There is none, and will never be, another Moody Blues. The absolute best ever. I'm 68 years old
I feel the same
I agree. They are musical geniuses. I've been blessed my whole life to have them as my soundtrack.
@@kenreeve6549 me too.
68 as well, I was just starting college when this album dropped. I still have that LP. I hope my kids realize what they have one day.
@@davidhale8515 68 here too- (well almost) An ex- girlfriend once told me she's going to make sure all their albums, plus a CD player, get buried with me in my coffin. Then I will smile forever.
I've never heard anyone say this but John Lodge is one awesome bass player. Can I get an amen?
without question.......moody blues music has the best beat.......
Yes. Allways on the beat but also an important part of Moodies polyphonic music where melodic bits and pieces are shared between the instruments. Lodge's style is so tasteful. Even capable of those super fast jazzrock runs, I have only heard him use that once.
the bass line on eternity road - album version - is superb. and, the overall fusion like-sound for the last minute or so of the track is awesome moody blues…..
Amen!
Hallelujah!
About to turn 76. They have always been along with my journey
As a teenager i was introduced to the moody blues by good friends . Now I'm seventy five . Most of these friends were taken by war , diseases or just old age and accidents . I love the music as much as ever . Somehow , i know they do too , somehow .
Hey John...I'm 74 and retired with alot of free time. I could sit and listen to the Moodies for hours. There is so much to discover all over again in their music. Suddenly I'm 20 with my life ahead of me. I, too have lost close friends over the years of whom I dearly miss but I live with the hope of seeing them again someday.
No turntable best I can do
*The Moody Blues are forever a miracle in my life*
Me too
I am so lucky to be alive after many close encounters with death and have been with so many good friends who are pure of heart
Today the day of the funeral of my brother. He loved to hear the sensitive music of the Moody Blues. Tank You
May he RIP 💙
Just when Heads were being kicked around, saying none could read, play "real" instruments, or write 'real' music, up popped the Moodies and their otherworldly orchestral stories and adventures on vinyl... Blew that whole theory out of the water. Like all here, I've loved them since their first album.
As I review the music of the times, there was lots of commercial rubbish. But the real gems are there.
I got hooked on them while in the navy. West pack. The stuff out there today in my opinion isn't worth the time of day.
@@robertdriscoll9673 Awww. Remember, after all, we had some pretty funky, one-hit wonders and false starts. It's all good.
Saw them in Dallas. Memorial Auditorium. 1973,or74. Sitting there waiting. All of a sudden, house lites go dark. Sitting there in the dark for just a few. Then, all of sudden spotlites come on , there on the stage!!!! Started off Lovely to see you again!!!! It was great!!! Still listening in 2023. In 10 days, I'll be 73. So long ago!!!
Yes! I remember it, too. ( although it was the in the nineties ) Yeah, there's more PAST than there is FUTURE. What was I doing all those years??
I'm going to be 71 in May. Moody Blues is and always will be my ❤️
Parabéns Sr . Tô nos 65 e desde meus 11 anos ouvindo Moody . Saúde 🥂

