Lindsey is a good sport allowing all of us to watch her eat all these delicious foods! This is the second video I watched in the last two days about MDRs on Princess. The other video also raved about the MDR. I'm glad to hear Princess has returned the food in MDR to the quality it was 10+ years ago. In the 2010's the food in the MDR was just OK; now it appears to have reverted back to very good to excellent! Thank you for sharing your food adventures with us.
You are very welcome, and it is our pleasure (quite literally) to share us eating delicious food. It has definitely improved in the past few years on Princess in the MDR.
We have both said Sky Princess is by far the best main dining room we have had.The club class is a really nice touch - just that bit quieter and as you said a few specials. We said we would happily eat in there all week with no specialty dining.
Completely agree, we said it so many times whilst in speciality dining that we'd have been quite happy in the Reserve/Club dining instead (especially in Salty Dog).

@@SuiteNaturedit would be impossible to complain about the service. We did reserve collection dining and the staff were top notch, some of the best we've had on any cruise. The quality and taste of the food were the issue. We had at least one course every night where everybody would take a bite, look at each other, and push the plate away. The staff was apologetic and I honestly got the impression they understood what they were bringing us, but just couldn't do anything about it. Our head waiter Nicola did a special pasta dish every night that he was cooking in the middle of the dining room and that was consistently better than anything we had from the kitchen. Whereas previous cruises on Celebrity, we would always check the menu when they posted it earlier in the day and talk about what we were excited to try, by the end of the cruise we were all dreading going to dinner.
What a massive shame Jay, and what a difference a month made. Wonder if there had been a change in the Kitchen staff? Something very odd as it was outstanding throughout on ours, and we had the opposite, of not normally wanting to do MDRs (Speciality instead) to really looking forward to it, and Nicolas little treats.
Thank you for sharing! Are all menu options from MDR included with no extra charge? Like the liquid desserts? What is the opening hours for breakfast? Also do you know if they have any kids meal options? Thank you!
Hi Angela, all of the menu options we showed in the main dining room were included, and we don't recall seeing any "pay extra" options in there either.. The liquid desserts (coffee and tea) are included, but the alcoholic ones are part of the drinks packages, or pay as you go. The opening times for breakfast vary depending on ports and disembarkation, but generally they are from 6.30/7 am to around 9.30 in the MDR, buffet hours are longer. As far as kid menus goes, we didn't see them but we did see other families onboard who were ordering more kid friendly food (such as chicken nuggets/pizza/burgers) that weren't on the menu so we assume they do.
On this particular ship, Ruby Princess, there was just the one MDR for breakfast (although technically two if you count the reserve class section separately) and yes, on Ruby all had the same menus. On Sun Princess though different MDR's had different menus to each other.
To select the "Reserve Collection", is it availiable while completing your cruise booking or you request the upgraded service onboard? I've never sailed on Princess, but I noticed Ruby Princess sails on the western coastline of the USA, so easy to fly to from Mexico. By the way, THANKS so much for all your videos!
The reserve collection are cabins you choose during booking like any other cabin (inside, oceanview, balcony, mini suite, reserve collection, suite). You can also bid on them after you have booked your cabin via the Bid up upgrade program if there are any spare on your cruise.
