I saw a picture today of a toiletseat mounted on a bourgault drill. Could be something for you Mike🤣💩
Frost seeding spring grains is very common in ontario. Head out to the field about 10pm and plant until sunrise. The frost carries the equipment over soft ground allowing you to get planted nice and early. Crop development before the worst of the summer heat and humidity is the benefit..
I can recall my father picking corn on frosty ground early mornings. Later in the day it got too muddy to operate. But we managed to get the crop out.// Works both ways I guess.
Love your videos Mike. I am a dairy farmer in NZ, all ive wanted to do is just drive tractors all day long like yourself... to some it seems boring but there is only a few who get it.
Not sure why never really been into farming besides playing a little farming sim but I've been watching like 11 videos in a row live it keep it up man
Crazy weather, Snow in April not good...here in Connecticut, USA, on April 16th, i got 7 inches of snow...all melted in 2 days. Happy planting up there in Sask. 😎👍😎
Could be worse. We’ve had Snow in Aug.
Informative video Michael .. I have been a farmer for almost 40 years so I knew what you were going to say next about any hydraulic problems & all . Good luck with your seeding . Are you going to show that fields growth compared to the other ones ?
I can hear the Killdeers in the background! Brings back great memories
Noticed that too.
Thanks Mike!
Great awesome video mike, I’ve done my fair share of frozen ground in field
At least you got a little moisture also enjoy your post Mike
Great video Mike
Loved the ending
Wowwe!!! Thats crazy bro! Man here in North Carolina our corn is about a foot tall and cold weather is the last thing we need to see! We're in dier need of rain tho! Hope things level out for yall!
Damn. Here in western CO they haven’t even planted corn yet. Rule of thumb around here is if you have knee high corn by the 4th of July you’ve got a good crop going. We’re fortunate to have irrigation though.
Great video Mike! Thanks! :)
I love the video and I enjoy watching you
Mike, I have (another) question, how do you feel about autonomous tractors and would you buy them in the future, (loved the outro by the way
I’m not a farmer and I would never watch a program on farming of normal tv. I only work with explosives but I would never miss a single upload on your channel.
Thanks for all the work and effort you put into your channel just for our entertainment. And that a lot of work on top of everything else you do. I know I’m not the only one who appreciates it.
Much love and all the best to you and your whole family from Inverness Scotland.
BTW in my opinion the longer your videos are the better. That’s just me though I guess. Take care my friend.
Thankyou good sir 🙂
Hi love watching your videos
Mike, when you refer to the temperature, us old folk in USA need it to be in Farhenheit as we are too old to learn another system.. Thank you..
Welcome to the party. Edmonton here - 14 days and nothing has popped
Hey men greetings from Poland 😎 damn great machine 👍
Good morning
I always wonder about the direction of rotation of the tires on the seed drill.
At first I thought they were just criticized in the opposite way.
But it seems to be wanted in the factory.
Always think that must be wrong :D
Or do I not understand something ?!
Thank you for your content!
Yahoo, moisture!!
Hi Mike...a bit unrelated to this video but still, just an idea. Is it possible to get some sort of a marker or something like that on your mapping? That way you could just mark a spot on the map if you see any big rocks and simply look at the map when you go rock picking and be sure to pick them up. Same with sprayers and harvesters mapping
Your the best
Is the snow that fell down and froze good for you in the long run by adding some extra moisture? Or was it such a insignificant amount that it doesn't really effect it much in much.
Hey Mike we have tons of extra water here in Oklahoma and its going to rain the next 10 days
Mind sending some up to Manitoba too?
Hey Mike
A question from a danish farmer. Over a period of 5 years, what is your average yield in wheat and Canola?
Hello. Estamos sabendo das dificuldades clima: frio e pouca chuva. De voces de eua. No brasil tambem acontece isso as vezes. Mas vamos em frente produzindo alimento pro mundo👍💪🙏
Question. Hey Mike really enjoying your channel. Do you ever seed the same crop in the same field from year to year ie. Durum in durum or lentils in lentils or do you switch it up year to year.
Nice from norway
When Mike said Bang at 4:11 I literally thought the same, what if this things explodes right in bis face😂
Man Mike. With that snow you should be planting snow peas
THESE ARE THE BEST DAYS EVER SO MUCH MIKKKKEEEEEEEEEEEE HI MIKE LOLOLOL
Scary right?! 😂
Gonna be re seeding some fields here before to long.
Flat tire at 6:03 ! But i bet untill now Mike has already noticed 😂
Its a shadow from a hose that makes it look like its a flat tire
just watched on 0,25 speed (that's a whole new experience on it's own btw. slow mike is like cold lava or warm snow) and holy shit you are right!
Mike, how many acres you guys farm? Watching you plant reminds me of a boat on the open ocean. Can't see anything in any direction but flat ground. Wow!
40k
Hay Mike I'm back.
Just a warning seeding or tillage on frozen ground will wear your drills or cultivators 4 times ar fast. My Grandpa tried this and wore out brand new shovels on hus cultivator in one field i will repeat one field. Expensive.
He has 40,000 acres and been doing this for 30 years, I’m sure he is aware
@@memesandmusic Same here, and like I said just a warning.
More seeding!
Hey Mike i have a question :P
Are you using somekind of Bio Hydraulik Fluid incase stuff hits the fan on the field ?
Cold and really windy. Really windy.
