Better than that Scotty Fairno anyway. I know those narrow trousers were in fashion in the'60s (like they are now) but I think they look really scruffy.
Thank you for showing what the regular Joe and Jane experience rather than the posh celebrity with all-access welcome. What we usually see on UA-cam or TV (yes, I’m American) is nothing like how we’d experience it in person. Delilah is a delight, too!
A wonderful guide to Goodwood Revival. I've been several times and this is far more informative and entertaining for people who are considering going than anything you'll find on ITV. My only advice would be that it gets busier every year and Friday is no longer the 'quiet day', even though it only has one Race. Some people may not know the connection between the Earl's Court Motor show and the Goodwood Revival. Earl's Court was part of the Duke of Richmond's Estate, hence the name, and the wonderful Earl's Court Exhibition Centre was built on their land, now disgracefully demolished. I always used to attend the London Motor Show there, back in the day.
Went to a historic racing event here in Sweden yesterday, really enjoyed it. And the first thing you do is to upload this video and make me feel like I've experinced nothing? xD xD xD Nah, 'twas lovely seeing this video, and I actually had no idea there were sooo much other things going on besides the racing too, that really amazed me! Also, I gave you a thought yesterday. In the fancy car park at that event a Morris Marina TC Coupe was parked. I thought to myself you'd probably fancy it. ^^ Thanks for uploading!! Greetings from Sweden
Thanks Steph for the reminder of what a great weekend I had with two mates. The weather was rubbish and the camp site tracks were ghastly but the racing was something else. It’s best described as being in a vintage parallel universe for three days, quite magical.
9:00 In the early 1970s I often accompanied my dad to get various parts for whatever BMC/BLMC car he had at the time. They had a workshop, parts department, showroom and even a petrol station. The buildings are still there, occupied by local servicing and repair businesses.
You captured the garbage weather - we travelled 703 miles in our '72 Triumph TR6 - round trip/tour from Chester to Goodwood for all 3 days, first visit, and depsite the weather, we'll go again. Even managed 3-up in the 6 when my daughter arrived on Friday night for the Sat/Sun of the meeting
The one thing about the Goodwood Festival of Speed is the fashions both men and women the mechanics inthere overalls the flat caps the suits the boots and the dresses ect people really get into the spirit of the event and of course Kev looking very dapper in his suit and of course the cars including the pedal cars
You can only get a Paddock Pass if you are a member of the GRRC, or the GRRC Fellowship, (you can have two per member, and you can lend them to other people as long as not more than two people are in there at any one time) but that only applies to the three sections of paddocks in the middle, the other two areas, next to the hangar, and to the north of the pedestrian tunnel, are free for everyone to walk round.
Thanks for sharing Goodwood Revival with us Steph. More lovely period outfits. Awesome to see Kev in costume enjoying himself too. You're so lucky to live in the UK. 😊👍
Steph, Well that does it. Next year I’m taking the 5000 mile flight in England to attend “the Goodwood Revival 2025” The British have so many so fantastic classic car related events. California has a ton of great car events too but I’d rather go back to England. Please let me know if there is a specific website to handle accommodation etc. “Hopefully” I can bring one or two cars back to Utah with me! Thanks again for all the fine work you do to share this channel with the rest of us! Russell🇺🇸🇬🇧
Goodwood offer camping pitches on estate fields which get booked up pretty quickly, (and this year due to rain were pretty muddy!) or the extremely limited number of rooms at the Goodwood Hotel which are pretty expensive normally but are *really* expensive during the big events. If you want to stay anywhere close you will need to book a hotel, b&b or holiday let and because of demand they book up very quickly and are expensive. Everything close by is probably booked up already since the 2025 dates have been released (12th to 14th of September). Goodwood provide a free shuttle bus from Chichester Station on event days so you could stay further away near a station and come in by train, but if you have several people in your group the train tickets might get pricey overall. Possibly the only practical option for you will be a b&b several miles away plus a rental car.
Steph, when was your opening shot with the umbrella standing in front of the Land Rover 4 wheel drive, where there's SNOW in a pile in front of it and snow is covering the pine trees in winter white? 😮 Is that clip from earlier last winter? Just wondering? Love your channel, keep up the Great Job that you're doing!!! Thanks again.
Oh right, thanks. I didn’t get a good look at that on the day. It was tipping it down when I was initially in that area. I go for one day and have to balance the split between watching races I want to see and wandering around the other attractions. Looks like a nice Mini that’s got bent though.
Am I remembering a "Goodwood Festival of Speed" from the 70's? Is it a different event, held at the same venue, or completely different? I saw one of the comments refer to it so I don't think I'm completely manufacturing the name.
Yeah i haf a chat with them about it. Its used regularly. Id not seen one before. The only old Rolls ive seen where the driver's compartment is more luxurious than the rear seating! Usually the chauffeur gets the raw deal!
Ace video. dont be silly, all your videos are always rich in content. i was wondering if you had a cold, with your croaky voice. three different outfits, was it one for each day? All were really lovely. lots of love from New Zealand ohhh!!!!! sorry Kev, you did look like the bees knees aswell!
Wonderful video. That Rambler was a product of the American Motors corporation. AMC was a merger of Nash (think Austin Metropolitan) and Hudson.
My childhood family car was a 1960 Rambler.
idriveaclassic, amazing video keep up the amazing work
What an impressive event, and you looked great in the period outfits.
You look GREAT!!!!!!!!
Better than that Scotty Fairno anyway. I know those narrow trousers were in fashion in the'60s (like they are now) but I think they look really scruffy.
Kev in a suit, not a boiler one this week 😂 Steph had more changes than Beyonce, looking lovely 😘

