@@simpleton8785 Check out Scott's "Splatoon 2 with a side of salt". Cyborg-Chan, (as what CC stands for) started out as the inkling scott played wearing some of the amiibo outfits. (Specifically the Splatoon 2 girl and Splatoon 2 squid amiibo costumes: School Cardigan and the Power Mask Mk I and Power Boots Mk 1)
Over time, as he covered the different ranked modes in Splatoon 2 with their own salts, CC gained a personality and an actual design unique and separate to the typical inkling design/what she wore in-game. Before ultimately utilizing her as a channel mascot that stemmed out from a gag. Like all good character designs since the best characters start out as a joke, lol.
If i had a nickel every time an inkling oc turn into its own character i would have 2 nickels which ist a lot but weird it happed twice

I saw my first "with a side of salt" long before splatoon existed and I always remembered this guy but never really watched more of him. One day I decided to and was like. Wait when did he get a robot anime mascot? So thanks for clearing all that up.

The first spoiler free video I’ve seen on the story mode, AFTER I beat story mode. Greeeeeaaaaaat

1) There is a full crabbot stage.
2) There is also a "took a breath. Failed." stage where you have to use curling bombs to make it to the exit with limited ink. I had a breakdown over this because I didnt know how to make the bombs zoom.
3) Finish the storymode oh my god please please. The final boss is weird as hell and worth it because it's like an acid trip.

4) there is a postgame level that is the Marathon version of "Took a Breath, failed"
Honestly had an easier time with that because you can see what paths you can make, and unlike the level that gives you infinite, doesn't rely on random bullshit on where the curling bomb will bounce too. More time was spent on ONE of the challenges in the level than the limited curling bomb level.
@@lShadow426l this might be on the same difficulty as Girl power station. Not only do you not have to step in enemy ink, you also have curling bombs (which consume about 2/3 of your ink tank) and you can’t refill your ink. And don’t get me started on the accurate precision and length with the curling bombs since the length gets shorter and shorter when you hold down the bomb button. And did I mention that there are a limited amount of checkpoints?

I love how the levels (so far, I'm at Area 3) have a good balance between older Hero Mode style stages and Octo Expansion style stages. I highly recommend anyone going in to play about 65% of an area before moving on to the next (except for the very first, clear every stage there).
Edit: Aside from the very first area, brass kettles have Hero Mode style stages and black ones have Octo Expansion style stages.
Edit 2: Hey, it's me from the future! The rest of the game and finale was pretty sweet, given they weren't terribly difficult. Haven't played [special final stage] yet, I hope it's as tough as advertised!
O I didn’t know that. I just finished 100% (I think) the story and I was wondering why some kettles were different colors. I just chalked it up to harder difficulty or more power eggs but glad I know the difference
I'm pretty sure if a kettle's gold it means you don't have an entry fee.

Its great to see Scott genuinely enjoying himself more, it makes me happy when content creators are happy.
I've played Splat 1 and 2, and well, I was hoping they would break the pattern of me hating online multiplayer games. Unfortunately, they did not, and my efforts to give Turf War "a fair shot" resulted in hours of pain.
But the single player story mode? LOVED IT. I love how creative the Splat universe is and curse me, I'm going to buy Splat 3 just to play the offline content that isn't even half the game.
you should play salmon run, it's like the best part of this game and amps up what i like about the singleplayer so much

Key to loving online multiplayer games is just focusing on your own personal fun. If you suck tho just try some cheese tactics.

I dislike playing the competitive side of Splatoon because I tend to view it as more of a means to an end. The end being unlocking gear & weapons or trying to win splatfests. I don't know if this is the case for you, but for me it's extremely frustrating to have a goal dependent on other people. I think it's 'cause you're not fully in control & are reliant on the skill of other players to succeed. I just can't play ranked most of the time, unless it's a mode I particularly enjoy like "Tower Control".
Despite that sentiment I've found Salmon Run(in Splatoon 2) extremely enjoyable. Even tho I'm still part of a team, I still feel like its up to me to maintain situational awareness & do what is needed. Even when I have under-skilled teammates, a teammate is better than no teammate in salmon run. Salmon Run is also just super chaotic anyway, but Salmonids are fairly predictable in their behavior unlike other players. I'm not sure how to describe it, but Salmon Run felt more like enjoying solo-content that just happened to include other players. (I also never felt like losing in Salmon Run was a big deal unlike in Ranked or Turf War during splatfests)
I'd say if your already paying for Nintendo Online, then you may as well try some multiplayer modes out from time to time. If not, your money & time, don't burn it by torturing yourself.
Story mode is amazing in "splatty 3" the first two were just to get you ready for online, the third feels like an actual story

I finished the story yesterday and I think it was a bit too similar to the previous story modes but it was definitely better and the final boss was awesome

I think storywise and boss-wise it was very different from previous story modes, while also borrowing good systems from Octo Expansion

the story mode was hilarious this time around. no spoilers but the final boss had me cackling the entire time he was talking and I have so many screenshots from the story mode alone
Also I have to say that the campaign is much harder than splat 2, but my favorite addition they made is that you’re not forced to complete every kettle if you don’t want to. As long as you have enough power eggs you can do the least amount of level possible and still beat it

You can actually skip EVERY Kettle in site 6 if you clear every single kettle everywhere else. (Except for the boss)

I'm loving getting back into the game after my hiatus from the series after the Wii U ended it's relevancy. Gotta admit, I liked using the gamepad a bit more for the super jumps, and I really wish Nintendo did a better job on their internet connect-ability.
The little buddy is slightly unique, he constantly inks so he's good for keeping sponges up

I got the reference to the least favorite Mario Sunshine mission
When I got to that boss fight I was dreading it so much, I failed it twice and was about to give up but then I beat it and that was a gratifying moment for me.
So excited with this release since I get to play from launch for once! Hopped into Splat 2 when the Octo Expansion dropped and it was great, but it felt weird missing out on almost a year and a bit of Splat Fests and updates.
Also felt a little star struck when I ran into your Inkling chilling in the hub next to Grizz Co. when I booted up for the first time!

