While I still do think it's possible but rare for exes to be true, healthy friends, I definitely don't think this case falls under it now. Too many issues, and we're both very different people now. I am a psych major and can explain dreams a little bit- it's literally just our brain randomly firing and desperately trying to make sense of it. Dreams tends to be based on our recent experiences and thoughts. And yeah sometimes real world experiences seep in hence the needing to pee. Dreaming happens during REM sleep which is an incredibly important part of sleeping so there's no way out of it. Dreams are less symbols and more our brain just trying to make sense of what is essentially a key smash of our most used keys. But a dream journal could be interesting and help figure out what you've been thinking about a lot recently, but there's a lot less information in dreams than most people think there is
I'm best friends with my ex and we didn't need that long of a quiet period! Just be honest throughout your relationship and if it ends well it's likely that you'll keep being friends! Of course, if both people are ok with being friends.
