In the 1880’s, my grt grandparents had a pineapple and citrus farm on Elliott’s Key for 18 years. Later, they moved to Lemon City and set up Filer’s General Store.

My Grt grandparents were shipwrecked on the Florida Keys reef in 1843. They were taken by lighter boats to Key West and later set up a shoe factory.

Great vid. Would be better if the audio level was standardized between narration, interviews, etc. Having to turn my volume up, down, up, down.

Went to Keys in the early 70's and later in the 90's, by then much had changed. Now it has to be much worse.

Always tickles me to see New Englanders pretending they were here first.

Unfortunately, we will have more fast boats and more damaged turtles. Luckily, most people care about our environment and the beautiful creatures sharing our planet and call to arms.

Gosh, this is beyond beauty. I swear it is. But I am sorry,
all the evil deeds it took to create this country speaks volume of who we really are as a species. We don't deserve the glory that been spared for us.
