Doubting the casting is something & doubting her beauty is something else. she's one of the most attractive actresses no doubt especially with her jaw line added even more just because she doesn't have a cute smooth oval Barbie face that doesn't mean she's less pretty lol it's just a different beauty + Don't forget she's real 🙃
I can’t think of the movie that Tyra banks was in years ago where she played a doll that came to life but I think comparing her look to Margot’s in this movie would have been an interesting vid. For me a big part of the Barbie look is really big pretty eyes and Tyra had those at the time.
Margot has such a feminine face. I don't know where you got the idea that a woman with a more defined jawline is a masculine trait. On the contrary, this is an important characteristic in women as well. If we were to think that way, then Monica Bellucci, Angelina Jolie, etc., all these beautiful women have 'masculine features'. Monica, for example, has a long face, but I don't think she has a "masculine face" like people say.
Casting directors didn’t choose Margot. Margot has her own production company that has released at least a couple films. She had the idea for the film after being courted by Mattel, and she asked Greta Gerwig to write it. If the rumors are true and Amy Schumer being the first pick to play the role, then Margot likely stepped up after Amy backed out. Now, why Mattel approached her I don’t know, but it definitely has more to do with her being a producer than with anything about how she looks.
Thank god they didn't go with Amy Schumer, she is terribly unlikeable, Margot doesn't exactly have the Barby look, but after seeing the trailer I believe she was the perfect choice,
To me the most look alike Barbie actrees was Heather Locklear. In the 80's she was a living replica of the doll. It's a shame they didn't do a Barbie movie back then with her.
She has a kinda classic-looking face, something I feel like wouldn't be considered as beautiful if she wasn't a celebrity, in this day and age. Her biggest plus-point is her teeth and eyes. While she has strong jawline and such, her eyes just take the focus away from them. I think her personality makes her even more beautiful, oh man, the way she smiles is so beautiful to watch. She looks very pretty from the side.

@@Ashley-km4qi I think it makes sense, if you watched Barbarella, Jane Fonda in that movie makes me think of a Barbie doll. Her niece, Bridget also could pull it off in her young days. I posted about Maria Sharapova, Natasha Henstridge, Cristina Applegate at least fifteen years ago and Joanna Krupa. I remembered Dakota Fanning. It's tough because there's the charisma, like Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde as pointed out by another person. If you don't limit the time a person lived is easier to find candidates. I don't know if you noticed someone's aging process, it's inevitable. Margot Robbie won't look like that forever although I hope she and everyone who cares about that to age gracefully as Jennifer Lopez, Lenny Kravitz and others like them.
She has that interesting/sexy mix of feminine-masculine features , but not to the point she is more masculine than feminine. That’s why she is attractive.
Since this barbie movie is more than just barbie looking, yes she’s perfect. If it’s solely only barbie cosplay… younger actress with more girly features fits more. But honestly Margot is perfect those who complain about her being too old etc are just… out of touch with the real world
I did find myself looking at her closeups in the movies and marveling at how old she looked (same with Gosling. Mainly their skin quality) but when you really consider what Barbies are meant to represent- not just a pretty face, but also remarkably successful women, it kind of works. It takes time to build a success career or to master a skill, so it make senses for her to look a bit older
I don’t like how they always focus on jawline and structure of the face. She has also a great smile and mouth like Julia roberts have and she is smart and funny and attractive because she has charisma. Beauty is not a mathematic science only.
Hello ! I don’t know if you might see this or not, but may I suggest a video about attractiveness across countries ? Because surprisingly in opposition to general beauty preferences for example, I would get highly complimented when travelling to European countries in comparison to my current Asian country. ( For more context I could be labeled as white passing as I have pale skin with black hair and close to typical white features, but even in my country when they value those same features as the standard, I get significantly less complimented here than when I travel to Europe). Saw this happening for many people too across social media
all this analysis yet everyone's missing the fact that she's one of the producers and she said she basically casted herself in the movie (with suggestion from the director, greta gerwig). i think she's perfectly casted for the movie but yeah, she did it herself! not some broad panel of casting directors doing facial analysis
To those who keep saying "she's not Barbie", "she's unattractive to be Barbie" yadayada, tell me who else that is age appropriate, is an actress and with Barbie-like proportions would be more fitting? Because according to imdb the other choice was Gal Gadot, and I sure prefer Margot to Gal. I see some people suggesting Dove Cameron and Amanda Seyfried. Dove had already underwent plastic surgery during the making of the movie and her foxy eyes + super plump lips are so NOT Barbie. Amanda could probably pass as Barbie with Hollywood magic but I find her beauty too ethereal for a commercial doll. Other suggestions are always "young XYZ" but let's face it we've yet to create a time machine so they're out of the question. To me, Margot is the best choice both because of her looks and Hollywood status. I'd argue for Teresa Palmer, Emma Mackey or even Ella Purnell but the hype won't be as high if it were them on the poster.
Riley Keough would be a good choice. I think Margot was casted for her personality and the hopes that she would bring in an audience even tho all her movies are flops.
Amanda Seyfried would've been accurate. The woman can act too. Margot is overrated and so is Gal Gadot. I'd heard they were considering Anne Hathaway too, wonder why they didnt go that route, cuz Anne is truly a doll
I was really relieved when I saw they choose an actress that looks like Barbie, I get so frustrated when the actor/actress doesn't resembles the character. But I didn't like Ryan as Ken, I don't think he looks like ken.

