3dsMax Cloth needs a lot of Patience. It Crashes all the time. This is the best I have seen with Cloth in 3dsMax.

how did you extrude the line ?

To extrude a spline, you need to have 3ds Max version 2023.1 or higher installed. This is done by holding down the Shift key.
