@@leboeuf05 them mowers are self propelled. Weight is around 250lbs with that roller on them. 3 guys gets 7 greens to mow every morning. About 6 miles of walk mowing each with a clean-up lap if needed.

You don't realize that grass converts CO2 to usable oxygen while capturing carbon emissions. It also helps to reduce temperatures. Water is not destroyed when put onto plants. Some is sent back to the atmosphere while the rest is filtered by the ground and returns to the water table or in the case of most golf greens it is collected by drainage and diverted to ponds to water with again.
Bermuda is usually used all over the course but a type of Bentgrass is used on the green. It doesn't go dormant in the winter like most grass. It still grows and needs to be cut all year but not so much compared to hot days.
As someone who does this for a living, the way he injected the plug back into the hole with the dirt falling out everywhere but the hole gives me nightmares...amateur...
The way he changes cup plugs is frustrating. Insert the entire core. Readjusting core height from the bottom of the hole cup by removing the soil. Never break apart a full 6 inch core of a new plug.
Ugh, such a waste of water. Satisfying to watch though. I'd love to see more courses that work with native plants and landscapes instead of relying on turf.
He didn’t get the grain of the plug turned properly with the overall grain in the green. 20 demerits! I have years of golf course maintenances experience and always took the time to ensure I got the grass grain back in properly. If not, a putt can be moved off track as it slows down toward the hole for a miss when it would have otherwise dropped. Grain affects direction of roll. It matters!
# 1 - too much dirt mess. I cut the hole without making a "plug" - one cut. No dirt, I use water if there is some. 20+ outworking all fellow employees where ever I may roam.

the water is probably to also maintain moisture in the ground. Even if the grass is already green, water would still have to be used