Margot was/is the PERFECT pick for Barbie. However, somebody more attractive, and with a stronger jawline should have been picked for Ken, rather than Ryan.
It’s her plastic surgery/work she’s had done. She was average looking on Neighbours in Australia before she got into Hollywood movies and had work done

The first time someone told me I looked like Barbie was when I was 17 yo... and I'm short. It's about idealistic measurements, a slim hourglass shape, FEMININE facial features, long hair and a distinctive OVERALL appearance. Idealistic OG Barbie measurements for real life: 34-36 D/DD- 24-34. Iconic 90's Playmate/model was THE closest equivalent to this idealistic beauty standard. Other examples: Jenny McCarthy, Sophia Vergara, Dolly Parton, Jenna Jameson, other successful Playboy Playmates, etc., etc. Margot Robbie is gorgeous - no doubt. But Pamela Anderson is a better example of a real-life "attainable" Barbie. Edit: I forgot the 'Feminine' facial features.
34 is way too small for bust and hips, even on a 24 waist. I have a pretty small frame, 42 bust, 26 waist, 43 hips and I still sometimes feel like I'm not curvy enough. Dolly Parton bra size is also probably like 28J or 26K.

You can obviously tell face wise John Travolta is more attractive just by looking at the features. But theres something about Nicholas Cage that made everyone choose his good looks no matter what. And its odd bc he has some ugly features. It doesnt make sense but hes absolutely beautiful
I just watched a video spanning photos of Margot from early 20s to now, it is undeniable that she's had work done most obviously buccal fat removal, eyelid surgery and a nose job. I really thought she was a natural beauty. She used to have a plump, round, youthful face and button nose. She does look beautiful on camara but the buccal fat removal has aged her because her lower cheeks have started to sink in making her look older than 33. A wide square jaw can only do so much. Angelina jolie is another one who used to have a round face, nose and eyes but had lots of work done, her sculpted cheeks are almost cartoonish. But Hollywood loves that because it translates well on camara, more angles and contrast.
That's why I'm never doing buccal fat surgery even if I have a plump face, when you age without gaining weight you already lose some buccal fat and with the surgery it's just too much loss. I don't know why these actresses do it when they can just wait. I do think her and Angelina look stunning, though, Angelina's bigger problem is being too skinny:(

