- Laphroaig Càirdeas 2024 Cask Favorites is a whisky I've been anticipating for months. Thankfully this one came out great and @laphroaig did a great job!

Loving this one.
My first and only Cardias was 2021. Amazing!
Good question to start the video. Shows me where I am in the whiskey hobby because my joy comes from things I know I like that I know I can buy anytime I want!
You'll spend far less money that way. Good method
Always get the cairdeas. This one was a great release. Took their two best recent releases and combined them. I also make sure to get the glen scotia yearly releases. I used to do ardbeg releases too but they lost me. I only sporadically buy them now
Nice review. Agree it's a pretty strong release (I got very similar berry notes as well). Cheers!
Managed to grab a bottle and it’s delicious! Pretty mild peat but you definitely get the PX casks. It’s not a sherry bomb, but the red fruits you mentioned are definitely there.
It's about damn time! Lol I think this is a great improvement over the past 2, but the 2021 PX is still my favorite by far. I daresay among my top 5-10 of all time. Cheers!
It was a sad day when I finished the PX a few weeks ago, but grateful that I was able to have one.
This one is great!
Thanks!
Love the Ardbeg dig lol
Liked this so much I bought a backup. Only other Cairdeas I had was 2021 PX- wish I still had some left to do comparison, but it was so good that it was empty a long time ago. Cheers!
I still have a good chunk of my bottle. I'm very happy about that
“Whatever part of the distillery decided to break that year and they named a bottle after it…” I laughed my a$$ off!
I'm genuinely surprised more people didn't comment on that. I loved that line too
I look forward each year to Ardbeg special releases, Laphroaig 10 CS and Laphroaig Cairdeas!!
$165 Canadian for me before taxes but worth it!!
I'm salivating...that's all you really have to say about this bad boy.
I always look forward to the Lagavulin 11 Offerman edition
Just found one today in central Connecticut. But only one on the shelf at the last of four stores I visited. Kinda shocked to not be seeing it everywhere. The last few years are still sitting on shelves (the PX seems to be all gone...cask favorite you say?? 😂)
Thanks for the video and will be opening this soon!
I hope you enjoy it!
So this one's better than the Laphroaig Select? Huh. 😁 I've started looking forward to the Lagavulin Offerman releases, although I don't think they're intended to be an annual release (though it would be if they're on the ball).
Just slightly better 😀
Yearly offermans is a good choice
Thanks for your review! The whisky I look forward to every year is the annual single malt release from Tsunuki.
Ooo, I haven't heard of that. I'll keep an eye out for it!
Your dipped glass makes sense knowing Laphroaig uses ex-Bourbon casks from Maker’s Mark! (Both being owned by Beam-Suntory too)
What I look forward to every year are any special releases and collaborations that get put out by Balcones.
Like or Dislike: Like. This was an exciting review. Have you ever considered enrolling in the Whiskey Vault's sommelier training program?
I looked into it a bit back when I used to go to Texas for the Bastard's Ball, however, I don't have need for the accreditation. It's a good program though, I've heard good things.
I'm happy I got a bottle of this at retail but sadly retail is $115 buy me. This Cairdeas I could justify the price to myself as it is age stated and a blend of the cask favorites. I've always loved the triple wood more. I still remember that warehouse 1 video. I'm so happy I left it on the shelf. When I look at some Laphroaig pricing that is wonky I remember that video.
I'm so glad that this one was great. I'd have been so bummed if it wasnt.
Bunna cask strength for me - although this year’s 21 year old might be a stretch financially…have a couple of bottles of the cairdeas in the stash. Lovely stuff!
Bunna CS is a great choice
Sounds like a great whisky! My favorite Laphroaig is the sherry cask 10. How would you compare that one this? Assuming you’ve had the sherry cask.
Kilchoman Loch Gorm and 100% Islay
Glen Scotia Victoriana
What about the 2023 version , any opinions on that one?
Yes! I did a video on it last year. ua-cam.com/video/5ie2G0-5vIA/v-deo.html
I wasn't a big fan.
@@TheWhiskeyDictionary i Appreciate this because it cost 150 here , i humbly appreciate your answer, not worth the risk then, i'll wait for the 2024
