I'm not gonna lie, I actually really like the colour combo post-morph! It's kind of vanilla custard and strawberry cake-ish. ^^ The finished one is also really pretty, but I think the yellow accents the pink very nicely too. :)
Soaper here! I have a guess! I'd wager it was the combo of that fragrance plus the heat generated by the extra water, milk, & and TD. The fragrance likely goes yellow/scorches with excess heat, as I've encountered that phenomenon before. Plus, those milks just love to go yellow when they scorch from overheating, on top of causing overheating themselves. The bottom layer was likely fine because it was thinner trace, and had the big advantage of setting up as a thin half-layer, losing much of that inital saponification heat out of the top before the next layer was poured. Lower water meant it would take a much higher temp to gel anyway, and less TD means it generates less heat in general. In other words, my best guess is it was a perfect storm of it all. Milk+extra water+ all TD+ floral scent+prewarmed base layer=overheating soap. But ultimately, a fragrance that goes yellow with heat is the most frustrating kind, because it will never be noted in the manufacturer notes, and is the fastest way to kill the look of your entire batch. They also tend to form a discolored rhind around the soap as well, which is sort of their tell for some reason. I had a teakwood scent turn my blue mountain scape soap a horrid shade of puce green thanks to a hot gel phase, and I still mourn that soap! Soaped cooler my next round using it, and it was fine. Anywho, that's my conspiracy theory about what went wrong.
My kitten watched this video with me. He thought your black gloves were bugs so every time they moved across the screen he tried to pounce on my phone to get them! He was going crazy when you were swirling the top lol
My husband and I pick out cards for each other while together in the store. Then read them and put them back and go out for ice cream with the money we saved by not buying the cards. For us the big holiday is February 15th, half priced chocolate day!
the discoloration reminds me of strawberry lemonade, even if it was unintended. it's surprising to me that only one half went through gel, since it's not something I've heard about before. still looks very nice though!
After my abusive ex-husband went ballistic on V Day, I have not wanted to celebrate the holiday ... for good reason, I think. This happened a long time ago ... I got help immediately, the divorce was soon after, and after I recovered, I've gone on to lead a very good life - much better than I would have if I stayed and "tried to fix things".
You and other UA-cam soapers inspired me to make soap a few years ago. I made a lot, and it lasted us a long while, but we did eventually run out. I've had higher priorities than making soap, so we've been using "regular" soap, and it's just not as good. My husband asked me to buy some soap because he was tired of the other junk; my Royalty Soaps shipment came in yesterday. The kids are so excited, and we're all so happy to have good soap again. Thanks, Katie! Also, we went to a local museum with our homeschool group the other day, and when the lady who was presenting to us about how people used to live, she asked what everyone does with their bacon grease. I was so proud of my kids going, "Save it!" When she asked what the old farmers would have done with it, they said, "Make soap!" ❤
You know how the vanilla fragrance turns everything brown but you still add brown to make sure it turns brown evenly? Maybe it's something like that where it needed more mica to hold it's color
Never heard of Valentines Day boxes. In Germany Valentines Day isn't a thing. Yes, some women like getting gifts or having a nice date, but we don't decorate for this day. I love this colour morph by the way. It's a nice yellow!
Never liked valentines day, and it's just another day to me. It was okay as a kid... Minus 2nd grade... Got sick the day after... Just not a romantic person, and I think I'd rather be single for the rest of my life now.
I really want to see a picture of that Eye of Sauron Valentine box! :D Now that I have a regular job again, I will be bringing back my tradition of wearing all black on Valentine's Day. Being single, that's the only way I "celebrate" the day. And maybe by buying discounted chocolate on the 15th. Lol. Btw, the website is gorgeous.
I honestly loved the yellow. It was the perfect shade to go with the pink and made me sort of think of old yellowed paper. Loved the final design too but the accidental yellow really played to my preferences.
It’s always been a meh holiday for me. Im 29 and I’ve never had a boyfriend (I have a master’s degree but no boyfriend!) so this holiday just reminds me how alone I am and gets me thinking there’s something wrong with me, and less hopeful for the future.
Don't worry! Everything happens in its perfect time. Prayers and best wishes!❤ Who knows? Maybe your first will be your one answer only. That's really cool!
