I met Peter in Providence after an early gig touring for Bloody Kisses. I had him sign my CD and asked him to come back to Providence anytime... His reply: "Is that a threat?" - I really miss that man.
He was a weird dionysian Conan the Barbarian like character who went whatever he wanted, raven haired, of great melancholy and great mirth. And had a raw animal magnetism. What a character. What a voice!
I was friends w Peter, we hung out at Duffs Williamsburg Brooklyn. I cant believe he's gone 13 years now . HE WAS A REAL DOWN TO EARTH INTELLIGENT DUDE YOUD MEET.. That was funny.
Man I hope you have that phone in a safe somewhere safe because that is gold right there, I saw typo back in 2001 at the palladium in Hollywood Cali. I arrived early and smoking a cig close to the Palladium lounge I saw peter about 20 feet away come out to the lounge with like 20 plus people, they all took over the lounge I know for sure it was him because he towered over everyone else, I saw typo open up for cradle of filth there that night
i bet that was an amazing show. i had the opportunity to see type o with ozzy and sepultura back in the day and missed it. i always kick myself bc of it
LOL Peter Steele..me and some buddies of mine hung out with him at The House of Blues in New Orleans as well. Who knows it might have been the same time. He must have spent a hour just hanging out with us after the show.
I always hear very special memories from the bands fans. One timea crippled fan made it behind the gate, near the bus. Peter looked at him and said" Damn man what happened to you?", the guy had no legs, he invited the guy on the tour bus, and let him party with the band.
It just pisses me off that i was born in 95 and never got to go to a show or meet him. Love the music but he seemed like such a intelligent man i would have loved to have a conversation with him. I cried seeing the interview of him talking about his own family having him locked up with is yhe worst thing to do to a addict. Also the video of him showing that beautiful place with the lake and him saying "vuild a house here with my woman and worship her for the rest of my life" he never found true love and thats just so heart breaking he seemed like the nicest most loving man!
Saw typo back in 2007 actually hung out with the band as originally from ohio then moved to Cleveland saw them at the house of blues there....best night of my life they were so much fun esp Peter! Literally the gentle giant R.I.P. peter ❤❤❤ thats amazing you have that memory forever!!
I had the fortune of hanging out with Peter backstage in Dallas in 2007, even though it was a JagerMeister Tour, he wanted a shot of Jack, so I was like 'Peter wants a shot of Jack, he's going to get a shot of Jack', my buddy told me I may not be able to get backstage since he had the pass and I was with him, so I asked Peter to Bless Me, he motioned the cross and mumbled some Latin and I was off, hit the bar, got his Jack, and security let me back in without a Pass. So Peter's Blessing worked, I don't have much to show for my life, but at least I can say I was Blessed by Peter Steele! Ha! I miss that dude every day, just 6 short years after we lost Dimebag Darrell too. It's a Cosmic Shame.
I went to Atlanta GA, to see Fear Factory. They opened for TON, and I met Peter after the show and I've never met a more nice person, but very intimidating looking. He was very funny.
I met Peter in 1996 at the tower theater in philly//type o and godflesh opened for danzig///Peter was just sitting there watching soundcheck and I started talking to him
That's hella rad!! 😂I've had many a toilet paper fight with him (as a fan in the crowd) on Halloween in Philly at the (now gone) Troc. RIP Peter and The Troc. 😢❤
Should definitely find a way to drag the audio off that phone, or get someone to record the phone speaker with a good mic. That's amazing dude, he was a special human.
@@jacobjustus my only regret is not knocking sooner and thinking my friend who lived above him was BSing me until i saw all those people on his porch driving home about a block away when i read a message he had passed, i walked over and verified things and offered to help. still surreal to this day.
@@GeorgeCoggins Thats pretty heavy. I hate that you missed out on meeting him. I only spent ten, maybe twenty minutes with him but barring dementia I'll never forget it
I have a soft spot for Pierce, this man was probably so checked out by the time he became president his logic for making decisions was " yeah sure just take care of it so I dont have to have to hear about it"
Hearing Peter saying "muthafuka" was something I did not know I needes in life. r.i.p. Peter.
LOL this is pure gold. Protect that phone at all costs.
For sure

Pete's humor was perfect.

Perfect verbal encapsulation. I'll certainly never forget the brief moments I shared with him
Great girth 😂
And he ended up fat with teeth rotting and heart exploding in his late 40's😂
