As I worked on it this week I found that when I ordered my brain to recall each word I wasn’t able to think on anything else hallelujah. Instant relief from worries or any negative thoughts. I already have my 2nd verse lined up 😍

I love this, Elle. My parents always had us kids memorize scripture. We memorized in Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, and now I can't tell you how many times it comes through when needed. One of the first scriptures we learned was, Thy Word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against Thee." I feel this is the crux of the matter and why we keep it hidden within us, as well as for the times when the Holy Spirit wants us the share in times of need. Thank you Elle. I got the verse locker app when you mentioned it last year. It is helpful. Another thing that has helped me memorize scripture are songs by Esther Mui on UA-cam. She has a song of Psalm 91 which helped me memorize the entire Psalm. Yes reciting scripture during those hours at night when I cannot sleep really helps so much. I love all 10 reasons you listed today. I really miss seeing Cathy on UA-cam

Hi Elle, what a great video! for me, I find that verses that really speak to me just automatically into my heart, and it takes nothing to remember them. Other than that, I would have to memorize the verse. I have several that are in my head that I pull out when I need them. I cannot go to the dentist without saying corinthians 4:13 over and over and over. I have to say it all the way there and the whole time I am in the dental chair. I would love to join the challenge and memorize a verse each day for the next 30 days. Would you suggest that we pick one that we like and want to memorize or do you think it should just be random, just open the Bible and whatever page it comes to memorize a verse from that page? I have put my focus on walking out the Bible rather than talking out the Bible however, I realize it is equally important to having scriptures that we can pull from when we need them to help ourselves, and more importantly, to help others, so I am in! Thank you so much for this reminder! When my kids were young, they were in Bible quiz at church. Those kids would literally memorize entire books of the Bible! Our brains have more capacity than we realize.
Thankyou for this challenge. I felt I couldn’t retain scripture so I asked God for help and I memorized Isaiah 41:10- Fear not, I am with you, be not dismayed I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

I love this challenge! I always wondered how my brother-in-law (who was a pastor) memorized so much scripture and quoted where it was from. Thank you for motivating us. And Maggie’s reflection was adorable ❤ She’s such a sweet girl 🥰
Memorizing isn’t my strong point but I very much appreciate sharing verses!!! Absolutely agree on keeping God’s Word close. With Him I can handle the overwhelm better
As a child I memorized verses. I taught my children verses and as a teacher at a Christ based school, we memorize verses. However, I didn't until recently start to memorize verses that I had chosen. It's true it doesn't stay stuck as quickly as in the past but it does eventually stay. The verses always come back when they're needed. I've had verses pop into my mind during my own stressful times or when someone around me is experiencing stress. God's word is always right there for us. I recently started attending a different church. One of the many things I love is that they have a scripture of the month. The whole church is working on memorizing that verse. I love it! Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded(I think that means to have full faith in only God). This week’s was a bit more difficult to pick one, so I first went with Revelation 3:19, Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest (I like that word) and repent. But then I also added John 14:21, He that hath my commandments and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. THANK YOU SO MUCH for offering this challenge!!!

I'm just letting you that I took you up on your challenge. Think it's a good idea to try. I chose the chapter/verse, this first one being related to worry. Wrote it down by date in a book designated just for these verses of the week. Also put them into my notes on my phone so I will always have them with me. ANYWAY, I have gone over the verses before I go to bed and if I can't asleep I will say the chapter/verse over and over. AND I'm so excited that at least for this week when I can't get or stay asleep, I read the chapter/verse. It SURE seems to help me.I will know better the more weeks I ad on to this but at least for NOW it helps reciting them. Thank you for such a great,wonderful idea to keep us reading the Bible.Thank you so much!
