Very true . Addressing people's delusions about this profession is very important.
Those asking why did you become a Doctor then? - Answer is simple. A 16yo kid chosing PCB after 10th has zero idea about this profession esp if he is from a non-dr background . It should really be an informed decisionn and thats what mam is trying to do here .

Wish I had someone to tell this to me 6 years ago. Apart from losing interest in medicine, I have an added guilt of studying it from a private college and spending lakhs there. This guilt is not letting me quit medicine and look for an alternative career.

Totally agree with you ma’am… and if you are a foreign medical graduate, then the incubation period is even more 😢 med school then fmg exam then wait for starting internship, learn new skills in the hospital to gain some exposure and then study for Neet pg… Students are dependent on their parents, unsure of the future… having midlife crisis even before midlife 😕😕 I just hope there is a light at the end of this tunnel ..

I think india should also adopt United states path to become a doctor. Four years of UG (pre med) then MD. It’s a good culture i guess. Students at the age of 24-25 already become mature and more clear about their career. So there won’t be any such difficulties, i guess.

well im a btech student , but frankly speaking u dnt have no clues wht r the cons of other fields. for me medicine is tough but its straight forward , u dnt need to think abt lot of options for better future.n ya engineering jobs r not satisfactory, infact many of my frnds now cleared neet ,n doing mbbs after btech.n ya 4.5 yrs after tht u will get to pay right. so no matters after pg u will get a descent amt of1 lakh even if u r not doing any extra cases . so its good ,sometimes its hectic ,specially delhi is more, try to shift in village area after tht it would be much easier.mbbs is way better than btech even if u r frm iit. n ya pg is difficult ,but there u can do frm private ,if u did mbbs from govt.

After almost completing 1st year of drop, many times, by seeing these kind of videos, telling dark side of medicine, I get really very confused on my decision of pursuing MBBS as a career option. I had taken the decision just because I loved bio, and learning about human systems, how body works and of course, thinking that is a very noble profession and all the reasons you told me.. but, I have been a very sensitive person throughout my life, I feel like I won't be able to handle these things.. but then I also think If I won't take challenges, how would I grow? I am just very confused by these conflicting thoughts.. what should I do? Any suggestions?