I love the moody blues, God Bless them, Elizabeth
I hard to believe music of this caliber even exists...its simply mind-blowing1 enjoy this rare gift of beauty and bliss!
I am the same age as you. I first heard them when i was about 10 when certain tracks on their Days of Future Passed album played on AM radio. A couple years later, my older brought bought To Our Children's Children's Children and i used to sneak into his room to listen to it. And I was a fan thereafter...never got to see them in concert though ;--(
@@factenter6787 I have gotten to see them several times and concert and let me tell you you can't beat seeing The Moody blues excellent excellent group 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
I’m 63 years old. I’ve been listening to the MB since I was 12 years old. They are simply the best. They played an important role in my life.
I will be 59 next month. I remember being in the back seat at the drive in. I was laying down I had my Panasonic radio and I remember hearing Nights in white satin. I was mesmerized back then. Still am ❤
With you all the way! I am 76 but they can still move me to tears! Blessings xxx
The Moody's fed my desire for more classical based Rock I liked through the late "60" and "70's. I remain grateful to this day and am now in my early '80's. This is music for a lifetime. Thanks to all of you Moody Blues musicians who might still be alive along with the arrangers, producers and all those who gave us this exceptional music that should continue to survive into the foreseeable future.
👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏
Well said, thank you, love ❤️ you all...
I’m in my 70’s but feel like I am in my twenty’s ……..
The vision they gave me back in 1970 is still with me today, 2023!
Me too
Thank you SO much for this compilation! I love the Moody Blues, and so did my husband, R.I.P.
♥
Takes me back, I'm 72 and is seems like yesterday when I used to listen to them - originality at its best
I'm 70, and still love to listen to these songs that have aged so well. I'm about to post one on bitchute and have picked "The Actor" for the sublime sections in it. Hard to beat Justin's voice.
I am 71 and still listen to them. I've been getting into Led Zeppelin lately more than I used to when I was young. Depends on what kind of mood I'm in at the time when I listen to both bands. I also like a band that came out in the early 90's called Radiohead. I also listen to a good bit of classical music. I still listen to the Beatles sometimes, especially George Harrison's solo music. John Lennon's music is still pretty good to me. Also like Eric Clapton and Electric Light Orchestra still. There are still other old bands I listen to sometimes but those are the main ones. The most recent band I like quite a bit is Radiohead.
All of my favorite bands are from England.
@@wilmahyche433 Rock on Wilma! I would have said the same.
To me they are the greatest bands that graced the earth. Their music can never be replaced….grew up with their music since I was a kid.
Still my favorite and I listen to them all the time although I am 62 now.
Nobody can imitate them…ever!!
Janell, near 66 and been listening to them since 1966 when got 1st radio. agreed with your comment no imitations possible
@@MrSadsack56 as great as that is ; a tribute bands bring the joy to follow on generation....hopefully
me I'm 63 but no joy here.....from a great musical family with classical /opera music every day...but now....
The wife treats them as "bubblegum music" and the boys scatter when I put them on. no chance to pass on to my new gen.
The best band, EVER!!!!!!! They are just beautiful and stunning in their song's... They make you drift off into another dimension!!!!!! Justin's voice is so dreamy, you close your eye's, your in a field of grass, looking up into the blue skies, feeling so very warm...❤️❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹🌹......
the hall of fame should have been inducted into the Moody Blues
Clever, see what you did there!! Took them way too long to be inducted, kinda like RUSH. The two groups are among the best, most influential ever.
Every album, every concert I could attend. Listening today at 75 still know the words. They better be on the other side. A long with my Lord and Creater...
I’m 75 and I agree, they were awesome. Especially to see them live!
For me, one of best group of musicians in my life. The albums are a form of story telling...
The songs, the music, the album covers, in combination with a classical orchestra is beyond my wildest dreams. There music is forever. 👬 I'm 70 years young!
I am 4 years your senior and I couldn't agree more with you Erwin! I've been fortunate to have seen them live 13 times and every concert was outstanding. My favorite band in my life for sure. 😊🎸🎤🔉
At 71, it seems we have had been blessed with a good time to be alive, especially with music such as this. The combination of lovely voices and instruments including classical. I can't believe how talented the groups of the 60's 70's were with their harmonies and originality. Somehow, music seemed to bring the best out of otherwise ordinary people.
@@60sfanatic Hi Ted, I do agree with your comment. It was a very special band in all its aspects. Keep listening. Regards, Erwin
@@60sfanatic - It's quite interesting that you say that, as I have found myself repeating to my family and friends that I m so grateful for growing up in the time period that I did! Looking at the darkening clouds in today's world causes me to embrace those feelings that much more. 😊
@@Loulovesspeed Yes indeed. You have to wonder what went so terribly wrong. The lyrics of the 1965 Jackie de Shannon song come to mind. "What the world needs now, is love sweet love. It's the only thing, that there is just too little of". Billy Joel's "Honesty" is another thing that has become so desperately hard to find. We surely need a "new normal" which would restore our humanity, but are heading into one that would eliminate it altogether. Along with all true beauty.
At 72 still loves the moodies and their music lives on and never seems to age.
...and if their music did age, would it be so bad? 🙂
something there outside...
"There ya go man, keep as cool as you can. Face piles of trials with smiles. It riles them to believe that you perceive the web they weave and keep on thinking free."
The best advice in these times...
Brilliant
"Somebody exploded an H bomb today...but it wasn't anybody I knew" - Ray Thomas , Dear Diary
To Our Children's Children's Children is truly a Masterpiece. Justin Hayward is a genius. Best song writer ever.💙💙💙💙
Couldn't agree more.
I seen them twice in concert and I was astoundish the sound this group had I'm 68yrs old and I was taken back by this great group.
@@johnhaggerty1907 I never had the privilege of seeing them live but saw many recorded concerts and their studio albums are magnificent. My very favorite band.💙
Peter Townsend too.
I've been listening to The Moody blues since I was 16. I love them there is none and will be none like The Moody I'm 69 and I'm still living it. Sitting out here on my deck barbecue and listening to them now
But are you sitting comfortably?😊😊
The older I get the more meaningfull they've become - if that's possible.

