I recently discovered your videos and I cannot stop binging on them. Your voice is so calming and soothing. I love the sound of the top dressing when it hits the terracotta. I recently retired and your videos are teaching me to slow done and live in the moment. Thank you.
I really enjoy your repotting videos. I love your patience and attention to detail and the fact that you top dress your pots. Could easily watch them all day.
I bought 3 Hoyas in December, and I repot them in terra cotta pots..omg!!..they are growing and giving me new leaves!! I have them in my bedroom near my north facing window..they love it!!
Thanks! Yup, there are so many different Hoyas and they all look so different which makes it so much fun to collect! I can't wait for Spring to come too! 🌻🪴🌼🌷
I love mixing my own soil for my plants and adding different things, I don't think I could ever give that up for leca or pon, and I'm totally with you on the terra cotta pots, I don't think I could give them up as well!
Same, I love just adding whatever and however much I want of various different ingredients 😁Right?? It's too hard to give up those gorgeous terracotta pots!
What beauties! They turned out so well! The red one takes your breath away! The grape one is so nice and that darker splash one is going to be so striking as it gets bigger and full! Thanks for showing the beginning plants that are flowering....love them....I hope you were recharged after repotting all those lovely cuties....see you next time! Hope your all well!
The majority of my plants are in soil. However, I do have my hoya krimson princess in a homemade pon as well as 2 syngoniums. All 3 plants are doing well in the mix ( been in pon over a year now) I also have over 20 different kinds of orchids. Some in a terrestrial orchid mix, some in bark & some in leca.
I love mixing my own soil but I use pon and leca as well, especially when plants are still cuttings. I find they grow so good and much faster in pon/leca. Not that fast is the goal, but I do like it when they grow 😊 I also know people who uses pon in terracotta pots. Just use a glazed saucer and leave a little water in there when you water so it can wick up the moisture through the pot and into the pon. The downside is you have to water a lot more mindfully. I use pon primary because I am a forgetful waterer and makes it easy for me to know if I did water or not 😜
We all get excited to see our plants grow!! That is so good to hear that people do use pon in terracotta pots because I am now even more motivated to try it out!! 😁😁😁 Thanks so much!
I use soil for all my plants. My soil mix is the cactus and succulent soil, i add orchard bark, perlite and charcoal. I don’t like pond and have algae built up also reminds me of a fish tank when they get dirty and the smell too. I like my nursery pots with my decorative pots outside. I like having my plants display collection looking nice and tidy and clean. Don’t like the plastic cups or glass or no drainage holes. Everyone has there own prefer methods what they like. Grow tents and glass cabinets not fond of them either i like growing plants outside. So pretty the Hoya Hanhiae I don’t have any colourful Hoya’s hope i come across them one day.
I'm like you in that sense of having grow tents and glass cabinets - I prefer to just organically have them displayed around the house but like you said, everyone has their preferences and that's the fun in collecting plants. 😀 The Hoya Hanhiae is sunstressed to have that red color so there are actually quite a few Hoyas that you can sunstress to have that beautiful color on their leaves.
I love your videos. Super chill and relaxing. You should do a video on cleaning your terracotta pots,I think it would be kinda interesting to see how you do it. Keep up the great work 😁
Hi Stacy, those Hoyas are so pretty! I love them all. For myself, I have the majority of my houseplants in LECA in self watering pots and so far they all seem to be very happy with it. I also have orchids and most of them are in spaghnum/bark mix, especially the species. I used to use all soil mix for my houseplants, but the watering and repotting was not my favorite chores. :). I say whatever works for you use it!! Great video!! Thank you.
For my substrate I use Leca or DIY pon and Hoyas love it! They have continued to grow all winter long. I definitely had a challenging time growing Hoya on soil
I'm so envious of your collection of terracotta. I don't know why there's so little unique or even nicely designed terracotta on offer in my part of the world. I have quite a lot of bergs potter's terracotta, but they're so expensive, it's not feasible for me to have my whole collection (+60 plants) in them.
I'm always in search of different types of terracotta pots to fuel my terracotta addiction 😆😅 It's true, some of them can cost quite a bit so majority of my terracotta are actually cheaper ones from Amazon and big box stores.
I have all my plants in Lechuza pon and terracotta pots, they all seem happy and grow really well so I don’t think you’ll have a problem. A couple looked a bit sad when transitioning from soil to pon but after a few weeks they perked up. I’ve grown from cuttings and seeds successfully with pon and wouldn’t go back to soil now.
Lindaaa, are you telling me you use pon in terracotta pots?? And they are doing well? 😀😱 You are getting me excited now!! Does the substrate dry out quickly in terracotta?
@@mypetitegarden I do 😁. There is a lovely Dutch UA-camr named Thijmen who has a channel called PlantingPlants and he has several videos about using Lechuza Pon in terracotta pots including an everything you need to know with a downloadable pdf. My plants are very happy and several of my Hoyas although quite young have bloomed 😊. I only have around 80 plants so I keep an eye on watering and top up (bottom watering) when required and flush every now and then, I use SB Invigorator to spray down during the flush/pamper session and Liquid Gold Leaf to fertilise my plants and every now then orchid spray on my Hoyas. I’ll try and link Thijmen’s video below
I have some hoyas in leca. Others are in a potting mix like yours. I'm now experimenting with just coco chip. We'll see. Regardless of the media, I win some, I lose some. I have a couple that have been doing really well then all of a sudden not.
Beautiful Hoyas, I have no doubt you’ll do fine with the ones your friends couldn’t grow, then they’ll want them back 🤣. I’ll be waiting for an update. 😊🤗
Enjoyed watching your re-potting, and I know those little beauties will be full in no time. But is that the actual color of the Hanhiae or is it sun-stressed?
if you can magically merge leca/pon potting with terracotta pots i would love you forever (even more than i already do!). that being said leca/pon is my preferred since i like doing semi-hydro setup!
I’d like to try diff potting mediums. I’ve recently purchased Leca and I’m going to try it out on my Hoya Heuschkeliana variegated then transition a few of my plants to it. I’ve seen that pon calls for zeolite(sp?). Where can I find that? I’ve also found different mixture ratios for pon? What’s yours?
I think I found my Zeolite on Amazon but you can also find it at pet stores that sell aquarium related products. I honestly just eyeball the ratios to my liking - nothing too precise.
Hi Stacy, as usual, I really enjoy watching your videos and it was great to see Ollie too. What is the name of the plant with the red tubular flowers in the beginning of your video. I purchased a small one at a flea market and the seller didn’t know the name. Is it a Hoya? Miss seeing Grayson. The music was really nice. Thanks again.💚🌱🌿

