For sure! I love the fact I can paint a black and white picture with her frozen in time while the camera circles around showing her paused in time, with the only movement is mascara running down her cheeks, while the world goes on around her.
She had me imagining the restaurant, the pinned up hair, mascara running down AND I even went beyond that and thought about a ghost always sitting at that corner table...

I started listening to her in high school, so in the mid 2000s, that was her like young and fun stage. Finding who she was as an artist, etc. This is the older, more mature Taylor she's been through a lot she's grown personally and as an artist. I'm 💯 here for it.

For me this is one of Taylor’s best lyrics and storytelling. It just amazes me how she can capture so many feelings and situations that happen too all of us and how as an adult she you feel the things
Taylor's mind. This is not related to the love triangle. Taylor already wrote a novel at the age of 14 yo, it is unpublished, I am assuming she did it to see if she could. Taylor Alison Swift must have been born under the right star, her talent is unquestionable.

The last couple of songs on Evermore are so country! As in the narrative and storytelling but also, the guitar (and sounds like a banjo), but her country twang too. There's echoes of that country sound everywhere- Cowboy Like Me, and some of the extra/bonus tracks.
@3.54, I think you summed up that first verse so well btw. It reminds me of grief- the world keeps going, even through the losses of people who had such a huge part in your life, and you know FOR SURE, there's no coming back. Excluding ghosts of course!
OMG, I write comments first time around and pause the video- like a private reaction video with me reacting to your reaction. Because ok, it's pretty easy to work out, but we both felt/thought of the Kubler-Ross, model of grief! And trauma causing emotional arrested development. Her bridges and subtle changes in the final chorus are legendary.
BTW, I just subbed, after 2 videos. You're fun to watch- the dancing and happy vibe and with songs like this. Especially when you add the little "Taylor Swift ", "Come on now Taylor". You make me smile and laugh which for me is a blessing in itself.

This song is absolutely devastating! So many of her songs can be felt from different perspectives, this one really cuts deep after losing my dad after he started being more present in my life. She has such a talent for writing cathartic lyrics.

She’s a master lyricist. She has the ability to paint emotional pictures that are perfect snapshots of a specific feeling. There is no one like her.
I would watch “Dear John” the live version from her speak now world tour! It’s about her relationship with John Mayer (she was 19 and he was 32) he emotionally abused her. It’s AMAZING but you have to watch the LIVE performance :)
100th like. I just subbed too. How does she consistently have such incredible songs that still don't make the main albums? (this one, The Lakes, all of the Midnights 3am tracks, all of the Red TV vault tracks?) She's just such a prolific, top-tier songwriter that all of that greatness can't be contained on the "acceptable" length of a regular album. folklore and evermore (folkmore) could have just as easily been a double album release, but it still wouldn't have given us all that she ended up offering us. Why is her fandom so frigging huge? Her generosity is rewarded with loyalty. That's how.

I would recommend her entire discography. Have you heard Epiphany yet? If not check it out it’s about her grandpa who fought in ww2, a tribute to him, she ties it in to those who fought on the front lines during the Covid pandemic. Also check out the song Marjorie, it’s about her maternal grandmother who was an opera singer.
Love her breathless voice too. And T does all types of music so many artist stick to onely there genre of music and domt change it up T is like madonna she changes it up . No body can top TS.
