I still remember that feeling when I watched Vikings for the first time 9 years ago. The adventure and the mysterious journey when Ragnar finally reached the west and found that land. I wish I could bring this feeling back.
Its funny that I was listening to this song before Vikings was streamed, it hardly made any of my friends accepting how good this song is. As soon as Vikings appeared, all of them were like: "brooo take this song you'll like it!!" xDDDDDD bruuuuuuh I kept sharing this to you for such a long time only now you found it?
I feel that this song really fits the life of Ragnar Lodbrok: "If I had a heart I could love you If I had a voice I would sing After the night when I wake up I'll see what tomorrow brings" He loved lagertha but his desire for more children made him go to another woman and he lost lagertha. But he continued to love her till the end

I have to admit, I liked it better when I thought this was just unintelligible gibberish with a random “after the night when I wake up” in the middle of it
It gladdens me to know that Odin prepares for a feast. Soon I shall be drinking ale from curved horns. This hero that comes into Valhalla does not lament his death! I shall not enter Odin's hall with fear. There I shall wait for my sons to join me. And when they do, I will bask in their tales of triumph. The Aesir will welcome me! My death comes without apology! And I welcome the valkyries to summon me home!
Did Ragnar make it to Valhalla? I saw a clip of the gates closing and him screaming, tried to watch the show on Typhoon TV but buffers every 10 seconds
@@lewisrose3285 they don't get into that. They keep the spiritual stuff a mystery throughout. Is it all in their heads or are the gods and Valhalla real? The fine line between these two possibilities is kept carefully. To the show, all that matters with the paganism is the general zeitgeist, culture, and style of tale (epic). You're meant to feel like you're there are as a Viking and that the spirituality is as ambiguous to you as it is for the rest of your kin.
Just reading some of the comments it seems this song was played loads of amazing shows, Breaking bad, The following, The Sopranos and of course Vikings :)
Why does no one talk about how awesome Fever Ray and her songs are...all I see are comments about the shows this song is on...which is fine...but give some credit to the woman who gave her talent to these shows.
+Becca Permenter Yeah, I would like to contribute to your comment or at least be helpful to your question. I don't know of other Fever Ray songs, so like many here, Breaking Bad brought me here. Sorry, but I hope you can appreciate my input in that, this song is catchy , which lead me to watching the video, which lead me to theorizing that Fever Ray the artist/band/? is actively in Recovery? At the 01:09 backs up my theory somewhat with the recovery symbols on the bldg. and the dead bodies in the pool, signifying the people that didn't make it or had to walk over along the way. Also, the theme of the TV series? For Jesse? Input? Agree? Disagree? Don't care?
+Jay Blankenship I think you're explanation makes a lot of sense. the lyrics back that up to. "this will never end cause I want more." recovery never truly ends for an addict. their always at risk of relapse.
Extraordinary song from a great artist! Eerie, atmospheric and evocative. I love the whole album. Karin Drejer has great imagination and always comes up with such intriguing sounds!

Going back to the light is a path, and brutality is another. But getting out of depression is indeed something you have to do, whatever it takes. And once you'll be out, look for the light again, because rage is also toxic. Good luck mate
Yeah, I have never seen Vikings before, but I somehow just know it. And when I heard that song, I was like "Wait didn't this song play in Game Of Thrones? Oh no, it was Vikings 🤦." I haven't seen Game Of Thrones either 😅. I should really watch those two series.
I'm listening to this in honor and memory of my friend and brother. He fell in battle against ms. He now sits at the table with the Allfather. I will see you again some day.
It all ties together... Vitamin D deficiency is a risk factor for MS and some parts of Norway have the highest rates of MS in the world, a Viking Disease, it seems. Look up MS and Latitude in Google and click on Images. Everyone further out than +- 30 degrees latitude should get their vitamin D checked. Mine was low, too, at +44 degrees. Norway is 60+ degrees.
vicky Lapidus I’ve known this song for a long time, but mainly listened to it through other avenues. I discovered Fever Ray through a music channel on tv so yt was never my main source for her music. That was my first time watching it on UA-cam. Also, *HER*. Don’t try me.
I've been looking for this for years, don't know where I originally heard it, however it has been in the back of my head for years, this song has somehow been with me forever, I now I can be one
I listened to this as my veins glowed and the blood in my body boiled, my eyes turned to jelly and my brain flowed from my ears, I screamed in pleasure.
'' This song, and especially music video, is about the childishness of people who are dependant on the concept of 'leadership'. It's about ignoring how the day-to-day of buisiness as usual negatively impacts people, and feeling unable to say anything about it, but hoping that by the morning a solution will have presented itself. It's about filling the void of freedom and equality with consumerism. The idea is that the average person is satiated by having and getting "stuff", and therefore nothing radical will change. ''
Kaktus Kurton, what utter rubbish. The only unarguable references in the video are to the ancient Greek underworld and the Elysium fields in the short clip at the end. The portions showing death interposed with wealth could be interpreted any number of ways. Assume any more than that and you're just another person ripping off someone else's creative content to advance your personal political agenda.
Raingirl365 I was looking for song meaning and found this to be the comment with most + so i was thinking why not share this with others on this video. I like the song and i think it can be interpreted in many ways. My comment was just one of them. Don't take this wrong and chill out coz i don't give a fuck much about what you have to say or anyone else.
Good for you Kaktus. Last time I checked, there are no laws about how you must interpret a song. Raingirl's post was barely coherent. Keep up the comments and keep ignoring the idiots.
This song takes me to the realms between realms. I am here, and there. I am everywhere and nowhere. My spirit yearns for somewhere ancient. I feel like I've never belonged in this time. Music like this makes me feel like I am home.
It takes you past midgard, past asgard, past nifleheim, past all. To ragnarok and then you pass that. You trancend time, the earth you transcend all. You see further than hiemdall, further than Nanna. What do you see? None know, none can comprehend. You see through ymirs skull but you do not. Your vision transcends all time.

Cold but impactful describes Jesse's condition so well.

For Jesse? Input? Agree? Disagree? Don't care?
Recovery isn't a cult ..it's about breaking the pattern of addiction, with a by-product of actually/possibly extending your life.
+Jay Blankenship I think you're explanation makes a lot of sense. the lyrics back that up to. "this will never end cause I want more." recovery never truly ends for an addict. their always at risk of relapse.

That sounds similar to how Jesse Pinkman is going through in Season 4.
Kaktus Kurton, what utter rubbish. The only unarguable references in the video are to the ancient Greek underworld and the Elysium fields in the short clip at the end. The portions showing death interposed with wealth could be interpreted any number of ways. Assume any more than that and you're just another person ripping off someone else's creative content to advance your personal political agenda.

sounds like it takes you to the dark ages of VIKINGS
It takes you past midgard, past asgard, past nifleheim, past all. To ragnarok and then you pass that. You trancend time, the earth you transcend all. You see further than hiemdall, further than Nanna. What do you see? None know, none can comprehend. You see through ymirs skull but you do not. Your vision transcends all time.