Done lots of seeding in frozen ground in central Saskatchewan
Hey Mike. I know you guys run viper 4s in your patriot sprayers. We just switched over to a viper 4+. Is there a way to turn off section/overlap control while spraying headlands? Do I tap the accuboom widget and it counts down? I just want to spray field corners with overlap off
Highlight of my day
Hey Mike what about only seeding if you can sit on bare ground with your bare Derrière
Seeding to the sound of Let it go, let it go, kkkkkk, save to Brazil...
Howdy Mike
Mike I have a couple of questions. Are the tracks on your farm public rights of way or are they for farm use only? The 20mm or so steel wire rope under the four track, what is that about?
You make the videos however long or short you like Mike. You make the videos, we will watch them.
The tractor had 2 parts it's so that both ends pull together and thay the front doesn't pull apart from the back or something like that.... also you can use it for pulling it out when its stuck
@@andrewgross8235 Thank you
Morning
Mike how wide are each of your drills
Hi Mike, I’ve got a question!
Do all your fields have names? If they do what’s the reason behind the name.
At home all our fields have names. Some more elaborate than others!
Ciao Mike duona semina🇮🇹😊
💝💝💝
Bang! 😂
How do you know your bearings? I’ve never been anywhere that flat😳
All the traction lol
Yes, planting into frozen ground is not ideal, and it would damage equipment if the chunks are hard enough but at least the power poles won't come out of the ground as easy
A wee bit farther to the right Mike would be stuck .🤣🤣🤣😒👍. Take care ,see ya .
i am feeling that some stucks are coming
👍👍👍
I'd have bet a whole lot of money that we'd never hear the words "Kalahari Desert" in a Mike Mitchell video!
Haha the things the come out of my mind! 🤷🏼♂️🤣
It seems like you have figured out to look behind at the edge of the drill without having your view blocked by the back cab piller in the RX.
Oh, it's a big pet peave of mine! Lol
I haven't watched you for to long; so just how many square Miles do you farm? It seems to be vast!
Whats your longest field ik you said the one your in is 2 miles long
What camera do you use ?
Just trying to get a scale of the operation, those planters must be able to plant maybe 50 acres per hour, x5 planters x 18 hrs per day times maybe 30 days. That kind of scale must have an affect on the global price of what you are planting.
hello i'm from poland this is a country in central europe tell me on what acreage do you farm because it's all big
Well Mike there is always first for everything á.
How's it going
Mike I want to get into farming. What grants and loans are available to me in order to do this?
Mike I have questions ..
How is seeding going ...
How far along are you ..
are you 1/2 done ??
Maybe 1/3 done ??
More like 3/4
@@mikemitchell2554 that’s awesome keep up the good work
@@mikemitchell2554 nice! U guys got a head start this year. We are farming 1 hour southeast of swift current and we’re bout half and we started on April 22
Does soil temperature make a difference?? For the seed to start
Most definitely
Mike the Kalahari only has sand, not much soil.
Knock knock.... Who's there. Mike Mitchell. Mike Mitchell who? Mike Mitchell seeding into frozen ground!
Frozen two weeks ago, but now it's so dry it could all burn away if you look at it funny. Isn't dryland farming great?
Wouldn't want to any other way! Haha
22h ago?

Hey mike I got a Question,
Do you Think you are going to have a Stuck this season of seeding?
Some ppl have already! 😂🤷🏼♂️ I don't know how..
@@mikemitchell2554 HAHA
I guess when it thaws you will have moisture hey Mike do ever wear work boots instead tennis shoes
That is tough .👍 ken machine nc 😊 John 3 16 ❤️
More religion.......fabulous.
Snow is moisture! We do not have any moisture in ND !
Question to Farmers.
Where are you? Are you planting or has your crop emerged.
Not a farmer any more. Vancouver valley, BC
Fruit trees blossoms are over and are growing rapidly in the warm rain.
Mike - how many acers does your family farm?
40k+
Hey mike when you guys don’t get much rain do you irrigate your fields
That's not an option for us
Yah they lay out pipes on 30.000 hectare and move them manually 2x a day
How is seeding going so far?
Mike tired.... But going good!
Mike good morning, I'm Brazilian, where in the USA do you record your videos?
Canada
Seed in the dust and your bins will bust. The snow adds nitrogen 👍🏻
Will the 1167MT eventually be around for seeding?
Mike the old timers that have survived that area sometimes just shut it down and did not plant
Mike, how many acres did your Crew seid this year
???
Seed?
@@aloissilly203 he farms around 40 thousand acres
@@dangerdavis5655 danke
Yep global warmin for ya.
Thats sarcasm by the way.
That killdeer didn't have a Canadian accent.😳
But remember! Don't eat yellow snow xD
how many acres does your farm have?
40k+
I'm confused......you say you upload daily to patreon......but you have previously said it's a 200 mile round trip to upload. What am I missing?
UA-cam.. Totally different than Patreon
@@mikemitchell2554 So you can upload a video to patreon from the tractor cab....but need to drive to "civilization" to upload to UA-cam?
You missed some rocks. 😜
Will the frost kill the seeds
No.. But sitting in the soil for a month can
why don't you have CASEIH QuadTracs
Why seed not like to grow in mud?
Over saturated and super thick
Ahh kinked hose, ya hate to see it.
Tell me you like to reseed without actually telling me you like to reseed
