This hit me, lost my Dad suddenly when I was an immature 20yr old. It took me years to realise, even through his faults he was a good farther and a good man. I regret not spending more time with him. RIP dad, we will catch up one day x
One of the most fortunate conversations I ever had: when my dying father told me he was proud of me, the last time I saw him alive. Really hard to explain how much that meant.
My father died suddenly when I was 17 and I wasn't living with him after my parents split. 25 years later the guilt of not visiting him more often is always there. If you have a loving dad please look past any issues and just spend time with them.
My dad passed when i was 19 unexpectedly to covid. The year before we got in a fistfight and i ran away. I wish i could change things but god put us on this path bc we are strong brother. Keep your head high and make pops proud
I felt same. Youre not the only person. My dad was sick and glad I was there for few day. But he was sick for years on and of. I wish I was there more often. But I remember the good time we had with each other. And don’t blame yourself. Think of the good times and remember those who lost their father when they were baby or have no father and we did
I overdosed on April 14th 2008 on heroin, I was about 1 minute away from death the EMTs told me. I had half a heartbeat per minute. I remember when I talked to my dad after and they got a call saying I overdosed but they didn't know for about an hour or so if I was dead or alive. I did everything with my dad, we were best friends and I remember him crying to me speaking with me after I got out of the hospital. Fast forward six years and my dad got sick and we had to pull the plug and he ended up dying on the same date, April 14th 2014 and I at least got to be with him and literally hold his hand while he passed. Life isnt a given especially with the world like it is today.
my birthday is April 14th!!!...in 2008 during ur episode i was 23 and in 2014 when ur dad passed i was 29 😢 ill always remember u n ur dad from now on!!!...God bless 🙏🏽
I neglected answering what was my dad's last phone call to me taking it for granted telling myself that I would call him the next day and he ended up passing away that night that is my biggest regret to this day my father was who I inspire to be like the hardest worker I've ever known a real man never any excuses I dearly miss him so much he was my greatest gift from God
Patrick is so right. I was getting ready for work. I normally get on youtube or browse the Internet before work. I remember that morning The Eulogy of The Rocks Father popped up on my UA-cam feed. Something about the way Dwayne aka The Rock was speaking, his dimeaner, and everything. It gave me chills goosebumps down my spine. It touched me in a way is hard to explain. I don't know Dwayne but it gave me this amazing feeling. I went into work that morning with that energy. Like i said never met Dwayne. Judge people by how you see them treat other human beings. He just seems like one of the most humble, nicest, kindest human beings you could ever hope to meet. People will try to find negative things to say. The Rocks track record shows me he's a nice person more times than hes not one. Hes always gracious and kind to his fans, anybody he meets. Always giving back, like buying people homes, cars, trucks. Number 1 you can see he absolutely loves his Mom,family, kids, and people that are closest to him. Dwayne has been a Billionaire basically for years now. Yet here he is always the first to show up. Always up before the chickens crow grinding in the gym. I have so much respect and admiration for the man.
I'm glad Rock told the story about his father being kicked out of the house at 13 year's old. I suspect it is more common than not, for boys to go through a "demonizing" phase or a challenging his authority with their fathers. The POINT is, the older generation of fathers rarely talked about their lives when THEY were young, and as teens and 20-somethings, we (as sons, and young people in general) are (I KNOW I was), so self-absorbed, it never occurs to us to ask them about their lives, but often they have gone through crucibles in life (like the Rock's dad), that made them 'hard' and that help to explain "who" they are, and "why" they do some of the things they do. I am embarrassed to type that I was about 45 years old (and he had passed 10 years prior) before I "humanized" my father. I did not appreciate him (and took a lot of things too personally) when he was alive, but in retrospect, he was a GREAT father, I was just too young, selfish, and dumb to realize it. I don't know if I am imagining it, but I could swear that I read a story about The Rock and his dad that went something like this: When Rock got cut from his college football team in (I think it was Florida), he called his dad (who lived multiple hours away). His dad drove down to pick him..........and they rode back in the car for multiple hours, and his father never once mentioned football. If that story is accurate, that is a great story! No, "I told you so's". No rubbing Dwayne's face in it. Just a father being there for his son.
The rock is a real man idgaf what anyone says! He coulda been like yeah he told me how proud of me I was but he was honest and said they ended in a grudge
So tell me how yall know so much about Dwayne? You know nothing about him so stop saying rude untruthful things about him hes a good guy and has helped out lots and lots of people
I've met him before - not for long - and the man was a kind, warm guy with no reason to be to a nobody like me. Not sure what goes on behind closed doors but thats my experience with him
@@TexasWreckShop That’s a majority of peoples experience with him. A lot of people “hate The Rock” because he 1. Ruined DC or 2. Ruined WWE. Or because they claim he’s a fake natty. Outside of that, I don’t see many people having valid criticisms of his character.
The rock has the power of being the most agreeable person and at the same time being the most fake person in the room. Pure social intelligence. He is a psychopath
@@HK00088I don’t think he has too many stans left. the more info that comes out about him behind the scenes the more you realize he is the worst kind of person. he’s not humble at all.

What prompts interviewers to initiate discussion about sensitive and emotionally charged subjects such as the death of a family member? Ratings and clicks?
it's tough, it sucks but you know that it was just a fight and wish you could make it right because you love that person, and they KNOW all this TOO at the time they die or in the next world, we think other people operate differently than us for some reason, "oh the last time he saw me I was telling him he was a POS and it really got him down", what if the roles were reversed, would you honestly forever believe that he thought you actually were JUST a POS and he wanted to never see you again? of course not, he was having an off day, maybe you were a prick..shit happens, just a small moment in a life of many moments together, we build things up in our heads, things are never as bad as we make them out to be, I mean you can dread having to go to a family reunion..you think up all these terrible scenarios, one bad moment leads to another.., then you go and it wasn't that bad at all, they welcomed you and you had to be there all day eating casseroles or whatever, woopty fk, if you don't get to say goodbye, I'm pretty sure it's okay, and tell them once they're gone, they still might hear your, there seems to be something more there than just flesh and blood, you can't always be there and people fight..pain is love!
The rock is a good actor and wwe character but he plays his acting role off the set so it’s hard to trust or respect what he says. I don’t know if it’s genuine or an act.

Dwayne Johnson could care less about his dad. I don't even think Rocky was his real father since the two look nothing alike and Dwayne props up his mother's side all of the time and could have gotten closer to Rocky's side if he wanted to but neglects it even to this day.
If his mother's side was more of a family to him than his dad's side I could see why he would do that. Plus, you have no clue what his relationship is like with any of his relatives you don't know so relax
I wouldn’t believe a word that comes out of his mouth all he cares about is money. I mean the man literally tried to make money off the Hawaiian fires and still acts like it never happened.
How do you make money off donating 5 million plus to people in need? I happen to know people who recieved help from that fund. It was life saving for them when the government had not helped yet and they lost so much.
Still get to spend time with my Father! The best of times, the toughest of times.
