Rags 2 Wrenches your better off with composite toes. Think about it if you drop something insanely heavy on ur foot is it better to have ur toes cut off or just severely broken?
I thought Myth Busters confirmed the opposite? From everything I've seen regarding steel and composite toe boots, the impact required to make the steel cut your toes off would have crushed your toes to nothingness anyway and you're much better off wearing either one. There's plenty of UA-cam vids on here where they drop a weight down on the toe, one guy uses a carrot and its quite informative. In every situation the safety toe, be it steel or composite, was a lot better than having a regular toed boot.
I just watched a man cut gloves for 20 minutes... And loved it (Ps. You intimidated the shit out of all of poor the little gloves that watched this vid)
I'm going through an awful time in my life right now. I feel like my life is literally crumbling right before my eyes and I have no control over it. Thank you for being such a great distraction for me. Watching your videos is keeping me calm and distracted and I just want you to know that you're having a positive impact on my life. Thank you for uploading videos and thank you for having such positive, uplifting, lighthearted content.
Here I am 4 years later in a similar situation, binge watching his videos to get through. Thank you Tyler, your videos make me smile even at the worst of times.
Years ago at work, they mandated wearing a cut glove on the hand not holding the blade when using a razor knife. The manager says "It'd be pretty hard to cut the same hand your holding the knife with". Next day someone did just that. Good thing because there would've been a lot of right hand gloves left over.
Damn this is almost a year old i remember watching this when it got uploaded it only seems like yesterday that it was uploaded it's crazy how time flies so fast
At 10:11 did you guys see a smiley face lol and at 10:58 did you guys see a potato wearing a ski mask Thank you so much Tyler you’re my favorite youtuber
Great video. I use a spectra cut glove on my off hand when I'm cutting really tough materials with a utility knife and when I'm using an olfa knife (small or large) when cutting surface contours (for war gaming terrain and dioramas) and honestly just trust it because it's a $30 glove an can't waste the money to test it. I did however slip once with the utility knife and the blade glanced off my thumb. It did just barely frayed a couple threads and it hit my thumb pretty hard. I truly believe had I not been wearing the glove, I probably would have lost my thumb. Any PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will fail if you intend it to/work at it. The chainmail is supposed to be the best and is what butchers are required to use in meat processing facilities, but still, even those are only intended to protect you from "glancing" cuts. Thanks for putting them to the test and sharing it. I just came across your channel and have been binging with them. 😜🤣 Keep up the good work.
From my understanding, it depends which way the blade is going against or with the "fabric" determines how much it'll fray or go thru it. Also considering that if you come close to or hit your finger, your not going to continue to rake it.
Whenever a Tyler Tube video comes out, my boyfriend and I watch it together and this is the first video I am watching without him because winter break :( we love you Tyler Tube
It's nice to know that I'm not the only one recording my videos at the wee hours. LOL. Love the bloopers. I always have found that bloopers prove that anyone can press record, but it's not going to be easy. Get some sleep!!!
Welcome to the TylerTube UA-cam channel, today we learn how to cut off a finger 😂😂😂 just playing brotha, love the video. Keep up the good work! #RoadToOneMill
I'll vouch for the DexFit gloves because they feel so comfortable while using and have a high cut resistance towards Chef's Knives, Whittling Knives, gouges, spoons,. hook knives.
THANK YOU for providing this VERY valuable comparison review. You may save thousand of fingers and prevent millions of swear words... not to mention save thousand or millions in ER visits.
19:03 well the only reason that the "true cry" glove won is because the mesh glove comes with two parts it comes with the white glove and then the mesh cover and you only tested the mesh so the mesh one would have won if you would have put the white glove with the mesh
ANSI level 5 cut is the old 2011 test standard. In 2016, ANSI (American National standard institute) came out with new levels that go from A1 (200 grams of force pushed on a straight edge blade for cut resistance) to A9 (6000+ grams of cut resistance) to better tell these apart. Those are all HPPE Shell gloves except the last one which is steel. HPPE is like fishing line used to make gloves - strong cut resistance material - just don't put it near heat...it's plastic and will melt. These are tested in a lab with a TDM-100 machine. It automatically moves a calibrated for sharpness razor blade across the palm of the glove to determine how many grams need to be put on the blade for the blade to cut through the material. - Source: I work in one of these labs that test gloves and safety gear
As my good friend Thorn from the Brotherband Chronicles said, “3 centimeters of point is sometimes better than 30 centimeters of edge.” He talking about in a sword fright the use might thrust, which will lower the gloves usefulness because the fighter will probably aim for the heart.
Hey your videos are amazing very interesting and your beard is awesome!! Lol Edit: forgot to say the arm thing kinda got me lol! Edit:thanks for heart my comment!
i look forward to these videos always interesting but a laugh as well. loved the bloopers more creators need to add them it shows the reality of filming and the real person not the youtube persona
The thing with the cloth type cut proof gloves is it depends on how sharp your knife really is, and I like the pocket knife you have! My Tenacious is a really awesome carry knife
I have a pair of the first gloves. I use one on the hand holding whatever I am slicing on a mandolin. You usually would not use them when using a serated knife.