@@8RGLI agree! And think that it’s actually what makes the movie so popular and people look after it. They are not trying to be “different” just for sake of being different.
I think a younger candice swanepool looked very Barbie
@LGR8 no Dove Cameron has a short baby face. Not like barbie
Her masculine jawline contrasted with her very feminine facial features makes her look like one of those female heroines in pre-Raphaelite paintings.
Interesting .. right off the bat, i think the wideness of her jaw/cheekbones is perfectly ideal. I personally have a more narrow face, and wish it looked a bit more square/defined. But everyone's face is different and can pull off different features in their own way!
0:36 I would disagree, the women who are considered most beautiful, models in particular, have masculine characteristics, chiseled jawlines, and high cheekbones, and their bone structure is not what you'd call delicate. She is a great choice because she's super pretty and you believe her when she acts all bubbly.
pointy jaws are in, like kirsten stewart and the kardashians, emma watson
So very true. In all decades the most striking looking people have androgynous features... Audrey Hepburn, Brooke Shields, Angelina Jolie, Montgomery Clift, James Dean, Rob Lowe, Brad Pit and this decade.. Timothy Chalamet and the majority of the top models
@@shumiali754 audrey hepburn and angelina jolie absoultely don't have androgynous features. Audrey had huge eyes and a round face. Brooke Shields also had a round face.
@@Ash-nh6li this is the current Western beauty standard as they're softer in some other countries, but you're right. I think that's also the fact that the most attractive people do NOT have the perfect "average" face, but they have 1-2 "flaws" that make them stand out, usually it's some feature being "overly" big or chiseled - that makes them memorable.
@@shumiali754 yes, I sometimes see women with the perfect "oval" face and balanced featured on the street and they're really pretty and would be almost anyone's taste, but the thing is - you forget about ever seeing them 5 minutes later. Angelina Jolie's cheekbones and jawline combined with a lot of her more feminine featured give her some "royal" look that is simply breathtaking.
Doubting the casting is something & doubting her beauty is something else.
she's one of the most attractive actresses no doubt especially with her jaw line added even more just because she doesn't have a cute smooth oval Barbie face that doesn't mean she's less pretty lol it's just a different beauty
+ Don't forget she's real 🙃
I can’t think of the movie that Tyra banks was in years ago where she played a doll that came to life but I think comparing her look to Margot’s in this movie would have been an interesting vid. For me a big part of the Barbie look is really big pretty eyes and Tyra had those at the time.
And also Margot's large smile is similar to Barbie's!
A huge notable feature - and alluded to in the thumbnail - is her smile in my opinion, I thought they would go into more detail on that :)
I think she is gorgeous but her with her personality it makes her stunning
Casting directors didn’t choose Margot. Margot has her own production company that has released at least a couple films. She had the idea for the film after being courted by Mattel, and she asked Greta Gerwig to write it. If the rumors are true and Amy Schumer being the first pick to play the role, then Margot likely stepped up after Amy backed out. Now, why Mattel approached her I don’t know, but it definitely has more to do with her being a producer than with anything about how she looks.
Thank god they didn't go with Amy Schumer, she is terribly unlikeable, Margot doesn't exactly have the Barby look, but after seeing the trailer I believe she was the perfect choice,
Exactly. I don't think most are aware she's actually a producer of the film
Thanks qoves studio for the effort you put in your video I learned alot❤❤❤
Love Margot Robbie.
Love Barbie.
Love your work.
Great job, thank you 🥰
To me the most look alike Barbie actrees was Heather Locklear. In the 80's she was a living replica of the doll. It's a shame they didn't do a Barbie movie back then with her.
I'd never heard of her. Just googled. You're absolutely right. Spitting image.
now that looks like barbie!
Shes a barbie but margot is way more barbie than her.
I think Margot Robbie is more attractive but I agree I think the woman you mentioned looks more like her
She looks like Barbie but Margot is more attractive objectively
She has a kinda classic-looking face, something I feel like wouldn't be considered as beautiful if she wasn't a celebrity, in this day and age. Her biggest plus-point is her teeth and eyes. While she has strong jawline and such, her eyes just take the focus away from them.
I think her personality makes her even more beautiful, oh man, the way she smiles is so beautiful to watch. She looks very pretty from the side.
i agree so much with what you said
No one would be considered as beautiful if they weren't celebrities. Celebrityhood increases attractiveness