I just make sure my family feels apreciated on Valentine’s day. I don’t really see the romance of it, just see it as an apreciation day. But seeing people stressing about buying expencive gifts and such, really makes me just wanna yeet the day off the calendar.
We don't really decorate the house, but in my house growing up valentines was always a celebration of our family's love for each other not just romantic love between my parents. They would get us a rose or chocolate and my mum would make us little valentines cards and one year my dad made dinner and he cut the carrots and roast potatoes into love heart shapes! It's really nice.
Valentine's Day is my favorite holiday ONLY because I help out my family's flower shop by delivering arrangements around town. I look forward to this every year and I help out Feb 13th and Feb 14th. It's so much fun! Last year was the first year that my son got to help out with delivering flowers around town. It truly is a family affair. 🤣😂
Valentine's is honestly more fun when I'm single! I ask my bestie to be my valentine and we make plans. And I plan a day with my mom too. I'm usually a decor for every season and holiday person but I've taken a break from it while I try to get the "foundations" of my home together with my furniture and year round decor.
I don't have room in my apartment for decorations 😂😂 I can only fit the Christmas tree decorations and a string of lights in my closet. I'd like to decorate maybe a little more? The bar is just so nice. As soon as I saw the video upload, I went straight to royalty soaps and bought some soap. Your stuff is always so nice, and so are you! Have a wonderful weekend.
With the world going crazy, me getting older and having more adult problems, this is one of my go to channels that just has the simple things with no drama❤ Thank you royalty soap! 🥰🥰
Valentines is big with kids and singles. I used to do quite a bit of decorating for the kids. And a big box of heart chocolates. Now I put out a few candles. And send my grandkids cards with a treat! I love the box idea. Will try it with my homeschool grands next year!
I am SOOOOOO glad I'm not the ONLY ONE who says that phrase!!!! I'm commenting 1s in, because one of my fav sayings is "what in the bloody blue blazes?!?" And everyone teases me for it!!!! I'm 39yrs and I swear I thought I made it up, but I'm glad someone else uses a variation of it!!!
I think we make Valentines Day a bigger holiday than Christmas in our house. December is my daughter and husbands birthday month and my son is January 3 rd so everything ends up all mashed together. So we go all out for Valentine’s Day❤ Decor, baskets, special menu, desserts, flowers, candy, handmade cards, cute outfits. Everything lol
I like the morph videos. Also, the videos you and other creators have made in the last few years have gotten me into soap making. I give it as gifts but I also have to make sure my brother gets his soap, because he says it’s the on,y soap he can use as his hands get so dry that they crack. I use a purple clay that turns reddish brown. So, thank you! I appreciate it!
I crochet. While that’s very different from soap making, it is personal. I appreciate how much care you put into your craft and like what you said about your “royal standard”. There have been a couple of times when I try making something someone wanted and see that it is just not good enough for them or I have to do something different to make it right.
I always enjoy Valentine's Day as a candy day and a cheerful holiday where I am continuously surrounded by positive vibes that I soak up like a sponge. And I love all the pink candies and such. Decorating for it isn't really a thing in any of the many places I've lived in or visited. I'm not really sure what that would even look like
My momma was a single mom so every year we were her valentines 💓 we used to get cute little love baskets every Valentine’s Day morning and donuts. She deffs raised my standards for any man. Now that we’re older we shower her with Valentine’s Day gifts and flowers and balloons and such.
I've found Vday as a "meh" like holiday but not in a bad way. I send my partner a card and a gift - and then I get cards for my loved ones because I like making them feel special and remembered on the Holiday.
Valentine's Day is honestly just another day. Real families/couples show their love for each other every day of the year. I really dislike that society makes us (feel) obligated to follow all these Hallmark holidays. That aside, the website has been really great since being redesigned🤩
Our wedding anniversary is the day after Valentine’s Day so we kinda combine the two days. This is the first year we’re exchanging gifts but we always go to the Cheesecake Factory!
Decorating for valentines day is a wild concept to me, i didnt know anyone did it! (Well, we might decorate the table with candles if we’re doing a romantic dinner date, but not the whole house for sure!)
