My son was 10, after watching men in tights 1000 times, he saw Cary Elways at our yearly Comicon , innocently skipped the entire line and yelled out, "It's Robin Hood!!!" Cary gave him an autograph right there. When my son left the Comicon, he said, "I wanna go say bye to my friend" to which my wife instructed to him to say to Cary, "Back to you, Loly" (Cary's exaggerated line from from movie, The Chase) Cary really enjoyed that, "You've got a great kid "

That idea of having both Kevin Costner's Robin Hood and Cary Elwes Robin Hood meeting up in a scene and simultaneously saying something like "Oops, I'm in the wrong movie" and then walking off in opposite directions would've made for a hilarious addition

Hot Shots! Part Deux has this kind of scene with the patrol boats passing by on the river. The one they meet has the Martin Sheen character from Platoon repeating voice over from the movie while Charlie Sheen's character is voice overing lines of his character from Apocalypse Now and they both end up yelling to eachother "I loved you on Wall Street!" because they both were in that movie.

I remember watching this on HBO when I was a kid, it was my very first Mel Brooks film.

This was the first time I saw Dave Chappelle! I remember I loved Mel Brooks’ other films like “History of the World Pt. 1” and “Spaceballs”, so I begged my Mom to take me to see this in the theater. I think I was about 12-years-old. I was also a big fan at the time of the Kevin Costner “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” film so was extra excited to see Brooks spoof that. While not a bad film, definitely not up there with Brooks’ best work like the previous two films I mentioned and other classics of his like “Blazing Saddles” and “The Producers”. (The original film with Gene Wilder is waaaaayyyyy better than that trash we got with Matthew Broderick)

There are so many subtle jokes in this that every time I watch it, I find a new one.