RIP Ray Thomas

I'm 67 and I couldn't agree with you more. the Moody Blues have been my absolute one and only since I first discovered them when I was 15 years old.
Me too, I was 16
Small world. I was 16 when I got my first Moody - loved them from the start
Same here - 15 years old and mesmorized by their music ever since!
Fifty years later...i am rediscovering this great music. They have survived most band,s and their critics as well.Well done Moodys.

Forever Autumn is not the Moody Blues.

@@BP-kx2ig strictly speaking, correct. but was often on stage show setlist so it is fairly well known as a Moodies' song.
Makes me really happy to see so many other people that feel like I do. I'm not alone on the burning planet. The Moodies were way before their time, they saw the future. They have always been in my heart💚 🌏
I'm obsessed with the moody blues glad I'm not the only one

Listening to them over 59 years, timeless, when all the pop garbage has been forgotten, they will still be there!

Thanks Moody Blues. 🎼 🎵🎵🎹🎹🎸🎸🎻🎷🎶🎶
Totally beautiful song and tLant
One of the best groups ever. You feel so relaxed just listening to them.
I "took" many seesaw rides back in the days! At 73 I lived through it all and I'm still running free from adhering to their rhythmic wisdom and sound advice. PEACE
Well said. I feel the same.
Me too... Certainly do not feel 73! but guess it happens to the best of us!
Their first 7 albums will never be bettered.
Agreed!
The fact that number is 7 is a testiment to their talent and hard work.
Listening to the moody blues reminding me of my teenage years in England your music is so beautyfull.and will be remembered love from south Africa ❤❤❤❤❤
I feel same...Hello from Northern Finland...we have 120cm snow here..
Powerful and noble spiritual inspiration behind the music and lyrics of the Moody Blues. Perhaps one of the greatest artistic contribution to the world culture in the 20th century. Their music (especially first 7 albums + eighth -- mystical numbers!) in terms of melody-rhythm-harmony + words reflects that what is the highest within the spiritual-cultural evolution of the West, that is, the bright side of the evolution of the consciousness soul (as it is explained by anthroposophicaly oriented spiritual science).
Seems to have "gone downhill" since. Appreciation of true beauty is being lost as if we are in danger of losing our humanity. (refer Yuval Harari)
@@60sfanatic Are you still putting out The Moody Blues songs? I love this but it shows it was posted 5 years ago.
@@debbie4503 Hi Debbie. Did you see the comment I have just made about problems I've had with several of my videos being blocked including an upgrade of this video? My aim has been to preserve the best songs of my era. So this was my selection for the Moody Blues. To which I wanted to add Watching and Waiting and For my lady.
The music of the Moody Blues in 1971 thru 1977 helped me to stay from drugs and alcohol abuse (during my wartime combat experiences and subsequent PTSD). I owe my life to the Hebrew God of the Bible and, in part to the music of the Moody Blues. After a 24 year U.S. Army career, a subsequent career in Aerospace and teaching in private international schools, I continue to listen and share my Moody Blues music collection.
I love you...& Yah xx
Sorry to hear about the PTSD. Interesting that you should attribute their music to helping stay away from drugs, as many would say some of the best music of the era was drug inspired. As one who has never done drugs of any kind, my impression is that artists such as Hendrix who did them went down hill in terms of the quality of their music. And I find any so called "psychedelic music" to be boring and unappealing. Would be interesting to know whether the Moody Blues attributed any of their best music to drugs. There certainly seems to be a "spiritual element". As a Christian, it does trouble me a little that my favorite Moodies song is probably "The Actor", in view of the theme of the album it comes from.
