My challenge with learning English was trying to convince all of my teachers in secondary school that I didn't need to know all this "predicate" and "past perfect, present perfect" jazz. So, it was basically, "Look, I know my last name is German, but seriously, I'm very laidback, I don't need a lot of the details and minutiae. Anything we can do to keep the grammar simple is all right by me, let's just hit the high points."
hardest part: Pronunciation. I'm french, english is so different in term of Pronunciation, i'm better at writing than speaking, i can speak english but i have a french accent
I think she is not shy, she just an introvert person. You can see when she speaks, she can speak with confidence, clearly and regularly. As an Introvert, we only talk when we need to.
As a native English speaker I always make allowances for non native speakers when they make mistakes, I'm far more forgiving than when native English speakers make mistakes speaking English, they have no excuse for not being able to speak correctly.

Yes english is my second language, but i learned it since i was a baby since in my country you forced to learn it or french or both with the main language which is arabic. The hardest part is the differences in the pronounciation to the way words are written which was hard for me to understand and its annoying but overtime and practice helps a lot

What languages? Brazilians have no issues learning Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean... it's just English that has a few different sounds with which Brazilians tend to struggle, mostly the voiceless dental fricative and the retroflex R, and maybe the German ch depending on the accent, but everyone struggles with that.

There's no way to learn how to pronounce British place names without memorizing them. There are a few rules though and if you understand how Worcestershire becomes "Wosteshir" you'll grasp them and only make mistakes half the time.

i hate english too, i studied at school but i'm not interested to english, i can understand, write and speak little but i'm not interested in english, american movies or english songs. I prefer korean, i find korean more beautiful than english but korean is also difficult, more difficult than french in term of korean grammar, they have more complex grammar with grammar meaning same thing in english and french but more nuances in korean. "Defenestration" is the best English word. I've heard that some other European languages have a similar word.
It comes from French. It's the action of throwing something/someone out the window or "fenêtre" (or fenestre in the past) in French.
