I finished the story yesterday and I think it was a bit too similar to the previous story modes but it was definitely better and the final boss was awesome
the story mode was hilarious this time around. no spoilers but the final boss had me cackling the entire time he was talking and I have so many screenshots from the story mode alone Also I have to say that the campaign is much harder than splat 2, but my favorite addition they made is that you’re not forced to complete every kettle if you don’t want to. The Story Mode is pretty good but admittedly some of the later Stages made me rage almost, especially some of the ones where you have to shoot cube targets on an ink rail. I HATE those Stages.
Some stages I had to stop and put down the game because of how difficult it was. One that stands out is the tristringer on rails in area 4/5? that made me so frustrated I just dropped down to a blaster instead. I'll beat it someday, but not today.
Last night I just beat this one stage where you have to shoot all the balloons before they float away with the squiffer but you also can't shoot any of the wrong balloons or you lose and I got so frustrated the entire thing took me like 30 minutes even though the level itself is only like 5 minutes long without any errors
I really do appreciate the no spoilers because I have so many of your videos to catch up on that I avoided specifically cause I hadnt finished the game it was showcasing yet XD I really do love your animations and I like the new style! Hope it's fun to draw as well
2:01 "Sequels need to go above and beyond." Couldn't agree more. While the story mode looks fun, I'm still not a fan of how unbalanced the multiplayer seems to be. It really is just a glorified update in disguise, it just doesn't offer enough new features to be warranted as a sequel. I personally hoped for more singleplayer modes where you fight CPUs in a Turf War, as a way of practicing online of to just have more fun alone. I don't want to buy this game just for the singleplayer or Salmon Run, since they aren't the main feature of the series.
And for the love of god can we please have different enemies that aren’t just the same octarians? How about have a bunch of furry bears or something? Or maybe have INKtarians? Maybe have ice levels where the whole floor is ice like the alternas.
i love how he says that smallfry isn't some game-breaking thing even though getting to the end of the skill tree increases smallfry's damage and makes him a game-breaking thing
Super glad that I caught this video, your little inkling has been wandering around my square for a while now!!! it's been fun to show off to my friends lmao
I gotta say, having finished this mode (no spoilers i promise :3) the one thing that I'm sad about is that we don't get any extra hero weapons like in Splat 2, where you could unlock them if you beat the whole story with 'em. And the only reason that's a problem is because Splat 3 story mode is so fun I would play all the main missions 10 more times just for weapons I'd never actually use!
I’m honestly so glad they went the octo expansion road of designing levels. Having levels designed around weapons instead of them all being… meh gives them a lot more memorability
ik smallfry's ability to hit enemies isn't super strong, but there's just something funny about throwing him at an enemy and then watch the enemy just panic trying to get him off like he's a little bug or something. but i find it especially funny how the "subs instantly break the objective shields" thing, also applies to him, so you can just throw him at the goal and it's like he's so powerful he is either, A: using his hyper smallfry intelligence to put it together so fast it's almost like he just hits it. or B: so strong that him hitting it is enough to just put it together like he's some kind of cosmic entity.
This is encouraging. Splatty 2's campaign was like the last one but we got something new in DLC. So if 3's campaign is like the last one's DLC and new DLC is promised...
I saw the story mode as an “Easier Octo-Expansion” It had Unique enemies that were also converted Octarians/Octolings The levels too were also really fun, even if they were timed or “avoid the ink”
The main advantage to being australian: time zone magic

Dude I found your plaza post which said "Stay cute and splat fools" and I was literally in awe and honored- Love your content dude! Keep up the humor!
0:11 THE FEETSIES./POS
you popped up in my plaza and i promptly freaked out and remembered how much of your content i used to binge in 2018 and now im here ahh the nostalgia
That tristringer rail level is so hard even the demonstrated in Nintendo Treehouse failed to complete it in three tries.
I really do appreciate the no spoilers because I have so many of your videos to catch up on that I avoided specifically cause I hadnt finished the game it was showcasing yet XD I really do love your animations and I like the new style! Hope it's fun to draw as well
You could call this a pinch of salt series because you haven't done the whole thing
Now that I have finished the entire story mode I can now watch a spoiler free splatoon 3 video
Holy shit after watching the proper Side of Salt on Splatoon 3, this comment aged WONDERFULLY.
