Very, very nicely made for under $200, but the logo and branding, or lack thereof, are from a different century. Here's hoping they actually pay someone to come up with a proper logo. But hey, if 'Ye Olde' is your bag, then go for it! Cheers, Jody

I wasn't a fan of his but no one deserves what happened to him. I joined the upvote campaign and voiced my support for him. It just shows how fragile our much needed fix of watch content is. One wrong comment and one upset viewer and we all lose out. Thank God we've still got Jody.
Could not agree more, whoever stitched him up should be ashamed, not only has Gary lost his channel he has also lost any income he was making after losing his job, and the donations he was making to Save The Children has also lost out, whoever did this SHAME ON YOU.

@@cronoswatch8541 hey dude, I've had it for a month now and I've worn it about half that time. It's a sweet watch. I've worn it on the bracelet and a Bond NATO - either way, it's pretty. Great job.
I just wish I'd waited until version 2 came out. As I would have liked the signed crown. And the new font is an improvement as well. Nice to see you listening to your fans.
Im going to get the clasp engraved with my personal motto, so the plain clasp - which is a really nice clasp - isn't a big deal. I especially like the generous number of micro adjusts.

@@cronoswatch8541 FYI - I try to keep track of wrist time for my watches. For October, the 2 watches that got the most wrist time were my Cronos and my Christopher Ward vintage diver manual watch. So you're in great company!

It's a great buy if you want a very decent watch for a low expenditure. Whilst the cronos logo isn't ideal, it's bearable and better than there old Lugyu branding . Nice review Jodie.

I just Got Mine Today and Love it. The Lume is bright . However doesn't last as long on bezel. I hit mine with UV Light . This is my first Lumed bezel watch.. Shipping was quick. I got the Black Dial. The Bond 2 piece nato is a little short. I wish it were a little longer. I like the bracelet it is SOLID. It winds like butter. I love the second hand. I wish there were pointer hour hand.

Nice! I just received a Steeldive 1952 diver today and it came in the same black case. Same with my San Martin 62MAS homage as well. I’ve been considering this Cronos with sterile dial. All are great timepieces for the money!
The Crown is nice as far as grip and size. I had no problems setting and winding. If anyone has any questions just ask. I am on HONEYMOON WITH THIS WATCH i JUST GOT TODAY.
I have the San Martin SN001 version of this watch. Absolutely love it. I prefer the brushed case and bracelet. It also has a signed crown, bruckle and caseback too.
One reviewer on Ali Express compared this watch (which he purchased) to his San Martin and found it wanting. The lume, in particular, was not as good. I wish this review had made a more direct comparison to watches in the same price range rather than a hard cut off at $200 which was based, in part, on a discount code.

I have been wearing mine now for a few days. And the bracelet is very comfortable. Unlike a some other brands that have mutant clasps. This beauty wears like a Favorite T-Shirt

Great review and really nice watch. Wish it had a date and maybe even the day as well. Logo looks ok to me and like the clean case back. Hands and layered dial look great.
Just got one today. Original font as I bought in late August. Yes, it took two months to make it to Texas. Looks great; I'm okay with the logo...maybe because I never paid any attention to Conan the Barbarian shows. It is a bit on the blingy side for me. I think I would prefer an all brushed bracelet but that would also require brushing on top of the lugs. It really feels great to wear. Great watch--it seems well finished/made. I did not have a blue watch so I got the blue version. Thanks for the review. It was interesting to see someone else's point of view.

Jody- Great Video even if this is not my cup of tea for a divers! I see that Cronos even uses your review on the website for this watch! I hope you get something for that and it's great to see the manufacturer respecting your reach and influence as a UA-camr by adjusting to your comments as quickly as they did! You're right, the signed crown makes it look much more finished event with the "snake eyes" double triangles logo! Cheers!
Even though it's heavily influenced by the Omega, I do appreciate them putting a little bit of their own flair with some of the modifications.

