Despite being a nobody when he went to Korea now has the one of the biggest fanbase both inside and outside KR. He earned it. A japanese trainee but got 1st in onsite and online voting for the final performance? Not to mentioned those less screentime he gets at ygtb (same with Yoonbin) imagine if he gets the screentime he deserved? He will be scary competitor to other trainee.

True. During the YGTB era, although I appreciated Mashi's skills, I was rooting more for Seunghun on this battle coz I was more Team A + jihoon. But listening to this again now, I could see why YG chose him instead of Seunghun. Mashi could make you feel the message of the song, he makes you relate to him more. Watching the video, you can see that Mashi enjoyed performing more, while Seunghun had this "i have to show what i got" vibes (understandable coz it's a competition and team A seemed to be feeling the bigger pressure that time).. Again, papa YG showed his eye for talent..