For Vday this year I am going to bake a nice cake for my family and my SO usually orders us food as a treat for dinner... we decorated our window with a few cute pink gnome window-clings. Nothing crazy but I've always loved Valentine's aesthetic
I always watch and enjoy your videos and look forward to the next one. I rarely comment because you have such a HUGE following, but I'm here every week watching and enjoing.
My husband and I will really only ever go out on a date night if we have family visiting. We don’t live near any family and we don’t trust anyone else to watch our kids. This year we lucked out and have family visiting the weekend after Valentine’s Day so we’ll get to have a V Day date this year lol
No one around me talks about Valentine's Day IRL but it feels like every single corporation and small business has been non-stop Valentine themed since December 26 and it's a little exhausting. But I love pink so it's not all bad lol. Also, I think a paint splatter top bar would be really cool :3
I just love the way the soap turned out. I hope the colors change back to the prettty pinks. For me Valentine's Day is not my favorite day so I don't really talk about it.
This one was really just strange😮 Personally I liked the cool toned pink of the uncured batter better than the peachy pinks of the final soap.. I wonder if the pinks did have a slight reaction as well? QotD: I do not decorate for Valentines, but if the husband and I go out to eat (or even order in) I just feel really pampered and if I cook I will make a nice romantic dessert. I do use the day as a reminder to myself to show him I love and appreciate him❤
QOTD: I'm not big into holidays, except making sure I get the niblings gifts for xmas. This year I especially need to save since I'm planning a honeymoon with a secret destination (fiancé has been wanting to do a rail trip, and he's also wanted to go back to Germany for years, so I found a rail tour of parts of Germany a bit out of budget but I'll manage). I'll still be making a treat or something for dessert though! He loves cheesecake, and I always have cream cheese in the freezer.
Valentines' day in my family has never been about the lovey dovey stuff. See, it was my granny's birthday, so the whole clan gathers at her home to celebrate it, year after year. The joke was that if we had a significant other, we either had to bring them over to granny's birthday or show up solo. The former, of course, means that SO gets introduced to the whole clan- aunts and uncles (my mom's generation), cousins (my generation), and the nieces/nephews (my cousins' kids' generation), and of course granny herself. I felt slightly embarrassed for my cousins' SOs, especially the ones that didn't end up marrying into the family, it just felt like it wasn't the right time or place to do the family introduction, regardless of whether it was just Valentines' or granny's birthday. Granny died in 2020 of COVID, before I had any SOs to speak of. I suppose if I ever have a SO, Valentines Day would still be quite melancholic for me, no matter how romantic a date I'd have.
I've never really been a valentine's day kind of girl. I'd prefer for my significant other to surprise me with flowers/gifts on a random day out of nowhere just because than a set day where everyone feels obligated to. (and also it's too close to my birthday which is on the 11th)
Paranormal colour morphs are my favourite videos, they bring a whole new level of anticipation as to how the soap will turn out!
It's like....the only good thing about them honestly. haha
do you ever sell the color morphs?@@RoyaltySoaps
When the soap is like the videos haven't been dramatic enough 😂@@RoyaltySoaps
Exactly!!!
Hi Katie, huge fan. Started making soap a few years ago because of you. I was wandering if you ever do sticker bundles?
I'm not gonna lie, I actually really like the colour combo post-morph! It's kind of vanilla custard and strawberry cake-ish. ^^ The finished one is also really pretty, but I think the yellow accents the pink very nicely too. :)
I was thinking that it had a nice strawberry lemonade feel to it!
You should make a collection out of all your paranormal colour morphs. The theme could be "don't judge a book by its cover".
Katie, just wanted to bring to your attention that you are close to 1M subscribers 😭💜🎉 So proud of you.
I KNOW!!! It's soooooo wild! Maybe we will hit that goal in the next two years! eek!!
Soaper here! I have a guess!
I'd wager it was the combo of that fragrance plus the heat generated by the extra water, milk, & and TD. The fragrance likely goes yellow/scorches with excess heat, as I've encountered that phenomenon before. I like the sound of this theory!! hahaha The pre-warmed layer wasn't even something I considered!