I matched up the end links on My example of the Cronos and the Tisell Submersible End Links. And the Cronos end links While protruding the Cronos end links are about Half Size of Tisell Submersible end links I noticed that this is one factor that helped it hug the wrist a little better than that of it's competitor
I got a Spring bar tool and screw Driver as well. And with the Nylon Strap I got curved spring Bars

I have a couple of Omegas, but the 300M isn't in the budget. I grabbed this one for my birthday and in person it's a really nice watch. The bracelet is very pleasant to wear and the whole package just feels solid.
Wearing it on a 1 piece Bond NATO and it looks really nice and feels great for desk diving.
The bezel has a light touch but it nice to manipulate. BTW, Ivan over at Perth feels 240 clicks - if I really play attention I kind of year what he's talking about.
I miss the signed crown, but it threads nicely and feels great - no sandiness.
The logo doesn't bother me.

I checked Cronos on Aliexpress yesterday. They seemed to listen to the comments regarding the font of their brand a bit outdated and changed it to a a better one. Because of that, I'm thinking of buying one now. 😂
I'm not here to make comercial of another watch reviews channel, but I think we must help Gary from I Like Watches since his channel was deleted unfairly by UA-cam, btw his channel was the one who rebrand the LGY watch store.
There used to be a San Martin version of this watched called "tiger sharks" and it was even nicer with brushed lugs and all brushed bracelet but it discontinued. As for the Cronos logo. Everybody is entitled to their opinion but I honestly think this case is a bit of a hive mentality thinking. Similar to Christopher Ward. Even people who are indifferent about it eventually start trashing it because that is "how it is". Some things are repeated so often they become a "fact". The Cronos name and the logo have received more hate than Steel Bagelsport has all these years and that's ridiculous. Some people even go as far as to say "Lugyou" was better. For me, the name is fine, the logo is fine. The font could have been better but I wouldn't even consider it mediocre let alone "horrible". It's a million times better than the Formex logo for example.

I've hated the C.W. logo & name from the start. Main reason is the person doesn't exist and having a name on any object reminds me of being back at school.
However, I do like the 2 flags logo they have ( England & Switzerland) and think only that should be used in the dial. A shame as the watches have a decent reputation ( need more 38 mm watches though) . Cheers.

A darn handsome watch, especially in profile. The first "proper money watch " I ever bought was a Seamaster 300 - I'm, wearing it as I watch this. So good a watch is it that I have resisted every impulse to flip it for what, 6 years?, despite selling almost everything else off hell west and crooked to help fund my retirement. So they chose a fine watch to homage, a watch that does a great deal with great understatement.
That logo looks like it came off the box of an early 2000s computer RPG.

I like the shade of blue but I'm not sure if it cheapens it. And extended end links ! There are better ways I'm sure. Maybe halved ?

Really like that dial color and texture. I see plenty of opportunity for logo improvement here -- the name and the little hourglass symbol are promising, it just needs a nice balanced sans-serif font to go with it. With the typeface they borrowed from the old animated Lord of the Rings, the hourglass somehow reminds me more of the mark on a Black Widow spider, lending the whole thing a slightly venomous, threatening Shelob vibe. And not in the fun way.
Just ordered one for €141 ($167 approx) off Ali. New font and signed crown. Very happy with the value.
Just went berzerk on aliexpress an ordered 2 Paganis and 2 Cronos to hone on my skills as a amateur. I own a 97 SM300 and I'll be comparing. If these Chinese watches are 50% you guys say, this will be fun. Blue/white/red striped NATO bands here we go!

Nice reveiw, I'm one of the people who don't mind the name, the font they used or the logo. In fact I like the logo the least of the these.
But I'd just like to add that I've only been in the watch scene for a few years, and the quailty of watch you can get now from these chinese makers is just Incredible. It's certainly come on along way in just a few short years.
Debert did an Omega Seamaster planet ocean homage some years ago for about half that price,pretty good but with the old Miyota 8215 movement.I still have mine and it's very good................................

Actually I would love a watch with a Conan the Barbarian name font and logo - in a limited production run it would easily become a collectors item (so long as it also has good specs and QC).

