- Oklahoma has more than 1/4 million farm ponds of which most contain populations of fish. This program, produced in 2004, is targeted to farm pond owners who want to conduct practices that will improve their fishing. The program covers several aspects of managing a farm pond for various fishing objectives (e.g. catching a variety of fish, catching big bass, or catching big sunfish). The show features two farm pond experts, Glen Gephardt (formerly with Langston University), and John Stahl (former Regional Fisheries Supervisor with the ODWC). These two fisheries professionals share their wealth of knowledge for making your pond the best it can be. Throughout several points in the show the ODWC's booklet "Managing Pond Fisheries in Oklahoma" is referenced and should be the first step for any farm pond owner who is serious about improving the fish population and fishing success of their pond. The books ($3) are available for order through The Outdoor Store located on wildlifedepartment.com.