Don't be delusional. Of course she'd be considered attractive.
Margot is actually a producer on Barbie so I don't think casting directors approached her for the role like they would with any other film. That being said, I can see why her face is a good physical fit for Barbie, especially her big smile!
Ryan looks like he could play Barney if they make a new Flinstones movie. I'd cast him right away if I was the director.
She’s naturally attractive

I don’t know. She was definitely beautiful during her ‘Wolf of wall steeet’ era. I’m not sure if she’s got buccal fat removal or something but her face looks a bit more gaunt giving her an older appearance. Still cute but it’s made her mouth look super wide to me. I don’t know 🤷🏼♀️
Her sense of humor and the fact she loves Harry Potter and eating is attractive to me.
yeah its definitely the fact she likes to eat what makes her attractive 🤡🤡🤡
Her jaw area is just too good
Young Charlize Theron would be the perfect Barbie imo, bc she has oval face shape like Barbie does and Margot is square.
Candice Swanapoel is irl Barbie, both face and body wise, especially in her younger days before she got fillers, too bad she's not an actress lol.
Model Frida Aasen is a real life Barbie you should Google her but she's not an actress either
what’s the point of saying a younger version of someone would be ideal if we’re talking about present?
@@Model_Roeshe looks exactly like margot just skinnier
@@Ashley-km4qi I think it makes sense, if you watched Barbarella, Jane Fonda in that movie makes me think of a Barbie doll.

@@Model_Roe Too much forehead for Barbie
Margo is the perfect choice for Barbie.🎀
I think directors also took into consideration the fact that she can play, it's not photoshoot, it's a movie.
But honestly Margot is perfect those who complain about her being too old etc are just… out of touch with the real world
I agree 100% she is perfect for the role
Tbh every celebrity looks gorgeous to me idk what y'all fighting about
She is lovely.
She has money. That's what makes her beautiful. If she was poor then no one would bat an eye
Balance seems to be part of the special sauce
0:50 jfc she looks so good from every angle its not even funny
Well I guess I will say it. Can we get one for Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio now?
Dove looks like a brat doll
Riley Keough would be a good choice. I think Margot was casted for her personality and the hopes that she would bring in an audience even tho all her movies are flops.
@@wckoshka8141YESS she’d be the perfect Cloe
Teresa Palmer for sure!
Amanda Seyfried would've been accurate. The woman can act too. Margot is overrated and so is Gal Gadot. I'd heard they were considering Anne Hathaway too, wonder why they didnt go that route, cuz Anne is truly a doll
Her face is like the perfect combination of strength vs femininity and neotanty
I was really relieved when I saw they choose an actress that looks like Barbie, I get so frustrated when the actor/actress doesn't resembles the character. But I didn't like Ryan as Ken, I don't think he looks like ken.

A woman with a more defined jawline becomes more sensual and attractive; they have a perfect face.
In my opinion, female faces similar to Margot's are ideal for women, and for men, the ideal type of faces are those similar to Javier Bardem's or Hexum's.
In western culture you are absolutely correct. Not for East Asian cultures though. Neotony is the name of the game there.

Could you do more analysis on unique faces? Rami Malek or FKA Twigs come to mind.
Yeah I can’t imagine a real life Barbie with those proportions…. Average proportions, sure but no big tittied small waisted of abomination😂
34 is way too small for bust and hips, even on a 24 waist. I have a pretty small frame, 42 bust, 26 waist, 43 hips and I still sometimes feel like I'm not curvy enough. Dolly Parton bra size is also probably like 28J or 26K.
@@prettywithafatty2227 Idealistic iconic Playboy Playmate measurements are 34-36 D/DD- 24-34!! Those ARE the standard measurements of the idealistic sex symbols of our time!! That's a great suggestion, I hope he does a video on her specifically and how that mix works! Her eyes specifically, they've always "lit up" to me.
Her role as Harley quin the psycho was so hot 🥵
I do think her and Angelina look stunning, though, Angelina's bigger problem is being too skinny:(
I don’t think that she’s had that much work done, but I definitely think that sun damage got her.
