Maaan that industrial gray color on your bike is soooo growing on me...I think I'm going to paint my Road King Special into this awesome color!!! Nice info there boss
@@ThrottleBackRubberDown even some car companies have that color scheme on some of their models... Its beautiful...!!! Now with a nice blue lettering would be even more awesome...
Good information bro! One of the most under appreciated accessory for our ride. I was able to extend the life of my battery twice as long. I don't ride everyday; so it kept my battery fully charged when it's time to ride. After 17 years, I am on my SECOND battery!🤩😍
Thanks for the video. It’s always good to have the connector plug installed at the bike, it’s so much easier to charge the battery. We have four bikes and connectors mounted on all four. Then it’s easy to alternate the charger between them. I use to charge all bikes maybe once every month or so during the winter.
Nice video. I also keep my battery via the CAN-bus connection fresh. Like Klebemeister aus Voerde. Must be a specific tender unit from Ducati (for my Scrambler)
Tell you guys something from Germany: There are tender units out there/here (most preferable from BMW) you can connect at your CAN-bus. That's for sure the most convenient way.
Yeah...I've been doing some digging tonight and outside of ease of "hook up" can't find a difference in terms of performance from one product to the other. Interested to hear if there is one. I certainly see the ease factor appealing to folks...I've never had an issue with the ring adapters but many don't like doing anything with the battery directly if they don't have to. Thanks for the comment/info!
Just bought the optimate 4 ready for my new XR, I'll fit a battery tender lead to the battery (SAE) because I won't be using the din socket (can bus) already on the bike as I'll be swopping it out for a plug and play USB socket ......👌
Interesting...well two reasons...the DIN adapter is a separate piece and the ring adapters were installed when I bought it as the dealer installs them on all their bikes to keep the batteries topped off. I have always used the ring adapters in the past as well. I don't know of any advantages/drawbacks of one over the other outside of when using the DIN adapter you can remove it when not using it more easily???
Well...when you set up the ring connectors, yes, if that is what you mean. Once installed, that is the beauty of the tender...just plug and charge with no fuss.
I also own the BMW S1000XR model 2020, but I wouldn’t dream of hooking up the battery to an external battery charger, even though I rode less during the winter months due to wet weather. The battery is simply too young for external recharging. You didn’t mention which type of battery is in your BMW, is it a lead-acid or lithium battery? I bought my BMW with a lithium battery, hoping to get better battery life from this type of battery.
The battery tenders are great...BMW local has all their bikes hooked up in the showroom and come with the leads already installed. If you want to get the most of your battery highly recommend getting a tender...it will charge and then switch over to maintain when charged. They are great especially if you don't get out for a good ride on the regular or face a few weeks of crummy weather in the winter like I just went through.
@@ThrottleBackRubberDown You didn’t say whether this concerns all batteries or only lead-acid batteries. As I mentioned in my previous post, I bought my BMW with a lithium battery. This winter I had a 2-week period end of December and another one middle of January when I did not ride my bike, because the weather was uncomfortable. Starting the engine after these long pauses caused no issues whatsoever. I am therefore not convinced that this tender would be necessary for the moment.
The lifesaver for us in the midwest! Good video TBRD!
Thanks mate. For sure a great little tool.

The color has really grown on me. I have always like greys and silvers.

That's definitely the benefit of this cool little accessory. So each to install and use as well.

Yeah...the installed plug makes it super easy for sure. Thanks for the comment!
It can also be used to connect compressor and other equipment to the battery. If using it as an power out It can be good to use some type of fuse.
Thanks for the information. Have a good day.
Appreciate your support!
I have been using the Battery tender junior for several years it works great.
Great little product for sure!
Good video buddy. Need to get one of these to be honest. Nice work bro.
They definitely are a cheap, easy, and great product.

Interesting. I have seen this now that I have had a few comments but still use the tender as always.
Great post, still don't have a tender on my bike yet.
Yeah...they make life a lot easier if charging for sure.
Battery tenders for mine all year long. As soon as it’s cooled down enough to touch, I plug it in.
I do like the unit...super easy for sure.

A must have!
It is a good one for sure!
Nice video,
My local dealer recommended using the DIN socket outlet, why didn't you go that route?
Is your battery M battery (lithium-ion)?

So, it's always recommended disconnecting the battery from the bike when we attach the charger?
