This song feels like I'm laying on a grassy hill at windless night looking into black space and cold stars. If I make a wrong move I'll fall into the sky below me and never be able to come back. I'm laying on the edge. Sky is beautiful but this beauty is best served with fear.
Sometimes I wonder if this is my favorite song, I really do like it but there is so much music in this world that it really makes me wonder if I'm supposed to have a favorite or am I just supposed to appreciate living in such a creative era of digital music. I guess I"ll never know
When the sawing at the strings starts at 0:47 it's like an ugly, dark secret coming to light, drowning out everything that was before and will be after.
I think Lorn is one of the most original and innovative artists I've ever listened to. But I can't listen to him too much, he tends to put me in a very dark place, and I have enough darkness in my life.
Lorn is friggin awesome. In this day and age, I feel like too many people are walking through life pretending that everything is perfect and clean, like they're addicted to sanity. Like any junky, they become belligerent and defensive if you try to show them the reality that life is more than just puppy dogs and organic produce sections. And the music reflects that, not just trashy mass produced pop, but a lot of bands are getting swept up by this craze. But filthy, animalistic negativity is a part of life, and you can't ignore it. Lorn doesn't feel like an edgy teenager trying to be shocking, it feels like it's embracing that part of life, and acknowledging the beauty in it, or at the very least, shaping it into something fascinating.
I'd like to challenge that thought for a second. The one about how people pretend everything is perfect. I feel like it's the opposite. In fact the current teen culture is usually very verbal and expressive about how shitty their world is or can get and how in most cases that can't physically do anything about it. The fact that a person would prefer to be insane and go to a totally unrealistic world that could potentially harm them mentally in the future over the real world shows that theirs something in the real world that's more painful than going insane. Edgy teens are edgy yes, even though edge has become a norm now days, but it's because they've already been placed on the edge. The truth is "most" people aren't naturally edgy or dark and depressed. They're usually the way they are because they didn't experience the positivity they needed when it was needed the most or didnt experience it over an over extended period of time. Of course people grow out of that state of mind, edge that is; however, growing out of that state dosn't mean they've accepted the world infact more often than not it's the situation you've described they seem to pretend like everything's perfect because the world expects them to stop pointing out and trying to change the imperfections publicly. This forces them to fight internal battles while they carry out their natural lifes. This is called "sucking it up and dealing with it" in respect to the phrase that's often gets said on social media and in talks with other people. Nobody truelly pretends everything is perfect. They know. Everyone knows, that nothing can be perfect. However apparently experiencing a false enjoyable reality and hurting is a better alternative to just hurting in itself.
Now on another note. It's agreeable to say that all of the negativity and positivity in life is apart of life. Infact everything. Is. Apart. Of. Life. Some people just have different masses of life with a different type of balance. I don't believe theres such thing as bad music. Or music that portrays an irrelevant message, despite how inorganic pop is to me it appeals to some people they have different ears than myself. And I can sometimes find myself liking it. Lots of music points at insanity and craziness because it's crazy people who have more creativity truelly. And you have such a bigger pallet to work with when your theme is something that is prevaliant and come from different angles like depression or again insanity. As for Lorn. I'm astonished how they can make such dark themes and still have it appear so mystical representative. I forgot the name of the song but theres this one video with a little boy just walking in the darkness and the song was so scary but uplifting at the same time. The funniest thing though that song linked me to some gorefield video animation which was creepy. UpdAte: the song is called Diamond.
I like the choice to use the face of an average looking middle aged man rather then going the standard route of old decrepit person or scary child. To me, the choice of the average man is far creepier. To me, his death strikes me as a quick, violent, senseless one, what with the sudden appearance of the head wound. Something about how he got left to decay implies to me that he didn’t have anyone in his life who cared enough to go searching when he went missing. A death with mystery, but no one around who cares to solve it. An isolated incident of an average man dying gruesomely. Not a serial killer, not a demon or a malicious beast, just a man killing another man for some forgotten reason. So the victim remains, his soul trapped in limbo, the fog of confusion forever in his mind. A ghost with no one to haunt.
This reminds me of an old website that had loads of animations like this, some interactive, all dark and cool just like this. Can't for the life of me remember what it was called! Making my brain itchy trying to remember!

This video is amazing. I saw my reflection when you could just see the nose with the smoke and it looked like it was coming out of my nose. I dont think that was the idea but It inspired me to make a music video like that.
This video is full of subliminal messages and details. For example, pay attention to all eyes and eyeballs that you see, regarding if there are pupils or not. Playing it with 0.25X speed is also very interesting starting at 0:54. It's easy to interpretate the music and the artwork piece of a video the way I want, however, I doubt that Lorn and CRCR had the same things in mind as me. All of this makes me speechless. Brilliant.
I love how lorn's music and videos have such an impact on people,I wouldn't say it's a positive one, while seeing many feeling uneasy or some can't even explain the feeling lorn's work gives. It's a nostalgic feeling, like sth you've heard before but can't recognise,I'd describe it as one hell of a ride making you feel various emotions and in the end you are still startled, however you loved it! Lorn surprises me with the variation of the sounds and the meanings after all his works, makes me even think he's not even related to this planet...spite that I simply love Lorn and all the music videos out there and I wish he'd create more
His music puts me at ease in a way I can't describe. Its been my grace at work that past year alone. It takes me out of myself, if even for a little bit.
one thing I do like about lorns songs is that they don't seem to short or to long but just enough leaving u for wanting more almost as if it's some sort of a tune tease
This is how it sounds when the Grimm reaper plays his multidimensional chello! It feels like being alone in my insane brain, a dark room were never light will shine.

