What I think happened is that those who witnessed the symbols in the sky branched into three different clans, each with one of the symbols. Now, Deep Cut has formed, and they're each from one of the clans. They probably use their clan's symbols to represent both themselves and their clans. This unintentionally and symbolically(hah) recreates people seeing the 3 symbols united in the sky, by people seeing Deep Cut high up on floats during day 1 and high on a stage together during day 2 of every splatfest. (Please like, I thought hard about this)