You should test different steel toe boots/shoes vs the composite toe
I was told in motor vehicle you can chop your toes off with steel toe caps and its best to have a broken foot. Myth busters sort of confirmed this
Rags 2 Wrenches your better off with composite toes. Think about it if you drop something insanely heavy on ur foot is it better to have ur toes cut off or just severely broken?
Also if you work with livestock and a cow steps on those boots, your toes are gone
Now cover it in flex seal
Ah yes, the 21-century natural DEF. Buff to all equipment
Flex Seal.
Do it Tyler.
@@mizublackriver7021 I can see you’re a man of quality.
Did anyone else notice that gloves one and two are the same thing just different color and Tyler got ripped of from the price difference
And the placebo effect
The 3rd looks like the same but dipped in rubber lol
Tyler really deserves more recognition for his humour and just awesomeness, like lets be honest.
bubbas cool agreed
I second that
Bud I'm feeling like you should have one of these gloves on your left hand while performing this test.
Found u dude see u liked ur own comment press f to pay respects
But how would he know which one was best for that?
Seriously he gives me so much anxiety
I said the same thing lol. I worked for plygem making windows and we had to use kevlar gloves. Still have a pair some where. 🤔
@@brittanycrenshaw6816 anything is better than nothing. Especially since they are actually designed and rated for what he is operating. So...
That intro worried the hell out of me.
“Honey can you peel some potatoes?”
Tyler: *whips out katana* of course dear
I think you mean "m'lady"
Honestly he should be used a potato instead of a hard plastic arm.
He used a potato...
Holy smacks! You took your whole arm off! Very impressed.
very impressive but can you make a flex seal arm
Why did you remove the garage door and replace it with a window???
I was wondering if anyone noticed that
Can we please get an OK counter for this video
Okay
I was thinking the same thing but take a shot after each Ok
Man, just looking at this "cutting edge" technology makes me happy. I gotta "hand" it to you, this was a pretty good video.
This was pretty potato dude*
If you had both the white and the chainmail ones would propably have lasted longer , besides those were the instructions to use them
How did no one else catch that before now that should have been the number one comment if he had used that one right it would have won hands down
That's the only reason why I looked in the comments I'm surprised no one called him out on it
I was just about to say the same until I saw this comment.
That's what I was thinking!! Lol
That’s what I thought. Still a great vid though

Put a piece of chicken breast inside the gloves next time

That OK is quite satisfying. lol
How much weight can a stick covered in the flex seal spray hold?
finally was looking for good starting armor gloves with a decent defense and a anti penetration spell (lvl 7 paladin here ;) )

Potato and knife were paid actors.
My favorite part of this video was the bloopers. This is so relatable!!!
I’m thinking the reason they won because of the cheapest glove being so flimsy it kept moving with the knife. Making the cuts less effective
The glove will move with whatever it comes into contact with regardless. It helps.
Oh okay I see what you mean.. you’re right.
I loved the bloopers
Don't shave your beard ever
Agreed.
Good thing I had these gloves because everyone cuts with a Katana
The bloopers had me laughing so hard!😂😂

The outtakes at the end are pure gold.

Idk y but this is one of those videos that I can sit there and watch over and over all day
Why would i wear these gloves in sword battle....wouldn't be i wearing armour..?
You could wear them under your armour for extra protection
loved the ending XD
At the beginning of the video you were wearing THE Missouri State designated uniform! ;)
The beginning really got me XD
Entertaining and educational! I never would have guessed such different gloves would have so similar a result.
God bless you tyler im not sure if your christian but still god bless keep up amazing work
Yeah, I wonder if he is Christian, if so that's absolutely amazing!
The 1st glove is even more impressive because the blades were brand new ( I presume!) , the later gloves got cut with slightly damaged blades
The bloopers were a nice touch!
At 0.25x playback speed your voice sounds like a God speaking to us peasants

The blade you're referring to as a Katana is actually a Zanpakutō.
No it's not. A Zanpakutō isn't a real thing.
No, it isn't. That's a weapon from bleach. What he's wielding looks more like a Wakizashi.
Tyler Tube is a legend his videos are interesting
