Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 This song was played 9 times during their North American tour with DETHKLOK. That was different from this video filmed on Day-1 (April 1) in Yokohama when the performance had been done right before the dawn of newly born BABYMETAL. Momometal was not official member yet and she did not have a mic back then.
[FYI : I witnessed this very performed live with West (American) Kami Band at the venue. Japanese fans always appreciate the devoted support by Chris, CJ, Anthony and Clint (Ryan replaced now). I can't explain how amazing it was with my English vocabulary. 😍]
Regarding "Maya", Su said in an interview "The lyrics in English 'How would you know ... is all an illusion' is not the kind of expression that BABYMETAL have not had in the past." She added " When it comes to sound, I like a part where my voice seem to fade into fog but it does exist there" [source: magazine PMC vol. 27 page 40]

Cool even before the song started to play you were bringing the "real world" theme, kinda premonitory.
This song belongs to latest album The Other One but it wasn't part of the 5 singles released prior to the album release, although it becomes one of fans favorite from this album real fast.
The nasty riffs reminds to "Ice Nine Kills - Rainy Day".
Maya in Hindu myth is the representation of illusion (which is the theme in this song), so that might be the reference.

The Western Kami Band playing this live at PIA Arena MM (April 1st) certainly gives some aggressive flavor and with MomoMetal now officially as a new member, just so you know this was performed during Black Night, at the end of this night she was announced as MomoMetal, the night after this (Clear Night) they're wearing the new costume you can see at Mirror Mirror and METALIZM official MV.
They've been rotating this song along with Mirror Mirror and Believing during The Babyklok Tour recently finished.

Wow pretty cool this was actually the first watch for me I haven't been nearly as Babymetal Centric since the loss of 🍅💀metal but they have done a few things that I like. still requesting from the older Babymetal though( really hard to do since I can't really determine what you have seen and what you haven't) to me they are almost a completely separate entity from this band.
I find it kind of hard to understand why a lot of people distanced themselves from babymetal because of Yui left. It's not like she was in anyway responsible for the songmaking and the sound they have and if you just listen to their studio stuff you wouldn't even hear her that much (unless you were listening to the black babymetal songs obviosly). Also it's not like babymetal kicked her off so people would be pissed because of that. She left on her own on as good as terms as you can leave a group. I kind of would get it if it was Su who left since she is the main voice you are hearing in all of their songs. Also not going at you on this comment. Your comment just made my brain jog and made me think of this issue.
@@Tyyppl well all opinions are for entertainment purposes only that's for sure but many people felt that Yui was an integral part of the group and since she was a founding member in there from even before Babymetal began she most certainly did form the essence of everything that was Babymetal. as far as the reason why she left that's pure speculation the official amuse position is just that(Amuse) I personally tend to lean more towards the position that there was some drama going on and there is plenty of evidence for that I'm not going to hash out here but that may give you some idea why some people feel the way they do. as a closer and to quote Yui, she once said that "everybody was not nice" 🤘
@@Tyyppl also you couldn't be more wrong about yui's role in Babymetal. it was more in-depth than most people know she was involved in songwriting, producing, arrangements, choreography and other things. She had ambition, which makes it all that much more strange how she just disappeared from the face of the Earth
@@MikeDPlxztc Yui was an excellent dancer and performer, and I count myself lucky to have seen her on stage three times before she left the group.

That's quite a stretch, and is largely incorrect.
Although it is true that the three original members became more involved in contributing ideas for the choreography in the 'Karate' era, MIKIKO developed those ideas into a presentable form.
Yui's involvement in production, choosing setlists, etc. was part of her role as Production chairman in her senior year in Sakura Gakuin.
It's not related to her activities in BABYMETAL.
Yui and Moa have joint credit for the music and lyrics (but not the arrangement) of one BABYMETAL song, '4no Uta'.

Have you got an actual source for that quote?
Because it seems very unlikely that it's something that Yui ever said.
Also it sounds like you are calling her a liar, since her letter to the fans expressed the same thing as the official statement from Amuse, Inc.