Thank you so much Carmen! ❤️ I love listening to the various sounds of potting up a plant - it's so relaxing. I'm so glad you are enjoying my videos!

That's great!!! So happy for you!!
June 2022.. Hoyas are outside on my patio rack!! Growing like crazy!!!😍😍😍
Wow the Hoya Hanhiae is beautiful!! There must be soooo many hoyas out there!! Just found you so I can’t wait to see more vid7!!💕🌸
They all look great, love the top dressings. Hope they all do well! Hoyas all look so different, which makes them fun. Spring is almost here, yay!
Thanks! Yup, there are so many different Hoyas and they all look so different which makes it so much fun to collect! I can't wait for Spring to come too! 🌻🪴🌼🌷
Gorgeous Hoyas. So therapeutic for me to watch your repot.
Thank you! ❤️
This made me love hoyas even more
They look so cute!
💚🪴🌱🌵
Thanks! Hoyas are so easy to love :)
If you get that to grow your Friends will be calling you the Hoya whisperer. Lol❤️
Haha 😂 funny you say that because she actually does call me that.
Thank you Stacy! Beautiful Hoyas! Your videos are so calming and relaxing. Those Hoyas are going to grow more now that they are in good soil mixture.
Thanks so much Elena! I sure hope they grow well!!
I have Hoya in pon in terracotta pots! I just have the little terracotta trays under them and use that as my reseviour, they all seem very happy!
Thanks for sharing Jenny!! Alright I am convinced and going to give it a go!! 😀
VL9 is so pretty after it gets sun stressed! :D
Man, I want a friend who gives me plants! 😂
Such a huge fan of your plants and relaxing videos 🙌🏽😻
Haha, we trade pretty much, I give her some I no longer love and she gives me some of hers. 😁❤️