Steph this is probably my favourite video of yours. So much is going on and so much stuff was covered.
Nice piece Steph, great job.Looking good too!
Thank you for showing the motorcycles. Move your passion one step and embrace classic and vintage bikes, there is something beautiful about them.
I love how vintage style is being embraced at these events. I'm off to Welshpool 1940s soon - it takes over the whole town! Lovely content, Steph.
Great review, thanks for taking the trouble to do it as ever you look brilliant in your outfits.
Yeah agreed. I lost count of how many different outfits. 😳 I think Steph. was at Goodwood for a week. 😃

Great video and what a fabulous place, Steph.
S & A were acquired by Henlys in the late 60's 👍

Vintage Kev - he's had that suit from new! ;-) Been watching the racing, but it's nice to see behind the scenes as well. Cheers.
😂😂 your very cheeky squire 😂😂😂
Steph's Stunning dress. 👏
Hi Am from Sri Lanka and I been there for the event in 2016 what fabulous event hope to come again.

My wife and I were at a car show in the USA. My wife screamed out...there is a Teddy Bear! Thanks Steph for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you so much for your video Steph, and may I say that you are looking great, 👍.
Great piece. Thank you.
Excellent video and report on one of the best events of the year. You improve your reports and videos all the time. Thanks Bob
Thanks, Steph! Great! (again)
A treat for the eyes for sure, so much fun!
That car park is wonderful!!
Great video Steph thanks.
Fabulous Steph.
Loved your wardrobe changes !😊
Marvelous video Steph thank you what a great festival 😮
Thanks for another great video Steph.
I was there getting wet and muddy Friday and Saturday, absolutely brilliant as ever.
Amazing as always 🎉🎉 thank you ❤
Fantastic video Steph, you look great, liked and shared the video to a few car groups in the States ❤ 🎉
That was great, thank you for sharing it
Thank you for making a wonderful video
Thanks!
You’re so kind. Thank you ❤️❤️
@@idriveaclassic Your welcome Steph.
I don't know why but the driver in the 136 Lotus Cortina at 2:20 looked to me like a mix between Nigel Mansell & Ronnie Corbett
What an Excellent video!! Maybe next year I can hope the pond and make it there!
The car park itself would make a great day out.
Lovely outfits!Love your rain bonnet!
Really good work. cheers

Thank you! Very helpful!
To the woman with the gray coat and tan hat at 6:06: It's not polite to point! Princess Grace wore that exact style of hat, in a different color.
Briefly: I’m impressed! Thanks Steph… 😊

Was that Tom Thumb sitting in the No 136 Consul?
like your red rain hat
And there’s our A40 at the end of the row again.
Arm signals are also used by us motorcyclists, because bulbs often blow and electrics go haywire in the wet on occasion. 😇
Looks like a magnificent fedtival. I need to investigate, looks like alot of walking, maybe a little taxing
Thanks for sharing Goodwood Revival with us Steph. More lovely period outfits. Awesome to see Kev in costume enjoying himself too. You're so lucky to live in the UK. 😊👍
Great video Steph. I didn't recognise Kev for a start, until you said it was him!
Ahh thanks John! Your kind donation will go into the petrol fund 😉 xx

I think if you go to Goodwood Revival website they may have accommodation info. But don't leave it too long as places get booked up now .

outside the Rolex bit I reckon,
Ever heard of fake snow? 🤔
19:52 Martin Brundle there, finishing his grid walk
well who would have thought that Steph would be upstaged by Kev lol
Steph is the master, not myself gov 😅😅😅
@@kevinhirst4108 as always but you certainly looked the part Kev
@@a11csc thanks, most appreciated, it's a shame it was so wet, as my wife would have loved to share her outfit 🤩😉🤩
No explanation what is going on with the Mini in the thumbnail though? Never saw that on Sunday.
It’s part of the driving school segment early in the video. Simply an installation.

Someone needs to have a word with the Cortina driver at the very beginning about basic motorway lane discipline! 🤦🏻♂
It’s fine, the motorway was empty and it was a planned move 😉.
@@idriveaclassic It's precisely because the motorway was empty that he should not have been in an overtaking lane. 😉
