Thanks for sharing your painting experiences. I can't see any problems in the photos. What did you not like about the finish, and what do you think caused it?
I think the paint was to old, It had been sitting for 3 or 4 years(maybe longer) so it started to move away from the panel lines, Also it has a lot of dust in it, Plus the clear was a bit to thick:D All my fault, but hey everybody has to learn.
I like the color. I wouldn't change it. I finally bought a kit at much expense and cannot decide on the color. I want to use Zero or Gravity paint. Any suggestions?
Objectively - perfect skill - thanks for this video! My personal view - appaling colour! :D On a DBS it´s an atrocity! :D but you know - one man´s poison is another man´s candy - here apparantly quite literally .... :) Well done, mate!
Tom: I realize that this is a relatively early one of your videos. Just curious, I noticed the airbrush pressure was set at 3 bar, in newer videos you usually shoot at a MUCH lower pressure (1.3 to 1.5 bar if I recall correctly). Was this just a learning process with the Zero paints or is there a different rationale for dropping the pressure by about 60%? Thanks!
I got a new airbrush a year or so ago, maybe a bit longer, with new seals in it(duhh, its new....) The one in this and many other older video’s was about 8 years old, and started wearing out over the years. And increadingly losing pressure. Therefor i needed to keep putting the pressure up higher and higher. Getting basicaly the same result as i do now with the new one and lower pressure. Its basicaly just a number on the guage. In the end the pressure out of the gun is the same.
FraGNet0 By all means its not bad. But it has a run in the clear and the panel lines were not covering well with the candy. But thanks for the compliment!
I love the colour!! Why would you not simply use the Tamiya polishing compounds, like their finish, and polish that to an absolutely amazing shine and glass like finish. Seems a shame to have spent all that time and effort to strip it and reapply all that again. Just my opinion and advice.
Okay. Looked great from the video, but not there to really SEE the final product. I just spent the better part of a few days working on a practice piece with Tamiya TS8 for the F1 F2000 1/20 Tamiya that I just ordered. It needs to be flawless in the paint, decals and gloss clear coat. Lots of work on the practice and think I have the technique down. My video camera shit the bed and I need to get another one and start posting some build video's here on You Tube.
LOVE the colour!!

BlahBlahBlah, great question - I also thought it was a learning process/refining over time thing. Thanks for the reply Tom!
Just wondering when you will re-do the Aston Martin?
Whenever i find a new kit at a good price
This paintjob looks really great.
Wich brand are the basecoat and the candy ?

+Wayne W Not quite sure what you mean Wayne. The paint was just not up to my standard and liking. Tamiya compounds would not help in fixing it.
