I have an Old Town Trip 10 Angler DLX. I bought a 48” Thermarest sleeping pad on eBay for $30, draped it over the stock seat and secured it with piece of paracord around the base. It’s super comfortable, you can adjust the firmness, makes for extra floatation and you can take it out and sit/lay down on it.
Found GCI bleacher seats on marketplace. Found two for $25. LOVE this hack. My Vapor is so much more fun and comfortable. Thank You!!

After 10 months how do you like this? I have a similar seat in my old town dirigo 120 and have been scouring the web for a solution to the terrible seat.
Does your back rest slide out or move around much? Seeing that the bottom isn't fastened to anything I was curious
I thought about that when experimenting with this project. When I got it together it seemed to be tight enough that I didn't have to attach it. It rides just fine. Transporting is where I ran into a small issue. When you try to fold the seat down it doesn't fully fold down. But being that its not connected it allows the bottom to slide out about 2" making it possible to fold down long enough to transport. In the end, I think it was worth it. I know my back does lol.
