I enjoy your videos and have no problem with what you do, but it hurts that you don't know those players... Doby and Howard are historic figures. All of the cards you got except for Bolling and the Yankee pitcher were legit stars.

Real snappy cards~! I love the stark, flashbulb foreground lighting with muted background of 1957 cards - the stoic expressions and thousand yard stares. It's like mid-soviet-era "Ideal Socialist Man" propaganda statuary. LOL - love it~! Ink pigment looks really nicely preserved on the Mantle and Mays - hope those come back with real good grades, chief. I feel selfish for the amount of static you get, and also the enjoyment I derive - big thanks for the journey~!

Great vid BeeKeeper. Thanks for sharing these are some unique cards! Ignore the negative people in these comments they are obviously mad and jealous. Keep doing what you’re doing and what makes you happy! 🐝🐝🐝

Mad? No. The "negative" comments are from people that are smarter than you. Try listening to their advice.

I've never had a whole lot of 1957s, so it's always fun seeing what the players look like on those cards.

Larry Doby (pronounced "Doe-bee"). He's a hall of famer. I'm sure his card his worth more than $70. Howard is a good card, too.

Thx for the pronunciation help. I'm horrible at pronouncing things. We had italian dinner last night and my family hazed me on how bad I was pronouncing everything. But i do appreciate the help with "Doe-bee". Cheers!

I agree about Elston Howard. He's historic. First African-American on the Yankees, and first African-American MVP in the American League

Congratulations on more terrific cards! Don’t pay attention to what people say, if you enjoy it, and you can afford it then do it !! You only live once . Please make a video of what you get for grades. Good luck!!

That mays looks pretty nice (on my phone at least lol). Hopefully a 5 or higher. Agreed on the mantle 2 seems likely maybe a tiny hope and a dream for slightly higher. Not a money making outcome but thanks again for sharing your experience!

I'm surprised that you don't seem to know who Larry Doby and Elston Howard are. You also seem to be hung up on what the cards will grade. You are never going to get high grades out of repackaged Christmas packs.

Gouge in the Mantle top left corner hurts grade pretty bad, but Mays and other HOFers are solid mid-grades. These are the chances you take even with reputable sellers. Gems are rare.

Larry Doby broke the color barrier for the American league. Just like Jackie Robinson did for the Dodgers and the NL. You obviously don't know much about the history of the game. Maybe you'll dive deep and actually learn about them. Respect the history. It'll surprise you

I really appreciate the input. That is why I love getting back into this hobby. My era was mostly the late 70's and early 80's. Candidly, I didn't know much about some of the greats (besides the obvious names) from the pre-1970 era. But now I'm re-learning the history and I have a a much greater appreciation at this stage of my life. Cheers.

@@BeeKeeperSportsCards-sr2mz not meant to be negative.. just a great opportunity with the internet at your fingers to learn about some great HOFers and greats of the game. I have played and followed religiously since I was a kid in the 60's. Don't know it all, but I know alot and am willing to further educate myself with more facts. The love of the history of a great game

If you can afford it. And you enjoy it. That's all that matters. I'm curious about how old you are and if you collected cards when you were younger, like the majority of us. I'm 47, and my first card experience, I believe, was 84 or 85 topps football and garbage pail kids, and late in 88, I got a complete set of topps and started my baseball card collection. Did some football and basketball but liked baseball the most, and still do.

Yep...I think we are all around the same genre. I'm in my mid-50's. I mowed lawns as a kid in the late 70's and I would drive my bike to Kroger and use my money to buy as much 1970's and early 1980's baseball and football. Like many of us....I stored them and didn't look at my cards for 30+ years. Now I'm at a place in life to relieve those childhood memories and begin to re-appreicate our hobby. Thx again!

Those damaged cards were put in the pack like that. Selling repackaged cards is one thing, selling repackaged damaged cards is an entire different animal. Especially for the price you paid. That is ridiculous. I would definitely let the seller know there were damaged cards put in the pack.

That Mays is in a way better shape than the one I got from topps in a 2019 update retail pack. Pulled a redemption for an original 1957 Mays it came in a BGS style slab labeled 150 greatest cards 1/1. I have a couple videos on my channel about it. I wish I would have kept it.

Thx for watching and I too am hopeful for the Mays PSA result. Maybe I'm too optimistic, but I'm "hoping" for a PSA 6 or 7 maybe. Based upon my results lately, I would guess I get a "5". I will post the blind reveal once they come back. Cheers.

It's pronounced LARRY DOE-BEE . The first black player in the American League!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do your homework first. I can't believe the younger generation brutalize the name pronunciation of the older baseball players. Almost all UA-cam people mess up the older players names.

So, after watching several of your videos, a few things have become obvious.
    1. You have a huge amount of disposable income.
    2. Based on the fact you didn't say toploader or penny sleeves in describing the "cases" you were out of, screams, you are brand new at this game.
    3. You appear to be using this hobby as an investment rather than an enjoyment.
    4. You seem likable enough, but continue to wear those ridiculous white gloves, and you'll quickly change that.

    • @BeeKeeperSportsCards-sr2mz

Thx for watching. 😀As far as #1....I'm spending money that won't hurt me if I make a bad sports card purchase, but at the same time, I do try to be prudent and not entirely foolish. For #2. I've been enjoying sports cards for 40 years, but took a hiatus for the last 30 years. Only in the last year have I started putting them in "card holders".....so yes, my terminology is bad, but I'm doing ok on the actual 'proper' procedures to secure the cards. #3. 60% ENJOYMENT and 40% investment. Learning the hobby and the history is my main gratification....sure, I want to make money, but I won't lose sleep if my grades or purchases don't work out in the short-term. #4. Thanks for the likable comment...life's too short and I always try to have a smile and be optimistic. As far as the gloves....I know!! It's a bad habit and worse look...but man are they comfortable! Cheers 😀

Amazing reveal BK! You're my favorite channel on UA-cam. I love that you do this because it makes YOU HAPPY. Don't listen to the naysayers. P.S. You should hit up my best friend @Kiparmadillo if you ever want help restoring the edge on that Milt Bolling. He turned my PSA 3 1972 Jackson into a PSA 7 after soaking it in Kurt's Card Care juice! Keep ripping BK!
