    I need some advice! While attending high school I was shy and quiet,but not a academic person.I was on a desperate search for what I wanted to do with my future and decided to become a doctor. I know it’s crazy for me to want to be something completely out of my league,but I cry over it all the time because I realised what I wanted to do way to late. I realised that my GCSE’s were only 2 months away so i rushed to revision. My heart aches because I’ve never wanted to achieve anything more. I have not got my grades yet but I know that they will not be enough to get into a six form college. Let me give you a quick overview of my predictions:
    Maths-3
    English-4
    Science-4/5
    Art:7
    Creative media- L2P
    Geography-4
    How is it even possible for me to dream to become successful when I know that no one would give me a chance. The last 2 months have been so fun and I’ve only just realised how enjoyable it is to sit quietly in my tiny room and revise topics. My blood boils when I think about why I did not find out that this is what I want to do. I know that I should not feel bad for myself because at the end of the day I messed up, but it is even more frustrating that I can not do anything about it. I need help to find out what I should do.

    • @DoctorKenji
      @DoctorKenji  5 років тому +1

      Don't beat yourself up! I'm not sure what these GCSE grades mean, at the time when I did mine we had As, Bs etc. My advice would be to keep working hard and smash your A-levels and see where you can go once you do well in those :) It's never the end of the world!

    • @joycetam3239
      @joycetam3239 5 років тому +3

      Gcses dont matter as much as your a levels do, so just work hard for your a levels! i heard there are some unis that only look at a levels, or that they're a lott more weighted/taken into account.

    Hi Kenji. Very informative video. I wanted to know if the professors who teach you are pure physicians(mbbs/md) or pure scientists(PhD). And can you make a video on mbbs in UK vs md offered in USA(American degree).

    • @DoctorKenji
      @DoctorKenji  5 років тому +4

      Hey! They tend to be a mixture of both but they are mainly physicians :) that's a great video suggestion, but unfortunately I don't know much about medical school in America! I'll try and see if any of my friends do and see if we can make that video happen

    • @DoctorKenji

      I was inspired to do Medicine after volunteering in the slums in Kenya an when I realised what being a doctor can do for so many people. I speak about it in more detail in my personal statement video :) If a medical school offered you a place, it means they believe in you and that they believe you have what it takes to be a great doctor. So believe in yourself too!

    ive heard plently of medical schools/colleges require students to draw blood. as a needlephobe with a crippling fear, this is putting me off the whole idea of medicine. is it obligatory to do?

    • @DoctorKenji
      @DoctorKenji  4 роки тому

      At my stage, I haven't been specifically required to draw blood but it may be a requirement for our portfolio in 3rd, 4th or 5th year. Even though it might not be mandatory, in the clinical years you might be expected to help the doctors out in doing so and you'll definitely have to do it as a qualified doctor. What I can say though is that although you may not like having your own blood drawn, it's very different to doing it to someone else. Maybe try do some work experience and see if it's something you can get used to :)
