    Solid oak top 1905 - 1920 craftsman '30s would be veneer with quarter sawn like that

    I had this exact tabletop (with more distinctive ball-and-claw feet) in college. I believe these are 48" round and extend a further 50" with the help of five 10" leaves, quite an exceptional range. Seems a shame to leave it like this -- replace those leaves!

    Your thorough work results in an antique table that looks brand new. I can appreciate that (you do beautiful work), but I’m not sure it adds to the magnificence of the piece… and it detracts from its provenance.

      Original patina would be nice but refinishing brings more value for resale

    Why glue the apron? You did everything right until then.