Loving all the new content man. Just make sure your taking breaks for yourself every once in awhile.
I wish there was a way just to buy the story mode, Splatoon 2 and 3 look and feel too much like the first for me to want to play the multiplayer
As an Australian, its easier to move here than setting up time zone nonsense
As a Australian, I agree with you
Your outro is legit one of my favorites of any UA-camr, especially you dancing under the salt lol
i love how he says that smallfry isn't some game-breaking thing even though getting to the end of the skill tree increases smallfry's damage and makes him a game-breaking thing
I saw your post in the lobby and it made me so exited to actually see you!! Your artstyle is so cute as always
Thank you so much for not spoiling the game, I'm planning on getting the game on my birthday which is in a day and 2 weeks, I'm so excited!
Your splatfest video got me into Splatoon and i'm LOVING the game
I'm super excited about the story mode! Thank you so much for the spoiler free rundown :D
Everytime I start the game now I see his post somewhere in the city and it reminds of the entire "with a side of salt" series and I love it
Fun fact: there is a full crab mech stage.
Loved the vid. Can’t wait to see the story mode with a side of salt in about a month where you can go more into the boss fights
Super glad that I caught this video, your little inkling has been wandering around my square for a while now!!! it's been fun to show off to my friends lmao
Thank you for not spoiling anything. I am enjoying the story mode so much
I cant believe I've been hanging around this guys channel since waffle time. its ben 14 YEARS and I still end up here.
1:21 „Took a breath, test failed.“ i could imagine that happening…
„Get to the goal before you suffocate“
I gotta say, having finished this mode (no spoilers i promise :3) the one thing that I'm sad about is that we don't get any extra hero weapons like in Splat 2, where you could unlock them if you beat the whole story with 'em. And the only reason that's a problem is because Splat 3 story mode is so fun I would play all the main missions 10 more times just for weapons I'd never actually use!
I’m honestly so glad they went the octo expansion road of designing levels. Having levels designed around weapons instead of them all being… meh gives them a lot more memorability
Scott you’ve been haunting my Solar Lobby
Bro is on the grind with these videos
"You get a spider-squid stage early on and I almost wish I could play an entire game based around it"
Oh, do I have a game for you
I’m glad that you’re enjoying the new story mode despite some of its flaws. Great video.
Looking forward to more splatoon vids and thx for no spoilers!
"i'm surprised there weren't any mario sunshine references" who's gonna tell him vaguely so that it doesn't spoil it.
I know this dosen’t have to do with the video, but I found you in Splattsville when I booted up the game. I even took a screenshot.
ik smallfry's ability to hit enemies isn't super strong, but there's just something funny about throwing him at an enemy and then watch the enemy just panic trying to get him off like he's a little bug or something. but i find it especially funny how the "subs instantly break the objective shields" thing, also applies to him, so you can just throw him at the goal and it's like he's so powerful he is either, A: using his hyper smallfry intelligence to put it together so fast it's almost like he just hits it. or B: so strong that him hitting it is enough to just put it together like he's some kind of cosmic entity.
This is encouraging. Splatty 2's campaign was like the last one but we got something new in DLC. So if 3's campaign is like the last one's DLC and new DLC is promised...
Now we just need a Scott + Hackerling collab and the world can implode into an inky black hole.
I was just searching for something on ssbu and saw you just posted 30 mins ago so I just watched it and it was amazing
"not an amazing game breaking new edition" right until you get the final power up, then he becomes a low-ink 1-shot burst bomb lmaoo
Without mentioning spoilers, Splatoon 3’s story has traumatized me, and I’m not even done yet.
Scott, I saw your Squiddo the first time I made it to Splatsvile--- My game has been blessed.
0:00 me finally coming home from school, nice vid, playing through splatoon 3 rn!
Thank you for no spoilers! Now I can enjoy your content and not get spoiled!
"I can almost guaranty that there's a whole crab bot stage and, that's gonna be fun."
Oh you poor fool. Don't get your hopes up.
"least favorite sunshine mission"
I SWEAR TO GOD IF THERES SOMETHING SIMILAR TO THAT NASTY LITTLE MANTA RAY IM GONNA THROW A FIT....
I saw the story mode as an “Easier Octo-Expansion”
It had Unique enemies that were also converted Octarians/Octolings
The levels too were also really fun, even if they were timed or “avoid the ink”