Looking at this watch today it seems like they took your review comments to heart . Toned down the font and added the logo to the crown. Don't know about the clasp but name is O.K. with me. Will probably get one on 11/11. Only wish they would use the logo or name on dial, not both.
I agree that a lot of these Chinese made watches are all coming out the same factory. I bought a steeldive turtle only the other day and it came in the same packaging, box as this one. There's also very similar things about the watches. The finish, the bracelet and just the overall look. Still, they're knocking them out at bargain prices and the quality is not half bad. Great review. Thanks.

I was impressed with the Steeldive, bracelet and rubber straps supplied are a bit meh - but as for the watch, great for the money. San Martin rubber straps seem better than average.
Steeldive and San Martin are from the same factory but San Martin watches are consistently better
@@oror1260 Interestingly (or not) the 'waffle' rubber strap that came with my san Martin, was considerably better quality than the Steeldives version - my point, the straps look like they are from a different factory - if not the watches?
I got a torch and measuring calipers in same box. I'd be surprised if San Martin LGY et al made them 😁

My first impression is that it also looks like the Axios flagship... I’m liking the vintage theme.
I actually do notice the difference between 3Hz and 4Hz on the wrist occasionally! The wearer would have to be sitting down on the train or something, but strangely I can pick it up
I like the logo. Reminds me of the font on the Conan the Barbarian movies. Or dungeons and dragons. Fond memories of my childhood. The only thing I would change on that watch would be omit the hourglass at 12 o’clock and replace it with the number 12.
Really agree with your review think if they just had the Hourglass logo it would be superb!

I was surprised to see the name of this watch - I don’t know about the rest of the world but in parts of Europe, Kronos is a well established brand.
A nice looker apart from the logo which was written by a drunk calligrapher, but not bad at all for the price.

This seems a very decent watch for the money. It is even different enough from the Omega to not be just a straight copy.
I saw these on Ali a couple weeks ago or so, and thought they looked pretty badass, but they should have put the "12" numeral on it and put an hourglass beneath it. 😂 Still, for $200, this is pretty darn nice. Thanks Jody!

This actually looks VERY similar to the Richard LeGrand Oceanfarer I recently bought. The case shape, pretty much exact hand set, the bezel, the bezel markings . . .
Thanks for the review! This factory lifted the Chinese products in my eyes, I have 3 watches from them. But once you go 4Hz, you can't go back. I build and mod watches with ST2130 for the smooth sweeping of the second hand. I will probably not do that based on NH35s.

Totally agree. 21600vph movements look completely off once you’ve had a 28800vph movement on your wrist. Intellectually, I know that the Powermatic 80s are technologically superior to the 2824-2, but I avoid them for this exact reason. I wish more companies would use a Miyota 9015- family, or 2824-2/SW200/ST2130/PT5000 movement in their watches for the beat rate. I don’t mind homages, but when the beat rate of the movement does not match the original, it just looks WRONG.
Know what you mean. The NH 35 is a piece of cake to work with but I found the st2130 to be a bit more delicate. The second hand sweep is just gorgeous though and it's more accurate than my nh35s too.
I have both, and honestly never noticed the difference, moreover adjusting ETA2824-2 is pain in the arse as you can bend the bridge while doing that (if you push your screwdriver too hard against the screw). NH35 can be easily adjusted very close to zero if you want them to. I did that on all of my Seiko\Orient watches to keep the time 0+2 spd, I have Certina with ETA2824-2 which is now -5spd and had chineese watch with ST2130 running +15spd, and I couldn't find anyone who would adjust them.

@@JustOneMoreWatch fair point. I'm not sure if there was a democratic process involved or anything. I think as far as AliExpress brands go it's not too bad. I prefer it over Islander watches that are really great, but I can't get over the logo.
I am more interested in the overall quality and performance of the watch than what the name looks or not looks like...
Homage watches shouldn't be expected to have the most blazing cool names.
With so many watch brands for so many years, it's not easy to develop something original.
I consider the Chronos name to be a sub name for the company. It's better than Lug You.
@@JustOneMoreWatch from what I understand, the logo and name were done by ILW, but the font was chosen by the guy who runs Lugyou and he likes it and won't change it, based of a vlog from ILW. So yes, design by committee, but not youtube committee so much.

