- This is day 3 and my last hike in the Ruby Mountains. On this adventure, I do the 4-mile moderate hike to Island Lake! This hike is absolutely beautiful! The amazing views you get while you switch back up of Lamoille Canyon are breathtaking. I saw so many beautiful wildflowers along the trail as well, which was very pleasant. I finally reached Island Lake, which was extremely tranquil and quite lovely, to say the least. This is an awesome hike, and you have to do this one if you visit the Ruby Mountains.

Yeah this would be a great place for you guys to visit totally. There are not a lot of videos on specific hiking trails in the Ruby Mountains so I'm glad I've done 4 of them. Yeah the last hike was a wonderful one to end my trip with! Thank you so much Alex!

Another great video! The dogs and I have been up to Island Lake a few times. Its always a great hike. The last time I was up there (Sept. of 2014) the bridge was in pretty good shape, but it looks like it could use some repair work. Thanks for sharing another great adventure with us!

Yeah this area reminds me a lot of the Sierra Nevada but without the crowds or the bears 🐻. It's a little bit out in the middle of nowhere but it's totally worth visiting if you get the chance. Jason thank you so much for watching and I'm really glad you enjoyed the video.

Yeah it's pretty beautiful up there and very comparable to the Sierra Nevadas. If you don't mind driving 7 hours it's totally worth it. Thank you so much for watching my friend!

Loved the snow on the mountain tops and those Ruby mountains are so cool, real bonus area and well worth the extended stay. What a cool drive that would be along that Highway, I would never have my eyes on the road lol. Two hikes back to back should to a walk in the ark for a young, fit lad like you Eric! Those falls looked real refreshing and Island Lake looked great as did those wildflowers on the trail. What a great visit that has been for you Eric, cheers Alan
Yes it a really beautiful area and driving to the trailhead through Lamoille Canyon is pretty spectacular to say the least. Everything about this trail was great! The wild flowers were definitely abundant and so was the spectacular views along the hike! This was definitely a great way to end my 3 day adventure and it was a very successful trip 😁👍. Thanks for following along the whole time.
Great hike again Eric. I have been missing your videos, it looks like I have a ton to catch up on. The water was so clear at the lake. I love the snow still on the mountain tops. I just did a hike on Sunday and there was still little patches

you must of been high in elevation the the highway looked like a walking trail if it wasn't for the few cars on it and that lake looked so refreshing after the long hike
Yeah the hike climbs up pretty quickly making the cars and everything down below look really tiny! The Lake was super pretty and peaceful which was a perfect ending. Thanks for watching brother
Oh........come on. You have a Gopro. You should of swam out to the island and finished your video their. LOL. Dont know how warm it was, but that water sure looked inviting to take a swim after that uphill and two hikes. The bridge did look a little questionable, but I would have said those famous last words to and crossed it. The Ruby Mountains looked really cool. Thank you for showing all of us this location.
If I was crazy that would be a good idea to swim up to that island and finished the video there lol. Luckily the bridge still does its job and all the hikers including myself when over it safety that day. Thank you so much for joining me on my Ruby Mountains adventure! You know unfortunately I did not. My three days in the Ruby mountains I saw Zero wildlife. But I still enjoyed the scenery.
