Hey Jack, I’m Jack. I just wanted to say I love your content and have been listening to your podcast “darknet diaries” for about 2 years now and I’ve loved every episode, thanks for the bedtime story’s man.

It feels like it's been 3 years since the last episode! That's just how much we love your work jack.. we can't get enough.. ps 1 a week would be great!!!!
Im 20 Episodes deep into your podcast and theres this strange thing happening right now: work feels like freetime because of your amazing podcast. Keep it up Jack, its the best podcast I ever found, no cap.
I work at one of the largest art galleries in the US and they have art worth amounts you wouldn’t believe. They really could never be taken or even sold. Most have hundreds of years of providence. Proving were it’s been, who has bought it, and who they bought it from going back for generations
The real question is : If the government can sanction TornadoCash, why haven't they sanctioned the entire banking system yet? Well, other than the fact that they can sink their greedy hands into it and make money from it. Because if you really think about it, TornadoCash didn't do anything that the banking system didn't already do themselves. The banking system, taking peoples money, puts it into a giant pool of other peoples money and redistributes it. Even if you say that you need to show your ID for a bank, that's not always true. You can go into a store, buy a prepaid card for cash, which is issued by a bank, without showing your ID or anything. Then you can do home and even set up an account(which is completely optional) and to log in to see your account balance, you only need to show info that is directly on the card. So technically, you have a bank account without any ID, or at the very least, a card that you can use anywhere without the need of providing your personal info. Sp really, there is technically no difference between the banking system and TornadoCash.
Also the fact that crypto has to be traded using a website, like Coinbase or Binance, which can be shut down (and Binance was shut down in the US) Sooo idk wtf he's talking about....
A very fascinating episode! At this moment in time this and the case against Assange have the chance of forever changing the society we live in.... mainly for the worse..
Hey man, I see the uploads have been getting fewer and further between, I hope that this podcast finds more success because it's gotten me through some tough times and I really love the stories you tell. I find that when I catch myself saying "I don't know this, I don't know this", that's when I need to ask an expert. I think it would be great to ask someone who kows their way around financial law onto the show, rather than speculate what is right or wrong and what "they" can or can't do and what is or isn't real currency and property. We aren't the first ones to wonder about this, there already are people who've racked their brains and worked it out for us! I'd love to hear about this :) :)

Having Jack straight up say that China is oppressive while reporting on an instance of the US being oppressive to the point of indicting people in other countries, but being unable to see it as oppression is insane. The podcast is great you just need re-caliber your moral compass
Did he say that the USA was not oppressive to its own citizens? This cybermoney regulation business sniffs of the English 'enclosure acts' where certain people were given the right to exclude all the farmers from their given piece of land. Their family had worked that land for generations. Now they could be hired at the whim of the landowner and permitted to work. Work for the landowner, that is.
I don't think he's ever close to saying USA is not oppressive, quite the opposite. Many episodes clearly state that the gov is doing shady stuff, breaching your privacy, making atupid regulations without understanding the cases, and so on and so forth. @@joseduarte9823

19:23 Steam may have banned crypto-based games for the same reason why they don’t issue refunds or ways to withdraw money from your Steam account, money laundering. I’m guessing that once upon a time Steam used to allow it to happen so that you can refund your funds whenever you wanted. What’s the downside? You might be able to artificially inflate the Steam Market and make a huge profit off of Steam and then take the money back. Another thing you can do is dodge the law by saying, “I don’t have the money on me officer.” You can purchase Steam gift cards and put the money onto your account or send them to someone else as a means of conducting illegal activity. The options are there to conduct illegal activity if they allowed people to make withdrawals, but they fortunately caught wind of this and prevented this from blowing up. I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a story that explains the reason why Steam found out about their website being used or possibly being used for money laundering.
For me crystals, stones, and any precious stones are just normal stones to me. Canvas paintings are just bitmaps for me, they have no value to me. And, as you mentioned a painting worth a mansion values 0 for me.
What if a crypto wallet is made that has a recovery private key, where if applied within 30 minutes you can cancel and refund the last transaction, for instance someone steals your wallet private key, and this way you can null any transactions since wallet was stolen, however if someone keeps misusing his recovery private key to be black listed in most crypto exchanges,
The arguments for freedom of speech won't be taken seriously if you cling to hysterics. All this stuff of "this breaks my brain" is so hyperbolic, it makes you sound childish. You grab a belt or whatever you have around and use it as a tourniquet. Cybercrime is MASSIVE and tools that make laundering easy should absolutely be disabled without questions asked.