@@60sfanatic well said ; but i've dabbled these vices , but i could NEVER function while HIGH , always did my best paintings with clear mind ,just meditating for ever until inspiration matured into image and oil/canvas & what ever materials could be mounted to explode a 2D image into a 3D bombshell.
The Moody Blues where always their in the back ground meditating...mostly about awkwardness of love. For most time i stay modern so kids don't rage against the old man.
best of luck every one!!!
😁😉🤥😱💗💞
@@paullakowski2509 Thanks for sharing. "Awkwardness of love?" Can you explain? You have to feel sorry for the kids with the shallow, cold, soul-less world they have inherited. Shame on "baby boomers" I guess.
Thank you for your service ❤. You are truly loved.
God has blessed us with "The Moody Blues".
Short timer of 73 years.
I was a student nurse waiting for the results of my final exams. I went to the training school and found out I had passed! I walked back into the ward and Nights in White Satin was playing on the ward radio. I felt like I was in heaven and whenever I hear that track now, I remember the joy I felt at that moment. That was 1972. I’ve always loved the Moodys. Justin’s voice is so pure.
Thank you for your years of nursing service.
What a great memory Lyn! I was in college in 73 and home on leave for summer break and was invited to a friends house and he played Seventh Sojourn for me and I will never forget how it made me feel insomuch I immediately went out and bought all the albums! Fantastic memories of when I was 17!
Well...I liked this list. Mine would be a bit different, but isn't that what this is all about? As fans of this tremendous collection of talent, I think we all agree...this will never be duplicated, and we must keep it alive, and strong. Oh, how I miss the 60's and 70's!
Me too Pete. I was turned on to the Moodies while stationed in Germany with the US Army. Richard O'Brien (Crazy OB) from Colorado was responsible for my musical discovery. Have a nice day everybody.🙂
I miss the 60s and 70s music. Nothing ever like it was. The music now is not what I consider good ;music.
This is one of the few Bands, I actually play the full albums, especially the albums before 1975
I agree. Most albums in my experience only contain a few really good songs.
They've always been amazing but when Pinder was still with them, those 7 albums from late 60's early 70's were the pinnacle of their creative-artistic collective genius and still sound as good 50+yrs.later- geez, did I just say that?
TJKillip The core seven was the best.
Progressive Rock was the construct of the album theme first and the Two or three hits second. Moody Blues early albums, Beetles Abbey Road studio ones, Alan Parsons Project, Pink Floyd, America.... they told a story or had a progressive theme.
"Days of Future Passed" was my favorite for this method if construct. Alan Parson's Project "Pyramid" (death, loneliness and the afterlife), "Eye in the Sky", and PFs "Dark Side of the Moon" really work as a mental dwelling mood.
Most pop albums have two anchor songs (one per side) and some also pressed songs. Progressive rock albums were arranged like 60s symphony lps or 60s jazz lps in a story arc.
@@TJKillip the magnificent 7. All masterpieces.
Listening to the MB has been a lifelong religious experience for me.
I too enjoy their music, still, since the 1960s. They have a good message in their songs. They embraced the Baha'i Faith which you can learn about on wikipedia. I am a Christian, have embraced the Holy Bible as God's word to humanity and believe it to be the truth!
At 61, this sounds as beautiful as the first time I heard this some 45 years ago! Moody Blues comes from an era that never grows old, nor changes!!! Rock & Roll has so many variations, & there is so much said in their Musical Magic!!! ❤❤❤ Cherish each note!!! God Bless!!!

