Just the video I was looking for. Picked up one to convert to a cheap gaming computer to get my daughter started in M&K and one dedicated to my garage and 3D Printer.
Just picked one up with a monitor for 26. It’s not beast but I just want to upgrade it enough for some light gaming and stuff for my brother. Plus it’s a fun cheap project
this was my favorite project. a funn sff gaming pc for cheap. def max out the cpu and got with something like a 1030 or 1050ti sff. good luck finding them cheap. prices are nuts!!
Hey there! I've same model, but now I want to upgrade. I was thinking of buying a new laptop but my friend suggested that upgrading the PC will be a great idea, so may you please tell your opinion? Which of the options is better? PS: I need it for purpose of programming and personal use.
you can upgrade it but don't expect much. the cpu is really out dated and most newer programs won't run good on it. Also depends on what your trying to run and do with it will weigh if its worth the upgrade. yes maxing out the specs are cheaper cause the components are old. Depending on the laptop your looking into and the price that might be the better option.

Hello, I like the compact Dell Optiplex 780 in DT format. It is compact and can be laid flat under a screen !! Nowadays, it is rather rare. They all make big lathe machines to put in a motherboard and a power supply, just exaggerating a little bit, that's silly. Can we put an intel 115x or 1200 socket by making modifications? compared to output connectors, how to do it. the old motherboard q45 express is a btx format I believe and not atx as in our time. how to evolve? Do you have any configs to offer us, examples, see tip top live construction videos 🤪 It would be super useful and interesting I think. thank you.
unfortunately with the 780 you are limited to the q45 chipset and board dell has with it. Your only option is to max out the cpu with something like a q9650 like I did, ssd , and more memory. Outside of that you would have to get a whole new computer. I do have a bunch of videos on case modding, paint pc parts, case swaps etc so hopefully some of those video you will find useful.
you most def can get it for free on windows website but without a product key it wont activate. That's the cool thing about these old computer with windows 7 keys. you can use the key and scrap the computer and if you got no use for it or if its junk. I would if this is your only option. the 780 tower is basically the same. Def go for the q9550 cpu, max out the memory, pop in a SSD and a decent video card and you should be able to game some and have a better computer experience!
@@legendaryp854 you have to get the low profile versions and those version don''t have the pci express power connector so you dont have to upgrade the power supply or worry about it.
I would say yes and here's why. First, you can get an ITX board and it will mount up fine, plus you can do some moding to ensure its mounted securely, second, depending on the type of build your doing you can reuse this power supply as it uses the 24 pin connector, don't remember if it had cpu supplemental power, if not then you can def find some adaptors, I would say with a modern low power cpu along with something like a gtx 1650 you can def have a nice sleeper PC. But now if you want a little more power, you might have to look into a sfx power supply and probably do some modding but honestly it would def be worth it to go all out as I have yet so see anyone do a sleeper PC like this.