My kitten watched this video with me. He thought your black gloves were bugs so every time they moved across the screen he tried to pounce on my phone to get them! He was going crazy when you were swirling the top lol

Katie: enthusiastically praises how perfect the soap is going
The soap: "hold my lye and watch this"
"I just can't tell you how well behaving this batch has been!"
Oh the foreshadowing...
the discoloration reminds me of strawberry lemonade, even if it was unintended. it's surprising to me that only one half went through gel, since it's not something I've heard about before.
still looks very nice though!
This stranger is super proud of you for getting help and for leaving. Glad you're doing well. ❤
I just need you to do a sailor moon collection! Can you imagine the tops?! Or even the flat bars?! Katie!!
This is such a good idea!
Side note that would be a great strawberry lemonade 😂 besides the cracking and whatnots
You and other UA-cam soapers inspired me to make soap a few years ago. I made a lot, and it lasted us a long while, but we did eventually run out. Go kids! Way to know about the past!
Saying Valentines Day boxes like it’s a thing everyone knows
I thought she meant like in elementary school, when the kids decorate "mailboxes" to receive their valentines.
You know how the vanilla fragrance turns everything brown but you still add brown to make sure it turns brown evenly? Maybe it's something like that where it needed more mica to hold it's color
That soap lulled you into a false sense of security 😂.
EXACTLY
Love color morphs!
Pink lemonade anyone??
Never heard of Valentines Day boxes. In Germany Valentines Day isn't a thing. Yes, some women like getting gifts or having a nice date, but we don't decorate for this day.
I love this colour morph by the way. It's a nice yellow!
Few people outside is schools and retail stores decorate for it here either.
I don't think anyone in the US does Valentines Day boxes outside of Elementary school in the US, either. But, it's kind of a fun tradition then!
Same as here in NZ, we're very much like Germany. I don't believe in it either.
it looks like pink and yellow roses!! my fave
Never liked valentines day, and it's just another day to me. It was okay as a kid... Minus 2nd grade... Got sick the day after... Just not a romantic person, and I think I'd rather be single for the rest of my life now.
Its very pretty this way too, it gives Easter/spring vibes
The top of the soap before the paranormal colour morph looked like delicious raspberry ripple ice cream!
Lol.

@@amihayashi8651 thank you! 😊
You could just label it “strawberry lemonade”.
My dad always gets my step mom, grandma, and my two sisters and I a dozen roses each for valentines day
Tbh I kinda dig the colour morph. Makes me think of strawberry lemonade a bit.
The color combination on top is pretty cool, never considered yellow and pink looking good.
If you ever want to know what Northern Texas weather is doing, just pay attention to what Katie is wearing.
Personally, I love the yellow with the pink on top.
I just make sure my family feels apreciated on Valentine’s day. I don’t really see the romance of it, just see it as an apreciation day.
But seeing people stressing about buying expencive gifts and such, really makes me just wanna yeet the day off the calendar.

That's such a fabulous tradition!
Had this been an intentional pink lemonade soap it would have looked great (minus the cracks on top).
Valentine's Day is my favorite holiday ONLY because I help out my family's flower shop by delivering arrangements around town. I look forward to this every year and I help out Feb 13th and Feb 14th. For Valentine's Day we say special prayers to Saint Valentine and in the upcoming years I want to make special treats for my kids 😊
When I saw the thumbnail I thought it was the pink lemonade soap of summers gone by. 🍋🍓
On the bright side it looks like a perfect pink lemonade soap.
Delicious pink lemonade!!
Valentine’s Day is a different day for us. This valentines will mark 16 years to the day that my husband and I met the very first time.
Could the gelling and heat possibly have scorched the coconut milk powder?
The color morph is kinda nice, it's giving very bright spring and sunshine vibes 🏵🌺
Ever since I got married Valentine's day isn't as big of a deal as my anniversary.
Dang! Those boxes are awesome!!
My husband's love language is physical touch and gifts, so he loves Valentines Day! We still celebrate ;)
I don't know what happened, but I think those look like strawberry shortcake. You know, yellow pound cake with strawberries and cream!