When I'm feeling down, the Moody Blues are my 'go to'! Their lyrics are so inspiring and their melodies so soothing, in no time I'm floating! Thank you so much!!!
Thank you. We can all do with some of that in these trying times.
You took the words out of my mouth @ Dr. Barbara
Best of the Best. The Moody blues. These guys are the greatest musicians ever in my book. The Beatles where ok. I like a lot of Rock band's. I Was a licensed DJ for a while in The 80s . I. Grow up with Rock and Roll. From 1957 ay 8 years old ..63 was the first Moody Blues songs I Heard and the Moody blues are in a class of theirs in own. Another great long play album.
Agree. They are in a class of their own. One wonders "where they came from". None of them appear to have an orchestral background. The Beatles were in a class of their own with so many good songs and they were so good on stage. But none of their songs appear to be "top drawer" for me. Do you agree that from our age vantage points, it is far easier to pick out the best? Of the thousands I have in my library, I have singled out a few hundred of the best. I wanted to put them all on videos but many have been blocked.
You could do a top 50 list, and there would still be songs missing that deserved to be on the list.. That's how great these guys were back then.
Fact.
I went to sleep many nights with their music in my head phones.
@Patricia Elg - I did also, and I still have my Pioneer headphones that I bought in 1971.....and they still work fine! 🚬😊 🎧 💤
Early in this century the Moody Blues gave a concert at of all places, the KY State Fair, so I took my older sister to hear them. She was entranced and asked me if I'd been listening to them very long. I told her it had been for donkey's years. I got her a copy of "Threshold of a Dream" so she could treat herself to their music at home. 🙂
Moody’s songs take me back to a blessed time in my youth! 🙏 Thank you for the joy in your 🎵 music 💖
Thanks, so pleased that you enjoyed.
They are like vintage wine. Music gets better as we get older.
Justin was a God send!

Love their songs, my absolutely favorite band ever. Brings back such great memories of years gone by, I’ll be 72 and have enjoyed their music forever.
Me too, September 1. ("God willing) Hope you are in good health!
They were my mentors for the longest time. They had a way of putting into words of the unspeakable. Very few people have had the experience of ego death and all that goes with it and just before it. Horror and ecstacy. I'm 75 now and 50 years later I have never found another soul that I can talk about the experience with
Amazing is this thing they call "life." The Moody Blues have always painted an emotional picture that we can self-identify with.
I had my first acid trip with the MBs as guides. It seemed profound. 77 yo.
I'm not sure of the experience you speak of. But there is no-one I can be "real" with either...a very lonely experience. There has to be someone like us out there.
When I was about 16 and met my first boyfriend, hè had the Album "To my Childrens Children". Since that moment I was smitten. Every weekend when I went to see him at his parents house, I wanted to hear the MB Album. I'm now 63 and about a month ago I followed a documentary, on television, about the Life stories of the MB. Brought tears to my eyes. Thank you MB for playing one of the great roles in my life.

You got that right brother these guys were true progressive fusion pioneers of their time, none other nor ever will be!.
The Actor is the one that gets me. And, it's off one of my favorite albums of all time.
Funny you should say that. I just did a video of that very song a couple of weeks back which I selected as my favorite. I explain in it why "it gets me" too
www.bitchute.com/video/CnQLaVT3Qwy4/. Perhaps I should also post on UA-cam but fans don't seem to like choosing favorites. One of a few things I regret about this video is the "thunder-claps" on the version of "the Actor" that I used. The song is better without them.
The Moody Blues music makes me cry, i just find their music and lyrics so emotional and so connected on every level. My favorite track is Watching and Waiting, its obviously sung by God to Mankind, it takes your breath away.
absolutley
Thanks for sharing, their music can certainly touch us at a deep level. Sad that most people don't seem to want to be affected in this way.
@@60sfanatic it's scary for them. Easier to have a beer or light up a joint.
Makes me cry too; but its a very good cry.....wow
A lot of their music makes me cry too and I'm 61.
The Magnificent Moody Blues.
I absolutely love the sound of the voice of Ray Thomas on harmony. And his tambourine playing is perfect!
The seven albums from 1967 - 1972 are unmatched. Mike Pinder's Mellotron made everything better, and Justin Hayward was the key.
justin had The Voice alright! Amazing looking guy, along with John Lodge.
Those 7 albums ruled my teenage.
Totally agree.....magical and transcendental in every way.......pure GENIUS!!!!!!!!
Pinder joined McCartney's Wings.
there wasn't 1 song on the 1st 7 albums that wasn't worth listening to...not so true of some of the albums after mike left the group...i grew up during this 67-72 period(graduated from high school in 72)...I didn't fully appreciate them back then like i do now..they are a priceless treasure
Has there ever been better music? If so, I haven't heard it.
No group like the MOODY BLUES Soothing, Fun, mysterious, Spiritual, Relaxing, Almost prophetic! I been listening since 1974 their music never gets old or tiresome. I used to have all their albums back in he 70s is while in the military. Simply sensational!
One of the greatest bands ever!
I'm thinking every Moody Blues songs are my favourites. Many thanks for these. 💙 It's a blue World.
I use to live my life through their songs.i miss those days...love moodyblues!
Likewise..
They are timeless,a gift from the heavens..
I started listening to them in 1968. Still my favorite Band after all these years. Glad to see them make the R&RHOF but it was long overdue.RIP Ray Thomas and Graeme Edge.
I'm 77 years old and still listening. Days of Future Passed, indeed !!!
RIP Graeme Edge ... thanks for your contribution to music xox
The Moody's were by far the class act of the 60's 70's 80's rock era. Their music is timeless. All were incredibly talented and knowledgeable of music that went way beyond other groups of the era.
Agree completely
Appreciate the comment.
There is a kind of elegance.
Leaves me in a state of awe. And keeps me wanting more 🤪
Jim beam and the moody blues. Thinking is the best way to travel. God bless them
Isn’t Love Strange …. A fantastic and powerful song (John Lodge’s creation) 🥰
Isn't Life Strange.
No other band in history consecutively record for record can match the quality of the Moodies first seven albums. Mind-blowingly great work.
Yeah the greatest music of our time!
My friends didn't or couldn't soak in all of the dynamic, momentous layers and degrees of Moody's musical excellence and messaging lyritism. They gave me understanding and hope where it was fleeting my mind in late teens n early twenties. I have enormously been blessed by their Gifting. And I continue to pass the journey forward. Thank you

