  • Recent developments on Russia-Ukraine war have highlighted the evolving nature of warfare in the modern era. Ukraine, facing the constant threat of Russian aggression, has found an ingenious and cost-effective solution to counter the formidable armored might of its neighbor: cheap DIY drones. These small, seemingly inconspicuous flying devices are proving to be a David against the Goliath of advanced Russian tanks worth millions. Footage showed how T-90M tanks were targeted and taken out using low-cost, DIY drones. As we witness million-dollar tanks surrender to relatively affordable DIY drones, one can't help but questions: are these million-dollar tanks truly as powerful as they are often advertised? or could it be their power is somewhat overrated?
Join us as we delve into the dramatic battle between million-dollar tanks and cheap DIY drones, while also uncovering the secret behind its development!

Long range suicide drones. The cost is relatively small. $3000 for the engine. $3000 for the airframe. The reason under $1500. ie. Propeller, servos, computer. $100 for the explosive. That's for something with a 1000 range. To see what that means, get out a map and see what's 1000 miles from the UKR border. They can dip in and out of cloud, go at night go in a swarm. They can use phones to call to state where they are, or you even use a satelite phone. From those that are shot down, you change the route and evolve the attack.
Top of the list, oil refineries and oil depots.
On the jamming, the IRA terrorists were using RC controlled bombs. Then the army worked this out. They started broadcasting detonate messages from time to time, and took the terrorists out.

That makes it pretty easy for me to feed the jammer's signal into a $5 phase detector and set the drone to fly at the jammer. $350,000 jammer, meet $400 drone.

If you hit the right spot yes. This is usually HEAT munition which will definitely be enough to penetrate the top or the back of the turret which is usually where ammo is stored in these tanks. If you manage to make the ammo cook off like most of these videos, it explodes violently and the turret usually goes flying especially in Russian tanks.

Good afternoon. I am from Ukraine and generally agree with the author. The only thing I would like to point out is that changing the FPV frequency of the drone makes it possible to strike despite countermeasures. Now the direction of drones is very, very developed both in Ukraine and in our enemy. Don't lag behind, learn from Ukrainian officers. We are faced with the fact that our Ukrainian infantrymen, who were trained in the UK, can't apply most of the tactics taught to them by British instructors. Most of the doctrine is outdated! Even in US doctrine today small kamikaze drones are seen as a toy :) only a dozen of these toys can drive and partially kill a platoon of soldiers.
