Let me know what New Civ you guys want me to make a Build Order for Next! Ill do all 4 before the game's release so you guys can get a really solid start on the ladder!
Tested the build, liked it a lot! I transitioned into siege rams and Konniks/Chevs, pressured enemies all game through, had enough eco for a lot of trebs as well in the end. No enemy had time to disturb my eco. Thanks for the build.
Nice tutorial, you could even argue to go for the barrack with the second to last vill instead of last vill in order to have the barrack up when you click up and be even more aggressive. I guess 19 pop is even possible with a few dears instead of sheeps.
What about a 15Pop scrush with Lithuanians? The +150food could make a 15Popup possible and the early dmg inflicted might be enough to compensate for the weak eco?
Just tested it against hardest DE AI and easily beat it. I tried this build like Mongol build without 4 forragers/hunters. 6 on sheep, 3 on wood and rest on boar/sheep and build barracks before creating last vill and loom.
hey hera. great video, thanks so much. apperently you only need to hit a boar once now and it will stay agressiv. can you confirm that? would be nice to run back to the tc quicker...
Hey i tried and it seems like sometimes when u hit it once, it chases for half a second then stops. Basically u have to hit it once then linger a bit to make sure its chasing u then run back. So overall it doesnt make much of a difference, but maybe it can help you lure those really far boars without loom now
@@baumiphil either that or hit it once and make sure its chassing u. I hit it once and ran back right away with my vil and the boar didnt even chase me at all
@@baumiphil Nili tried to one-shot lure boar and it barely worked. So two-shot lure is definitely better. Or pause a bit after first shot and then run back.
3:33 @Hera - Age of Empires 2, you get more food by having a lot of villagers finishing that sheep and shift-click to take the boar next. The food decays with a fixed rate per animal (as if one gaia-villager is gathering from it) so by finishing the sheep first you minimize the time that you have 2 animals rotting simultaneously.
@@duartemarco That's incorrect. You might collect from the boar slightly faster, but a boar has 340 food and a sheep only 100, so the sheep can be finished quicker than the boar, so taking the sheep first is better (unless you want to click up to feudal as early as possible).
@@Pecuniarly that is incorrect, always prioritize the boar over the sheep, it's not just about the food decay, it's about getting the most food in the shortest period of time. Also, while you eat the sheep, the boar decays as well so your logic makes no sense, you lose that food no matter what, either from the remaining sheep or from the new boar. And once again, I'd rather lose 50 food that I gather in 10 seconds over the 50 food that I gather in 5 seconds. Hera is top 3 player in the world, you think he got there but not knowing these details ?
@@sorinadrianpop5242 The sheep can be finished much quicker, reducing the time that two animals are rotting at the same time, that makes perfect sense. Of course, if you want to go feudal as early as possible then take the boar first. And yes, I think that the pro players do not always do what is optimal, since they don't do all the math, and finishing one animal before the other makes only a very small difference.
Moving 6-7 vils from one food source to another results in loss as well, the time they are not eating plus the decay. Correct way to do it is to leave 1 villager to finish the sheep. Or try and micro the boar until the sheep is completely devoured by those dark age savages. But if I have to choose, I stand by my opinion, the boar has priority as it is being eaten much faster. There's also a villager going to lure him, that loss of time and energy alone makes the boar far more valuable.
Konniks are sick, because if you get countered by pikemen, your konniks just transform into infantry units after their horses get killed, and then maul those pikemen to death.
+Hera - Age of Empires 2 is it necessary to research loom before clicking up im not a great player by no means but if you make the barracks a little earlier start feudal without loom i am aware this is risky but you can not farm any gold go straight into more wood and food only to go scouts or make a mining camp and go double archers i think the fact that you are up in his face that fast with men at arms and the resources he will have to spend to defend it will put you ahead.(your thoughts) Also if you go double range after should you upgrade them at all ballistics, thumb ring and heavy cav archer is there but the Konnik does not benefit from any of these nor does any late game light cav which you will also receive bonuses for. These are just some thoughts i really enjoy this civ but i am having a hard time with the nuances because although i played 20 years ago i am by all accounts still a noob i would really enjoy a deeper look at this civ from your prospective.
Due to this vid I became a Bulgarian main :D They really need the elite fighter upgrade... Konniks are meh but a nice addition to take out SO and stuff. The auto-upgraded m@a are so strong, it's ridicuolous. Some players send vills to fight them because they think it's just militia, but it's swordsman already :D rip
Hey hera can you do a tatar specific civ review along with their unique unit. I know you already made a compiled video on all new civs, but if you can show the speciality of tatar unique unit it would be wonderful.
If you were to try something very similar to this as the Lithuanians (saving a little time in Dark Age with the bonus 150 food, but losing a little time in Feudal due to having to upgrade your militia), what kind of time do you think you could hit to be in the same position (men-at-arms approaching the opponent's base)?
Maybe not a build for the "professional" Meta, but really important for us casually Competetive Black forest plebs: the Fastest way to boom on a closed Map with the cumins. Hitting Imp with 100 vils at 25 min? Yes please
What map is this? Is the standard now 4 sheep + 4 cows instead of 8 sheep? If that is the case, I think that will make for more aggressive/entertaining games in the early game since you get an extra 200 food to collect in the early game without having to build farms.
Nice. But wouldn't a 21 pop maa be better? Just clicking one more vill before u go up and still do the rest like u did. then the militia would transform into maa right when they hit the enemy, so kinda the same speed offensivly, but a bit better eco.
Hera with the civilizations of the Japanese Inca Malian Persian Celts you can also pop 20 and I believe Mongolians too .. but you need to hunt a deer at least ..
You are clearly the best AOE II youtuber out here. Super kind and you explain everything and you are humble unlike the dirty snake, I will roll him in 1v1 don't worry. By the way, we don't have the grid lines + small trees + small walls + outlines for fish anymore ? : (
I haven't really played online, just watched some videos, and played against A.I. but I get a vastly different impression of Viper than you do. He seems pretty down to earth for a guy who has fairly consistently been rated the top AoE ll player when it comes to ELO and mad skills overall.

Lithuanians, wondering whether you go for less vills due to the 150 extra food or jusz use the food for feudal age
Maybe the +150 food that Lithuanians start with? Or see how many Keshiks you need for the Tatars gold making unit to be profitable?
How about a cumans battering ram feudal rush?
Lithuanians or Cumens. I'm really interested in both.
Yeah that extra food on those cows kinda throws it out hey, also they have cows in userpatch on maps like hideout etc ;)
Very well executed! This looks like a solid strategy

Hello Hera, congratz for HC4. What do you think about adding early blacksmith for this build order, since Bulgarians get two bonuses for that?
Hera i really admire your fast thinking in aoe! :)
You're a great teacher!
So slick. I predict nearly ever Bulgarian game will open with this since their late feudal/early castle is kind of tight due to lack of Xbows.
Or you could go heavy with scouts I'm feudal do enough damage to slow them down and make konniks quickli in castle age.
