Apologize for any voices you hear in the background, my husband is working from home all day and our walls are thin!
Once again, sending healing light towards all those affected by these massacres. And particularly we should help stop spreading Asian hate based on fear, fetish, or suspicion.

It's always nice to hear your voice and watch your videos again. I haven't been able to keep up in the past few months thanks to more and earlier hours at work, but I'm trying to catch up! Anyway, this video message is very needed. The biggest issue I have found is people having intelligence to respond to something but no wisdom to properly cleared that intelligence. And so they rely on the fight or flight response and go into survival mode without truly assessing the supposed threat and its cause in the first place. I know we all hope for much better in this world and we will achieve it some day, but I believe these sort of things are going to have to happen to wake some people up. My heart and prayers just go out to the families of the victims and I am praying there aren't going to be any new ones.💜

i think this resonates with what you said... the quote always made me think that he meant not to treat good wisdom scientifically, that is to say, not to try to hack at it to see if it might break under some condition.

Hrm, I find that I don't particularly agree with this quote - which might be the first time I have ever disagreed with Tolkien!

“Break” means to break apart or harm something, so to Tolkien that’s leaving a path of wisdom to not do harm to others. Because those who are already wise, don’t do harm to others intentionally to see what something is....like the Elves of Middle-Earth or Gandalf. They already know better with their wisdom what things are through deeper inquiry and insight.
This was a quote about Saruman and his new path of destruction...leaving his wisdom behind him while siding with Sauron.
Can you explain why you don’t agree with him? I would love to hear your perspective of it.

@@ElvenWisdom If by "break" one also means "harm", then I agree . I only disagree with the notion that to "break a thing" is synonymous with to also "harm a thing". There are a great many things from which we gain wisdom in their breaking, where breaking means to cast off "grow out of" or to leave shackles, to break something down to see nuance instead of blanket generalizations - where these lead to better, more empathetic knowledge, practices and wisdom. Where there is unconsenting harm though, I agree with you/Tolkien. Thank you for giving me some context there.

@@FaeProductions definitely agree with you on the other perspective there.
I “broke” up with exes before because they simply didn’t align with my needs in a partnership. So I do get that breaking things off from you can be not harmful, but actually good for you and others in the long run, but yes this quote is more about leaving the path of “knowing better”, so I come from his perspective here in my addressing it.
Thank you for sharing in that other side. Nice chatting ❤️
