It's true UA-cam is pushing small channels but it ain't all that easy. But with the right strategies it does faster. Small creators let's uplift one another. Keep them coming...🎉🎉🎉

The problem is, once your video doesn’t do well in the small group that yt recommend to, the video is done, basically dead. Before, yt would slowly but continously push videos, i like that more.

Thanks for this. My dilemma is with the titles in my videos. I don't want them to be click bait and don't want to betray the essence of the channel with titles that are a dime a dozen. My channel is on short narrated horror and mystery stories.

Are they pushing?
From what I have noticed, they randomly push videos, I have been at it for nearly 4 months now, and only a handful of my videos actually gained traction but there is no noticeable pattern to that, What I have however noticed is that just stay consistent, post a few times a week without a delay and in due time, things will start to turn around.
I am still 3.5 k hours of watch time away from monetization but let's see where we end up.

It’s not that easy. It depends on your niche. Some niches are more popular than others. I have been posting consistently for months but I haven’t got that many subscribers. But I like doing videos about my cat and I’ll keep doing that! I’m not doing it for the money, but I will be happy of course if that happens one day. The key is that you have to like what you’re doing!
For you I would focus on your titles and the reworking the content

I restarted my channel in July 2024, this January has been a real struggle for watch time-I’ve actually been losing subscribers daily too. I haven’t seen any push or extra boost from the algorithm at all. I’ve used some of the titles you suggested and even copied a viral video, but nothing has really made a significant difference. So I have to ask-how exactly is UA-cam 'helping' small channels get monetized in 30 days? I feel like I missed out on something.

Scot, thank you for this information, but I’m feeling like my UA-cam channel isn’t working for me. I must be doing something wrong because only one of my videos has over 100 views, I have 165 subs, and I’ve posted 49 videos in almost 4 months. To say I’m feeling discouraged is an understatement. I realize channel growth takes time. Maybe I’m being impatient. How do I avoid feeling discouraged and improve my efforts when things are this bad? 😔

Very small creator here, love the videos you produce. One question for you… Does a channel need to be have a paid monthly subscription to UA-cam to gain more traffic to your channel? Or does UA-cam throttle you back for not doing so? Been over 2 years at is and not much growth. Thank you.

YT is helping smaller channels no more or less then before. If anything, I would strongly suggest it's less. Each and every day I look at the growth of several Random YT channels regardless if they have they type of content I like. Not seeing YT remotely pushing smaller channels. So the best things a YT can do, either get REAL Lucky and or put out the best HOOKS followed by the best Quality they can possible produce.

My channel is now pushing 1500 subscribers, but we will never become a monetized channel since our content is age restricted!

What if UA-cam is sending out our videos to the wrong audience? Then my videos aren’t going to the right people so I don’t get views. I say this because I’ve seen videos on my feed that I don’t even watch so I don’t even click on it because it’s not what I’m interested in. So how do we avoid this? Please help!
Then you need to keep feeding the algorithm with your specific niche in the title and eventually it will find the right audience
