As uncomfortable as it is to watch I feel like Chris had the most normal reaction for someone on this show. It's always been baffling to me how some of these people are too shy to even make a voice call let alone video call for years, and then suddenly two other people and a camera crew showing you to the whole world are involved and they do a 180 and decide to meet up or have a video conference.
i was thinking about this earlier and agree 100%. i didn’t blame him for how he felt or reacted towards the whole thing, and how some do feel nervous showing themselves on tv. one on one is one thing, but to basically the whole world, camera crews and so on, it’s a completely different thing. that’s why sometimes i feel for the introverted catfish(s) cause i’m sure the feeling is super intense, esp. when they are who they said they were for how long.

As someone with anxiety, I can actually relate to some of these people not wanting to show their faces or talk over the phone. But I'm also now seeing how my not wanting to do calls or video chats can come across as shady.