I think it would look sensational on a beads of rice bracelet. It is a Omega homage no doubts but it is just beautiful. Nice review as usual.
I'd take solid end links and a ceramic bezel over a crap looking logo any day (vs Orient Komatsu ). People love to disregard a watch for niggling issues, while overlooking key features on other watches.

I love this watch-- Especially the textured face! Anything that does a decent Omega homage for $200 usd is collection-worthy, imho.
However, I agree with you, Jody, that the logo ain't that great-- it needs to shrink and/or change... I *do* like the name, though...
Another point I'm with you on: *Conan the Barbarian* would NEVER wear a watch like this! I'm pretty sure he'd go for a gigantic G-shock, or (MORE likely) a wonderfully gargantuan Invicta...
Anyhoo, now back to our show! It's really a small thing, but my only pet peeve on the Cronos is that I don't think the blue works well with the "vintage yellow" indices... Maybe if I saw it in person... I KNOW black would!

Personally I find the font oddly charming. Name and logo are acceptable. Right now I am perfectly content with my freshly arrived blue Direnzo DRZ03, but the black one could be worth keeping an eye on during some AliExpress sale!

I got a Corgeut same homage....ceramic bezel, double domed sapphire exactly same polished and finished case. Miyota movement for $60. Yes it is not Seiko movement, but if I am going get a Chinese Homage anyway....I can get 3 Corgeuts for one of this.
I like the hourglass, but the Klingon font and home world I'm not as keen on. They are fine I guess.

I created the Logo. Admitadly, I am not a graphic designer but I didn't think I did too poorly.
As a fan, I'm a bit crestfallen that you dislike the logo so much, but you are entitled to your opinion.
Personally. I like the font and think it has the right feel to represent the ancient world. And though it may be a little on the nose, I think the hourglass logo represents the Greek god of time pretty well.
I stand by my design and hope others will like it too.
If you watch to the end of the video, he says he doesn't mind the logo but doesn't like the font if that helps at all.

As always a great review. The watch is nice, but nothing unusual.
A much better option in my opinion would be; The MAS Irukandji Diver, built in Australia, it looks great.

@@JustOneMoreWatch Yep! It's Omegish, but not a 1:1. The hands are different, the bracelet is more Rolex than Omega, and it doesn't have the helium valve. I'm quite keen, and will probably end up getting the white-dialed, Pepsi-bezel one in a month or two

It’s strange to see that Jody hates the Cronos font but has no problem with the “Pagani Design” name. I think this logo and branding is fine, specially if you compare it with Pagani Design. Because, you know, “Design”.
That's a nice watch for the money, every time I see Cronos and the logo it makes me think of 70s Arnnie sword and sorcery movies.

I am not a fan of the indices and hand set color, but get that it is a homage nod to the omega, which they have done an overall nice job.
Branding is, shall we say, subjective if you like it or not. I find the Omega dial, which has the exact same layout for the branding, good, but nothing special. I actually prefer the Cronos font as something a little different than what almost every other watch company is doing. Having seen people review the Formex watch and provide only a passing reference to their branding effort on $2k watches, I am all too aware that it is a rather subjective area. I happen to like the Cronos and the Omega is fine too, won’t trash how Omega came up with it, won’t trash how Cronos came up with it.
Love the textured dial, like the proportions on the handset, Blue looks better than I thought it would, but still don’t like the blue and hand/indice colour combo. I think you are bang on with the proper addition of the logo on the crown and case back, and something on the clasp, perhaps the name in arial bold 8....😂 let the controversial dialog begin...😇
Would love an Omega, can't afford one,and even if I could I think I would prefer my green kamasu on a strapcode super j, it's simply superb, gains less than 7 seconds a week!
