the brakes a breeze.
Parts: 18-4340S and 18-4339S O'Reilly www.oreillyauto.com
Good help when there was an issue with burrs in the Banjo threads.
Tools: 1/2, 9/16, 3/8 inch and 12mm wrenches. Sockets if needed.
Brake fluid and MightyVac for bleeding the brakes afterwards.

Glad it helped!
Thanks, brother! Getting ready to do this on my YJ, but she ain't in as good of shape as yours! Much respect for the upkeep of your YJ, it looks new!
Thank you - I know its a bit late randomly a ton of comments started showing up??
Very clear video and instructions. 🔥🔥🔥
Glad it was helpful!
I think you showed the grease at the beginning but didn’t show where to use it. I’ll try to make a video when I change mine and show where to grease the calipers. I have done this on one of my XJs (exact same parts as the YJ) and our KK. I will also probably be changing the YJ rotors. Great video. Thanks!
I put a link above this about what to lube.
@@FloridaJeepRides good stuff. Thanks!
thanks, very helpful. clear and simple directions.
Hey what size lift and tires are you running? Or maybe a separate video on how your jeep is set up.
2 1/2 inch lift. I know its a bit late randomly a ton of comments started showing up??
Awesome.. Thanks for this FloridaJeepRides
Any time!
nice tutorial.
Thank you - just finding all the posts that youtube did not tell me about.
Used a 94 Chevy C1500 for my front brakes.. Had to grind down the side with a dremel... But it worked
As long as it works. Our CJ had a good deal of fabrication and odd parts put on. Part of the tub lift was made from old mower deck rollers.
I like you video on changing your break calipers. Do you have a video on changing out the rotors?
Most of the time they come off pretty easy. I will be doing the breaks on the 2010 very soon and will make one then. Thank you for watching.
I’m about to do this as well, front driver’s side locked up while I was on a gravel road and spun me around and right in the ditch, reminded me of my bull riding days lol
Also are you running double wheel spacers??
I had them with the stock Sahara rims. The 12.5” wide tires rubbed. They have been on for 5 years or more. I am not a fan and will eventually get the right rims to take them off.