Brilliant.
this needs to be longer, it's such a tease!
wish the voice part was longer or happened twice
+NukaColaQuantumX Check out Cherry Moon also, first thing of his I jammed too.
this is the shortened version, the original does it twice
One of the darkest gems of Lorn 🥰😵
I can see this song being in the next big video game trailer
Uriah Siner next Castlevania, please
How about new watch dogs?
Not that it would be better but I can totally see it in a battlefield trailer.
obiously its for the last night dudes they have acid rain in one of the trailers
Next indie game that becomes a media sensation ,✔
the dark energy this gives off is so powerful. Awesome work.
Lorn surprises me with the variation of the sounds and the meanings after all his works, makes me even think he's not even related to this planet...spite that I simply love Lorn and all the music videos out there and I wish he'd create more
Art disturbs the comfortable and comforts the disturbed
This song needs to be looped for 20 minutes straight. keep hitting play again, and again.
Even horror movies are afraid of that sound.
Possibly the best music video I've ever seen.
Qué adelantado a su tiempo era LORN. Una obra maestra tras otra.
Amazing art! We all just took a walk through your creativity/mind

No words can describe how much I like this song. Besides the one you're reading.
This has been on youtube since 2012 where the fuck has this masterpiece been 6 years!!! °0°
His music puts me at ease in a way I can't describe. Its been my grace at work that past year alone. It takes me out of myself, if even for a little bit.
Big Brother is watching
+Cmwood13 Productions Best comment . Takes me back to 1920.
I believe you're 64 years behind where you need to be.

non sense, this is about the transition betwenn life and death not democratie u-utopia or stupidity , i feel great pity
one thing I do like about lorns songs is that they don't seem to short or to long but just enough leaving u for wanting more almost as if it's some sort of a tune tease
That bass is absolutely terrifying i love it
this is so good i can't even explain how good
This is how it sounds when the Grimm reaper plays his multidimensional chello! It feels like being alone in my insane brain, a dark room were never light will shine.
How is it this video has become comforting to watch?
this is brilliant.
I discovered Lorn through his videos and I was hooked!! So much art in his work. So happy Lorn exisits
It sounds like the music itself is taking a breath at 1:12

man i straight up love the animation for this video, Lorn... this and weigh me down are just so brilliantly tied to that gorgeous, cryptic voodoo that you do. diggin' it so hard.
So, what have I learned from this: do not be curious about Lorn's music videos around 2:18 am 😵 I'm too creeped out by that moustache face. Very awesome music though, it was powerful af ❤ Lorn is a scary genius.
What?
@@hydrat8662 they saw this video at 2am and it creeped them out, and now they know not to look up Lorn’s music videos late at night. It’s not that hard to understand.
@@actuallyatlas I know what he said dumb ass, I meant how the fuck is a face scary? Jesus
@@hydrat8662 Shit becomes really wack late at night, and I guess your brain perceives things differently, I’m thinking the same as watching this while high would freak you the hell out. Also, there’s no need to be a dick about it dude
Officially my favourite video on UA-cam!
Such a great piece of music
I have proudly contributed 480 plays on this track today...this is stunning!
This has the potential to be the type of music that emulates the darkness and bleakness of black metal but in a completely different, electronic way. A bit like Forest Swords sometimes.
Thank you for the music ❤ and the great show!
You are fantastic!
Lornagraphy, this is what this is
Probably one of the best clips I've seen in awhile.
Look at "custom eyes " by lorn
Last night i fell asleep listening to it an had fucked up dream about mermaids that were zombies and i caught one on a fishing pole.
Bruh
Animator did a fantastic job seriously
i can see myself being possessed to this song..
No matter how shitty the times were when I used to listen to this, it's still a great track to come back and listen to.
the heavy strings is just, damn.
I love this kind of animation
Lorn is absolutely amazing
I frickin love this low vibrating tone!!
This sounds how smoking a cigarette at 4 AM in January feels
Amazing animation, great lyrics and that octobasse!! Ugh I'm in love!!!
I will name this kind of music as "industrial depression"... powerful
these have been some nightmare inducing music videos. good luck all
Psychedelics are one of Gods greatest gifts!
The animation is to die for....i luv!!!
This tripped me out hard. I'm actually terrified right now. Don't watch when high
Lorn, you are the best man that I found for this last years ago. Thank you to fill my blank playlist, haha!
