Impressions from 2010: STENA SAGA to Göteborg

Stena Line on 19 March 2020 sadly announced the permanent closure of its Oslo-Fredrikshavn route, so far operated by the venerable roro-passenger ferry STENA SAGA.
Stena said that the Coronavirus crisis and the massive loss of bookings had made the route economically unviable.
Maybe this would have happened anyway, since this 'cruise' oriented route has become a bit of an outlier in the Stena network over the years. Still it is sad to see the route go and the ship (presumably) sold.
Let me take the occasion to share a few impression from ten years ago. In spring of 2010, a friend of mine and I drove from Hamburg to Frederikshavn, just to sail on STENA SAGA. We timed the trip so that we could catch the ship's single weekly trip to Stena's hometown Gothenburg.
Apologies for the poor quality of the clip. I filmed this on a very cheap pocket camera that I had ten years ago, long before cellphones could take high definition movies. Hope you enjoy it anyway.
I will miss STENA SAGA. Most recently I always waved her 'Hello' when I was outbound from Oslo on Colorline and the ships would meet in the Oslofjord.