Thanks so much Justina! I hope they grow well for me! 😁❤️ Repotting plants (small plants) is always so relaxing for me.
Another lovely repotting video. They look amazing 😍
Thank you so much 😀
I mix pon with my soil my plants seem to love it. As always your voice and that jazzy piano in the background are golden 💚💚
That's great!! I might try that one day too. Thank you so much!
Such a beautiful, relaxing video. Always excited when I see you posted a new video. Very therapeutic.
Thanks so much Linda! ❤️
Ollie close-up 🤩🥰
❤️
I use a mix very similar to yours, my plants seem to love it💚🌱🤗 beautiful Hoyas your repotting.
Thanks so much Cindy :)

That's amazing - so glad pon is working out well for your plants! Pon seems to be a popular choice of medium for Hoyas.

Such a relaxing video, thank you!!!
How do you get red leaves on your Hoya hanhiae? It looks gorgeous!
It's from sunstressing. I had it sitting on my South facing windowsill.
My love of Hoyas~~~💕
Sameee :)
Aaaak love it! 💚
❤️❤️❤️

What type of hoya is this with the red leaves?? So beautiful!! Where do you purchase it?? Can you give me the information?
I have some hoyas in leca. Others are in a potting mix like yours. I'm now experimenting with just coco chip. We'll see. Regardless of the media, I win some, I lose some. I have a couple that have been doing really well then all of a sudden not.
I agree there will always be some thats happy and some not, can't make everyone happy 😆
I bet they will grow for you!
Fingers crossed! 😆
Beautiful Hoyas, I have no doubt you’ll do fine with the ones your friends couldn’t grow, then they’ll want them back 🤣. I’ll be waiting for an update. 😊🤗
😆She said if it grows well for me - I can eventually give her a cutting
@@mypetitegarden I said that in jest, but it’s a win win that way.
If anyone is going to make them grow…it is you!
I hope so!! ❤️
Hi! Enjoy your content, as usual. I was just wondering how often do you water your hoya, considering how chunky your mix is. Thank you!
Right now at least once a week - some a little more than others :)
I love that swirl terracotta planter! Do you mind if I ask where it's from? 😁 Great content as usual! Love the care you have for your plants! 💚
It's from Strange Rock Ceramics :)
Love your content💗 Was wondering where the second pot used in the repot is from? Really want one for my collection😍
It's from Strange Rock Ceramics :)
Enjoyed watching your re-potting, and I know those little beauties will be full in no time. But is that the actual color of the Hanhiae or is it sun-stressed?
Thanks so much! The Hanhiae is sun-stressed - it's naturally green :)
@@mypetitegarden Thanks, it's gorgeous.
O want that red hoya....it looks like a red macrophyllia!!!
if you can magically merge leca/pon potting with terracotta pots i would love you forever (even more than i already do!). that being said leca/pon is my preferred since i like doing semi-hydro setup!
Boy I need to make my mix chunkier I guess. I’m surprised at how much bark is in yours. Why the top dress?
I’d like to try diff potting mediums. I’ve recently purchased Leca and I’m going to try it out on my Hoya Heuschkeliana variegated then transition a few of my plants to it. I like coco chips. I've tried chunky soil/bark it stayed too wet.
Is the top dressing for aesthetics or is it beneficial in any way? For example, would it help keep fungus gnats from laying eggs?

It's a Gracilis Lipstick Plant (Aeschynanthus) :)
Thank you so much.
hello do you have any plants in leca at all anymore?
Hi! Nope I do not currently have any plants growing in LECA.
