The narration here is so 1950's simpleminded, geez, lol. This is what George Will was referring to in his discussion of Mays in episode 7 (The Capital of Baseball) of Ken Burns Baseball documentary. Thankfully such narration is more informed today.
@@TheBatugan77 Giants we’re playing the Red Sox. I was seated in row 1 by the gate that opens for vehicles to come onto the field. Willie was in one vintage convertible and Monte in another. They went by about 12 feet away.
Willie missed that neighborhood in nyc when no one in San Francisco wanted to live next to him giants should have stayed in ny and sent the Mets to San Fran literally willie even came back to finish with the Mets I wonder why the players liked ny better
My favorite all time Mr Mays moment is Willie hanging out with the kids in New York enjoying some ice cream!
Rest In Paradise Mr. Mays 🙏
😢 RIP to the say hey kid
What a time capsule. Wish I had seen Willie in the Polo Grounds.
Other than Mays, I don't know how many former members of the old New York Giants are still with us.
Go Giants⚾️💪🏽
Happy birthday Willie Mays!
American hero, legend, baseball god!
Mr Mays looked Jacked 💪🏾
Happy Birthday Willie Mays say hey 90

SAY, HEY 💜
Happy Birthday My Brotha
Willie was Joe Torre's favorite player when Joe was a teenager growing up in NYC.
Nothing like playing stickball on a busy New York street.
Come back to nyc please 😢
My grandfather would smile in his grave
Back when New York was the only city with three teams.
Does anyone know what year this is from exactly ?
It's gotta be 1955
1954
I was at the ballpark in the city when Monte Irvin’s number was retired . Willie was there. Monte was Willie’s roommate when he was a rookie.
Irvin had a massive world series in 1951.

The Mets didn't exist when the Giants moved to SF in 1958.