"little buddy isnt that good" yea no his ass is op as shit literally one of the best bombs in the game he insta agro's enemies, can insta break octarian shields , prevent snipers from shooting you with longer range than the hero shot, and his last upgrade is downright game breaking.

It's fun, not as good as octo expansion, but better than the hero modes of previous games.

Gonna be honest, I saw Scott in the plaza and finally remembered to watch this. First time I've seen ANYONE I've recognised, honestly.
The Story Mode is pretty good but admittedly some of the later Stages made me rage almost, especially some of the ones where you have to shoot cube targets on an ink rail. I HATE those Stages.
Some stages I had to stop and put down the game because of how difficult it was. One that stands out is the tristringer on rails in area 4/5? that made me so frustrated I just dropped down to a blaster instead. I'll beat it someday, but not today.
Last night I just beat this one stage where you have to shoot all the balloons before they float away with the squiffer but you also can't shoot any of the wrong balloons or you lose and I got so frustrated the entire thing took me like 30 minutes even though the level itself is only like 5 minutes long without any errors
That tristringer rail level is so hard even the demonstrated in Nintendo Treehouse failed to complete it in three tries.

I saw the story mode as an “Easier Octo-Expansion”
It had Unique enemies that were also converted Octarians/Octolings
The levels too were also really fun, even if they were timed or “avoid the ink”
2:01 "Sequels need to go above and beyond." Couldn't agree more. While the story mode looks fun, I'm still not a fan of how unbalanced the multiplayer seems to be. It really is just a glorified update in disguise, it just doesn't offer enough new features to be warranted as a sequel. I personally hoped for more singleplayer modes where you fight CPUs in a Turf War, as a way of practicing online of to just have more fun alone. I don't want to buy this game just for the singleplayer or Salmon Run, since they aren't the main feature of the series.
And for the love of god can we please have different enemies that aren’t just the same octarians? How about have a bunch of furry bears or something? Or maybe have INKtarians? Maybe have ice levels where the whole floor is ice like the alternas.

I gotta say, having finished this mode (no spoilers i promise :3) the one thing that I'm sad about is that we don't get any extra hero weapons like in Splat 2, where you could unlock them if you beat the whole story with 'em. And the only reason that's a problem is because Splat 3 story mode is so fun I would play all the main missions 10 more times just for weapons I'd never actually use!
ik smallfry's ability to hit enemies isn't super strong, but there's just something funny about throwing him at an enemy and then watch the enemy just panic trying to get him off like he's a little bug or something. but i find it especially funny how the "subs instantly break the objective shields" thing, also applies to him, so you can just throw him at the goal and it's like he's so powerful he is either, A: using his hyper smallfry intelligence to put it together so fast it's almost like he just hits it. or B: so strong that him hitting it is enough to just put it together like he's some kind of cosmic entity.
I’m honestly so glad they went the octo expansion road of designing levels. Having levels designed around weapons instead of them all being… meh gives them a lot more memorability

The one thing I really wished we had gotten was if you had gotten to use small fry as a bomb with you hero shot replica, I think that’d be a really cool insensitive to have people actually use it instead of it basically being a splattershot with a different model
I do hope we get to see another challenge mode dlc like Octo expansion in this one. Maybe it could help see the crossbow and splatanna's full potential? Octo helped me use chargers a lot so I think it would be good practice
well, we do know there'll be some "large scale dlc" that'll be coming in the future, whatever that is about. so its possible.
@@FireSonicYT maybe there is a group (like a corporate family) that is Grizzco and is the reason why it’s still operating after the Splatoon three story mode. It could also give us an opportunity to give us a villainous adult Inkling since we never saw that before. My idea was the Takami family who owns basically everything and something Off the Hook knows about since Pearl came from a rich family.

I absolutely loved the Sunshine reference in the story mode.
I hope in the new splatoon videos, some of them have the style like the ranked guides, where both Scott and CC were commentating, I thought that was pretty neat.

My favorite thing about the single player was how much you can progreess purely via parkour. You can get so far with so few kettles completed
I feel like the Splatoon 3 story mode took what worked with the octo expansion and modified it to be more friendly for new players. I’m really satisfied with the unique challenges, and even found myself just exploring the hub world just because!
Such a relief after 1 and 2’s sole redeeming feature in single player being that first DJ Octavio fight in 1. (I say, having almost 100%ed 2’s story mode with every weapon)

almost forgot when I have an almost complete (missing alt color of the first squid form inkling amiibo) collection (with altered callie and marie zombie amiibo I got at a comicon in 2019. Still was cheaper than buying online at the time. Also, I saw they remade the squid sisters amiibo on bestbuy I guess).
This is encouraging. Splatty 2's campaign was like the last one but we got something new in DLC. So if 3's campaign is like the last one's DLC and new DLC is promised...

I 100% it day one (day 0 technically I played for like 2 hours at midnight) and I am very tired now but it was worth it. Spent all day on the 9th playing it with short breaks for turf war or salmon run. Now I can flex the cool badges and gear I received :)