I never ever get tired of listening to your video. I have loved the Moody's forever, probably just like millions of others, including you. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much...you've "made my day".
Candle of Life …a gem for sure‼️John Lodge was/is very talented and enjoy his positivity!! One rock star I admire….. Justin’s voice on this song was beautiful!!
Such beautiful epic songs that take you away to a different world! There will never be another band like this!
Yesterday before i went to sleep I wanted to listen to a song to celebrate the life of a little cat I rescued at age 4. almost made it to age 12. I had to have her put to sleep 6 days ago. Nights in White Satin came to mind. I love you (Millie) oh how I love you. As I type the tears flow freely... Thank you for 38 minutes of wonderful time with so many beautiful Melodies, precious time needed. I am so very grateful for your posting of these songs for me. xxx Some things are meant to be xxx
Thanks so much for sharing and sorry to hear about your cat. It's amazing how soothing beautiful music can be in times of trouble, touching us in our inner most being. My favorite in this regard is "Stay with me baby" by the Walker bothers.

Just last week had to put my beloved Tim, a kitty, to sleep. He was 18. He was ill and having great difficulty getting around. He and I had been inseparable since he joined the family. If only I'd thought about listening to the Moody Blues to help with my pain.
Sorry for your loss.
Just remember the time you were together.
Music really does heal the soul Carol! Sorry for your loss! Always choose The Moody Blues! Great music to heal you!
Still have my vinyl albums. From Days of Future Passed thru Seventh Sojourn, some of the finest music every recorded. I got to see them twice. Always a favorite & just as fresh as ever.
Justin Hayward's consistency of song writing has never been bettered by anyone. He has simply never written a bad song. A well deserved OBE - unlike some others.
I'm 72, have Always Loved Them ❤
Just turned 74 yesterday. Going to see Justin in Truro in March
@@johnholmes6007Lucky you!! Enjoy xxx
@user-bo1vs4ur3t Great night. I only got home to Launceston at midnight. Well worth it though
I have loved this band since the 60's when I first heard them. I was just a young lad and I'm turning 65 this Sunday. They were and have always been one of my favourite bands of all time. Their music is timeless. It's a shame that it took so long for them to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They should have been in there much sooner. No matter, I'm sure they have been in most people's Hall of Fame all along. A magnificent band.
I'm 67 and make sure I listen to these guys every day, makes me happy!! Would like to hear Timothy Leary too!
love you
Barbara Sanders and I am 71 and love this music and all memories.