Call it strawberry lemonade soap and call it a day, lol
With the world going crazy, me getting older and having more adult problems, this is one of my go to channels that just has the simple things with no drama❤
Thank you royalty soap! 🥰🥰
Valentines is big with kids and singles. I used to do quite a bit of decorating for the kids. And a big box of heart chocolates. Now I put out a few candles. And send my grandkids cards with a treat! I love the box idea. Will try it with my homeschool grands next year!

The yellow looks so floral. The collestion is so pretty. I cant wait to find out the next round.
Valentine's day over here is mostly one of those "Comercial" holidays where stores just love putting out sales and themed stuff. and that's it
Your website looks soooo good! You guys are real pros! ❤
It’s kinda pretty. It looks like pink lemonade.
So, the notes said vanilla, won't that turn the bars brown/dark?
I'm not really sure what that would even look like
It’s pretty ❤ it reminds me of strawberry lemonade
Love the site experience!! from a digital marketing professional :)
Placing my first order tonight!
I love all Holidays. As a single newly non-binary person I’m excited to see how this Valentines Day goes.
I can't really purchase anything (I'm in Europe, the shipping alone would kill me) but the website redesign looks great! Good job Katie!!
Love the pinks 😍 strawberry scented would have been lovely too
Decorating for valentines day is a wild concept to me, i didnt know anyone did it!
“I just cant tell ya how well behaving this batch has been…” famous last words fs😂
I always watch and enjoy your videos and look forward to the next one. I rarely comment because you have such a HUGE following, but I'm here every week watching and enjoing.
I know it wasn’t the intended color but I think the color combo is so pretty!
My husband and I will really only ever go out on a date night if we have family visiting. We don’t live near any family and we don’t trust anyone else to watch our kids. This year we lucked out and have family visiting the weekend after Valentine’s Day so we’ll get to have a V Day date this year lol
It looks like a lemon strawberry shorbet!!! Even the color morphs can be beautiful :3
Its giving easter vibes
No one around me talks about Valentine's Day IRL but it feels like every single corporation and small business has been non-stop Valentine themed since December 26 and it's a little exhausting. But I love pink so it's not all bad lol. Also, I think a paint splatter top bar would be really cool :3
It gives me pink lemonade vibes
I just love the way the soap turned out. I hope the colors change back to the prettty pinks. For me Valentine's Day is not my favorite day so I don't really talk about it.
Wait so, you didn't have to alter the recipie to prevent the yellowing?? You did it again, and...its perfect? 😂
Awe I like watching the whole pouring process and your stories while you pour the things together and plus they are longer videos
This one was really just strange😮
Personally I liked the cool toned pink of the uncured batter better than the peachy pinks of the final soap.. I wonder if the pinks did have a slight reaction as well?
QotD: I do not decorate for Valentines, but if the husband and I go out to eat (or even order in) I just feel really pampered and if I cook I will make a nice romantic dessert. I do use the day as a reminder to myself to show him I love and appreciate him❤
I love this! It's great ! ❤the yellow gives it a spring look I think is lovely!
But yellow and pink look awesome!!
Just put an easter stamp on the yellow ones! Pink and Yellow are big easter colors!
Valentines' day in my family has never been about the lovey dovey stuff. See, it was my granny's birthday, so the whole clan gathers at her home to celebrate it, year after year. We don't celebrate valentine's day. We celebrate 1/2 price candy day the next day! The kids love it. ❤
I know you didn’t intend it, but I LOVE THAT YELLOW!! And with the pink!!❤❤❤❤
The website is always so easy to navigate and so cute 🥰 you guys do great!!
I love all that you do, products, videos, website. Love it all
That was a crazy color morph. Added to some came out correctly and that one really not at all. Thanks for sharing!❤
I agree with the strawberry lemon comments for the morph. I loved it!
Valentine's Day isn't a big deal in my house. Since it usually falls on a weekday and my hubby works 2nd shift, we donusually do anything.
I get presents from my love, and I buy him presents. So that’s my two love languages checked😂
I've never really been a valentine's day kind of girl. I'd prefer for my significant other to surprise me with flowers/gifts on a random day out of nowhere just because than a set day where everyone feels obligated to. (and also it's too close to my birthday which is on the 11th)
Okay, but it looks like bacon and cheese after that paranormal colour shift 😅😂
