the smallest value which we can find from the instrument is called Least Count, Least count of vernier scale is 0.1 mm, Least count in vernier Scale is equal to smallest division on main scale divided by number of division on vernier Scale. So smallest division on main scale is 1 mm and number of division on vernier scale is 10. So Least Count is 1mm divided by 10 = 0.1 mm
